I'm getting "Error! Withdraws are momentarily disabled." since this morning.  When can I expect to be able to withdraw?

I appreciate that Google is being proactive on this.

One question, though...I noticed it because my phone couldn't connect to e-mail.  When I logged in from the web site, it told me about the "suspicious activity" and had me change my password.  Had I not noticed and done this, and had someone hacked my password (not possible, since I didn't use the same password for MtGox as I did on Gmail, both were independently generated random strings), wouldn't they have just gotten to pick my "new" Gmail password when they logged in with the old one?

Can you still mine Bitcoins if your computer is turned off?

Of course not.  The whole mining operation is using your CPU or GPU's processing power, that requires that they be turned on (and consuming a significant amount of electricity).

I feel that bitcoins should have an expiration date imposed on them to encourage usage and discourage hording.
You wouldn't like it if your cash had an expiration date.  Smiley
Anyway, that couldn't work, you could just make a new wallet and send the coins there to "renew" them.  No way to tell if they're being passed to a new person/business when they're used in a transaction.

Is anyone else having trouble solo mining with RC6?

I keep getting this:
Code:
bitcoin-miner 0.10  Copyright (c) 2011 Ufasoft  http://ufasoft.com/open/bitcoin
Mining for http://localhost:8332
1 threads       Using SSE2
0 MHash/s     Error 80072EE2:  The operation timed out

Once I try to start a miner, the bitcoin.exe (or bitcoind.exe if I run that) process pegs the CPU until I end-task it.  (Exiting makes the GUI go away, but the process keeps running with the CPU pegged.)

It used to work, and I have the proper username and password in my bitcoin.conf.

When you hit the "Pay Me Now" button, are there any transaction fees? (like 0.01 BTC?)

I just paid out my balance, and I wasn't charged any fees.  It was a little less than 2 BTC, though.  I haven't heard anywhere that fees are charged.  You could try it with a small amount and see what happens.

Looks like the US pool is down.  All of my miners died with a failed HTTP request, and the pool's current hashrate is showing as 0.0.

So much for my experiment with this pool that I started yesterday.  Back to deepbit, I guess.
