It's clear message now days don't be poor !
You good no matter what btc or markets are doing CBDC are coming inflation or not rates up or down wars or not If you not poor you will be good no matter what.
Message to people is simple: just don't be poor !! 😎

I mostly agree with this. Nowadays a lot of opportunities are available to anyone who can speak good English and has a decent internet connection in their mobile phone. Even after this, if someone remains poor, then it is solely their fault.

All the hydrocarbon run vehicles can't be replaced with electric vehicles. I don't think that it is possible to manufacture enough EV batteries for that purpose. In the earth's crust, we have a limited amount of lithium, cobalt and nickel available and this amount is not enough to manufacture huge number of batteries. So unless someone comes up with some new battery technology, this is never going to happen.

At this point, only gold has the capability to be used as the reserve currency of the world. Bitcoin and some of the other cryptocurrencies may rise to that role in the future, but right now they are noway near that. Then there are other bullion currencies such as Silver and Platinum. But the issue with these metals is that they don't have enough liquidity to become store of value.

Re: Who will Replace Russian Gas Supplies to Europe?

Technically there is no details defined in NATO treaty about reasons and procedures for expulsion of a member state. They have left it wide open and can interpret it anyway they want. Basically they say in case of "material breach of the treaty" the membership can be revoked. And "material breach of the treaty" can mean anything like war crimes committed by Turkey in Syria.

P.S. At least 16 countries in Europe surpassed double digits inflation so far.

I am not sure about this, but my guess is that Turkey is the second strongest member of NATO, after the United States. On paper, the United Kingdom and France are stronger since they have nuclear weapons. But in terms of military strength and capability, I guess Turkey is ahead of them. Other NATO members such as Germany, Italy and Spain are far behind. I don't think that a majority of the NATO members would like to lose Turkey from the alliance. If the choice is going to be between Sweden and Turkey, then I am sure that it is going to be the latter.

I sense some changes coming in sanctioned oil (Iran as you mentioned, Venezuela possibly).
Reading the news I sense that too but the evidence suggests otherwise.
I can't speak of Venezuela but Iran's sanctions were too long that Iran already found customers to sell oil to (including Europeans!). So in a way there is no need to sell any additional oil to Europe anymore, specially now that Iran is increasing pressure on the West for 43 years of sanctions.

In fact if any sanctions were to be lifted, there is a good chance that mostly Russia oil reaches European markets through Iran.
Hint: A little more than 2 months ago Greece seized an Iranian oil tanker and Iran responded by seizing 2 US oil tankers. The Iranian tanker was actually carrying Russian oil and was heading towards Western Europe.

Already Russians are transporting part of their oil in the stealth mode. Ship-to-ship transfers are taking place and Asian as well as European refineries are being used to produce finished products sourced primarily from the Urals crude.

Very soon stories like this will be reported from all across the world and not just from Argentina and Venezuela. The M1 monetary supply for most of the fiat currencies have increased by manytimes during the last few years. Governments have used COVID as an excuse to print as much money as possible. What we are witnessing now is just the tip of the iceberg. Single digit inflation will soon become a thing of the past and rates of 15%-20% won't be surprising to anyone in the next few years.

Papua New Guinea scored only 62 runs in 19.2 overs. They have already lost 4 wickets. Although I did not think they could win by batting for 272 runs. Even then, if Papua New Guinea can score 200 runs, I think it will be a good collection for them. But now looking at their batting I think they will lose all their wickets in 130-140.

International cricket is moving heavily towards richer boards such as USA and UAE, who can import mercenary players from countries such as India, Pakistan and South Africa. Even here in this match, PNG was fielding a 100% native side. USA didn't had any citizens in their playing XI. But you can clearly see that PNG is not being able to compete against the United States. And this is repeated across all the regions. Even in Europe, teams with 100% expat sides are thrashing those with native players. Same in Asia as well.

Maybe Mozambique is a weak team. But I didn't think any team could perform so badly. Mozambique lost all their wickets for just 17 runs. Only 17! Did any team lose all their wickets for less than that? Or is it the lowest? However, Rwanda Woman won the match without losing a wicket.

I don't know about the records in women's game. But my country once won an ODI matches with 298 balls to spare (out of 300). This match was played in 2006, during the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Trophy. Myanmar batted first and made a total of 10 in 12.1 overs. Nepal chased down the required total in 0.2 overs. But Myanmar made a lot of improvement since then. The national cricket team took part in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games, and managed a victory against Indonesia (although they lost the three other matches - versus Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand).

Here in Nepal, the situation has become really unimaginable. People are dying inside their homes as the medical facilities are not available in rural areas. And in most cases, it is the earning members of the family who are dying and the children become orphans. Even before the pandemic, the poverty levels in Nepal were quite high. And the pandemic has destroyed whatever wealth that was remaining. The situation is really bleak here. A lot of hardship everywhere and we don't know when it will end.

That' would be great for the cricket and for the spectators also.

I wish if ICC could take this advise seriously and implement in coming T20 Worldcup  Wink

The impact of pitch condition on the outcome of the game is always overemphasized in cricket.

That would have been worse if the Pakistani team has lost the match when they were in a good winning situation. Anyways the win is a win. no matter how it comes and it will bring confidence for them in the next match too. Now South Africa will be under pressure playing the do and die match to save the series in their home ground.

