As a trader, I'm a big believer in the usefulness of TA to identify short term trends and patterns in Bitcoin Price.  However, I am also a big believer that TA is pretty useless in identifying mid-long term trends in price.  The mid-long term price is influenced far too much by the fundamentals, namely news and whatever else is happening in the world involving bitcoin, to be able to make predictions like this.  You can have all the bearish pendants, heads and shoulders, and cups/handles that your heart desires and one little news article could send the price skyrocketing.

There's pretty good volume on this dump.

There is a lot of trading at 362. Will be interesting to see if we slide up when the panic selling settles.

Edit: How many of those who sold post dumpage did so because they thought the price will fall further and how many because they thought: "JEEEEEEEBUS, GTFO ASAP!!!!"?
i would have held if i could edit my damn stop loss on magnr.  instead i sold automatically at 363.  I'm gonna go with there being support at 364.  just bought back in at 364.7.

Of course. Stop Loss.

I don't think my brain is awake yet.
The worst is when you wake up at 4 AM to your bitcoinwisdom alarm and end up making poor trading decisions because you are still 90% asleep.

Does anyone here ever actually talk about the price movement?

Hard truth: Nobody here knows anything more than you. Charts are a waste of time.

Mid-long term, yes.  Short term, there are plenty of patterns and indications to follow and make money off of if you watch closely and choose carefully.

I'm not sure what you're asking.  I'm looking to buy 3.1 BTC for 1580 USD, method of payment is direct deposit into your WF or KB checking account.

Where is Ragingazn628?

I have sent him numerous messages regarding the transferring of ownership of my Avalon chips that I purchased in the first group buy.  He needs to confirm with my buyer that I still indeed am the owner of said chips before I can sell them.  I have noticed that he has been online a few times in the 6 days since first messaging him, but still no reply.  I'm in a bit of a financial situation right now and really need him to respond, and this is kind of worrying me :/  I realize that all of us have other things going on in our lives, but as the handler of our chips, i feel like it should be his responsibility to deal with these type of things...  So Ragingazn, if you are out there, please answer my messages!

Thanks,
John

These chips will be coming from group buy #1.  I bought them with the intention of being able to mine sometime in August, but due to some unfortunate circumstances , I can no longer afford to have 50BTC tied up at the moment.  So I am selling all of the 592 chips that I paid for.  The order number is #10129

Send Payment to:

Confirm payment by posting your transaction(Noitev).

If you would like to buy some chips, state the amount you are buying in a reply to this thread, and pm me with your shipping info.  I will then forward it to ragingazn628.

When it comes time to ship in 8-9 weeks, I will pay the shipping fees on all chips purchased.  If you would like expedited shipping you will have to pay for it yourself.

The rate that I am charging is .085BTC per chip, which works out to 50.32BTC total for all of them.  I payed 47.3BTC for the chips, the extra 3BTC is to cover shipping, which may very well end up being much more than that.

Send payments to:

Don't forget to post your transaction here.

Cheers,

It was a short segment on Bitcoin, probably about 30 seconds.  It all sounded nice and rosy until the very end when the bitch said: "...however, critics of Bitcoin point out that it is susceptible to hacking."  I'm heated.

For what you are saying to be true, the demand would have to increase as well, since the coins that miners will be holding are new coins.  If the coins that are being mined were somehow taken away from other people to be given to the miners, then this would be true.

Re: MTgox add litecoin in 2 month ?

Nope sorry.  No logic.  Neither the wiki nor the poster uses logic.  LTC is going to Gox.  It's time for BTCers to deal with it.  No matter what you say you can't change that LTC is headed to GOX.  Defame all you can it's futile and we all see right through it.

Really?

problem is; its just a copy of btc with holes in it and there is no development behind it to improve upon it.

I wonder, is it susceptible to the same fork we had some weeks ago? Lastest Bitcoin version is patched, but is Litecoin?
The github repo shows no activity in the code for at least 6 months.

Are the contracts implemented in Litecoin?

Are there multisignature transactions?

Is there a block size limit? Will it be removed/modified?

Has anyone looked to add Zerocoin on top of Litecoin?

I see a bunch of dedicated developers for Bitcoin, but I don't really see anything on the Litecoin side, except some people trying to hype it.

IMHO its biggest problem atm: someone arranges 300K half-decent CPUs and the network will be 51%ed, not that difficult for some botnet operators.

If LTC can survive for another 1-2 years, with the network hashrate growing by another 10-fold, I can see it as "here to stay", now it still isn't.

I think in Satoshi's paper, the argument for why you wouldn't expect a 51% attack was that it wouldn't be economical for the attacker. That's still true for Litecoin. You wouldn't make money doing it, you would just cause chaos.

But what if Litecoin got to a point at which it was threatening Bitcoin, and someone decided that by performing a 51% attack on litecoin, crashing the price, their bitcoins could be worth much more money.

My guess is that we will actually(for once) see a real cryptocurrency bubble as people flock to buy Litecoins for "cheap," as they missed out on buying cheap bitcoins.  Then once the price has risen substantially, it will crash, and people will again turn to bitcoin and wonder why they bought litecoin in the first place.  Maybe...