Good that Pakistan managed to win in the end. Else we would have seen a repeat of this:

The advantage for Pakistan was that South Africa chokes even more in such situations. The South African bowlers took 4 quick wickets and that put Pakistan in trouble. But after that they surprisingly gave away the advantage. One more wicket at that point could have changed the outcome of the match.

Srilankans were very clear about drawing the match from the very start, guess they didn't even think about chasing the target. 2 back to back draws seems boring in the modern times when teams are pushing for result. Was reading somewhere that its the first series after 2015 which ended up all draw games.

In general the series was very boring. Main players such as Pollard and Russell were not playing for West Indies and for both the teams the scoring rate was very low. It looked as if they are just playing these matches for formality, just to get around the requirements of world test championship. Both these teams are not very good in the longer format. On the other hand the ODI/T20I matches were somewhat OK.

Today's Matches in PSL
The timings are according to PST

This time they don't have a lot of West Indian players. Only a few retired players such as Chris Gayle and second tier players such as Carlos Brathwaite and Sherfane Rutherford are there. If they had managed to sign players such as Pollard or Russell, then it could have given them a much wider audience in the foreign nations (including the big 3 nations). There are a few good names, BTW such as Babar Azam, Imad Wasim and Shoaib Malik among the local players, and Tom Banton, Dale Steyn, Faf du Plessis, David Miller, Chris Lynn, Adam Lyth, David Wiese, Ben Dunk, Rashid Khan, Paul Stirling and Alex Hales among the overseas players.

ETH 2.0 was overhyped much before it was rolled out. The exchange rates went up steeply months before Ethereum 2.0 came out. We still don't know whether the implementation will be successful or not. If it is not successful, then we can expect the prices to fall back to the previous levels, or even go below those levels to around BTC0.010 per coin.

Exactly there are only two choices one is robi and the next is iyer. Rohit is more experienced than iyer but iyer did quite well in this IPL season. Knowing BCCI they will go for Rohit if required but if virat can perform as a captain in the upcoming T20 worldcup then I think they will stick with him.

I would rather prefer Shreyas Iyer over Rohit Sharma. Shreyas is 26 years old and he represents the future of the Indian cricket team. His captaincy was good during the initial phase of the IPL 2020, but later on he made some stupid decisions and received a lot of flak. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma is already 33 years old and he has only 3-4 years left in the international scene.

Alarming news for South Africa Cricket. Their Olympic body taking over CSA under its control and firing existing cricket board, technically government taking over. Implication? According to ICC constitution Cricket board should work as autonomously body and no government interference is allowed, if not then it could lead to ban from the International Cricket. More or less similar thing happened with the Zimbabwe cricket too.

South African Olympic body removes CSA board; takes control of cricket

Zimbabwe received a raw deal from the ICC, as they got suspended and were barred from receiving funds. Do the ICC have courage to do the same with South Africa? Especially at a time when the chairman election is due? These suspensions work only against smaller boards who have small number of supporters and not against larger boards such as South Africa.

Well as I said in the T20 thread, I thought that Australia winning the third T20 match would give them some momentum going into the ODI series
I agree. Hazlewood performed brilliantly with the ball in both the T-20 and ODI formats and it is good to see him back in form so quickly. Marsh is playing consistently well too with the bat. England could have easily won this if someone supported Billings.

Both Bairstow and Billings scored more than half the runs themselves, but the rest fell quickly which is why the English side must be pretty pissed with themselves.

Without Hazlewood, Australia could have easily lost this match. All the other bowlers were expensive, while Hazlewood conceded less than 3 runs per over in a match where the average run rate was almost double that figure. In two months, Australia will be playing a test match against Afghanistan. I expect Hazlewood to be included in the playing XI, along with Starc and Cummins.

Re: Will African countries be developed?
by

on 16/08/2020, 11:13:35 UTC
African as a whole was among  the best developed in the world, some years back.  But, right now they have failed to increase human experience and awareness of the world around him.if  African can avoid  corruption or see corruption as an evil to them, they can still be among the best countries in the world.

Some years back? Definitely not. For the last few thousands of years, Africa has lagged behind in development. Initially the human civilization developed in China, India, Egypt, Japan and Mesopotamia. Europe was lagging behind but the renaissance during the middle ages allowed them to catch up. There were well developed civilizations in the new world (Aztecs, Mayas and Incas), but these were destroyed by the Europeans. Africa was nowhere in the picture.

Good to see the match is in progress and i hope the weathers stays like this all day. England have lost their first wicket and they were close to losing their 2nd wicket too but the review from Pakistan got rejected.  Also umpires need to review the light from time to time as it is looking little dark from the Tv screen.

It is raining and the umpires have taken the decision to suspend play. Also bad light seems to be an issue at Southampton. I am not sure whether play will be possible for the remainder of the day. England batsmen looked very vulnerable against the swing and seam of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Abbas. It is going to be tough for them.

Re: Bounty hunters United we stand
by
RamBahadur.Gurung
on 12/06/2020, 17:24:03 UTC
It's better to just find your taste, not all bounties will be able to use limited participants or fixed tokens, all you can do if find what suits you, some bounty managers can be so stubborn that your reasons won't be good enough for them, in this case nothing can change it

If you strictly adhere to the rules, then I don't think that the bounty campaign manager can deny you the reward using some flimsy excuses. But in some cases, they may change the rules when the campaign is about to end. Such scams happen all the time with bounties. In such cases, you can protest against it. If they refuse to roll back the changes, then you need to go for arbitration.
