Re: [BIG EVENT] BITCOIN IS NOW A LEGAL PAYMENT METHOD AND A CURRENCY IN THE EU !!!!!

Yeah this news is a really big deal. This is truly huge, prob some of the best news we have had all year relating to Bitcoin in my opinion. I suspect it might take some time for the gravity of this to truly sink in. I also suspect that many of us have grown somewhat desensitized from all of the good news and have started to adopt the thinking that good news is paradoxically linked to a price drop. I am hoping that this news will break that trend.

Exactly what I thought, that's pretty sad in my opinion.

Reddit is in the same case, biggest upvoted post on /r bitcoin are some gif, funny images and unrevelant news. But when the time come for something real, nobody reacts, they're all like "yeah that's cool".

Nah guys, it's not "just cool", this is the biggest victory Bitcoin had since its creation.

Shadow Bug & Bounty Program

Donation Address: SdcbugSrxsYSBzxB2cVfiAYdqwjftLBaF1

According to Linus’ Law, “given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow”. That’s one of the reasons why Shadow’s source code is publicly available; but merely making the source code available doesn’t accomplish anything if people don’t read it!

For this reason, Shadow has a series of bug bounties. Similar to the bounties offered by Mozilla and Google, Shadow bug bounties provide an opportunity for people who find bugs to be compensated. Unlike those programs, however, Shadow’s bounties are not limited to security vulnerabilities.

Depending on the type of bug and when it is reported, different bounties will be awarded. Bounties are paid out in SDC, at the 3-day average of each to a fixed US Dollar value.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bug Bounties and Rewards

$1500

Deanonymize ShadowChat or ShadowSend (proof that a protocol is not anonymous)

$750

A flaw in the protocol that allows for theft or loss of funds

$500

A bug in the reference client that leads to consensus issues

$250

A bug which causes data corruption or loss

$100

A bug which causes the application to crash

$50

Other non-harmless bugs

$10

‘Harmless’ bugs, e.g. cosmetic errors

*Bounties will be paid out for bugs found in the master branch of the official GitHub repositories.

Support the Shadow Project in its #FightForPrivacy!

As some of you may know our community has set up a thunderclap campaign to raise more awareness for Shadow Project and the importance of fighting for your own privacy. Over the past 2 weeks we have been asking people to support the campaign by donating social reach using Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr accounts. In less than 2 weeks we managed to get a social reach of 1,300,000 people. This is something we should all be really proud of!

Thunderclap contest! Support and win SDC!

In order to reward all supporters the Shadow Community has kindly decided to hold a competition to support the #FightForPrivacy campaign. We have set up a wallet and added price money (SDC) that will be handed out to 5 people that have supported the #FightForPrivacy Thunderclap campaign. At this moment, already more than 2800 SDC has been donated into a donation address. When our Thunderclap message is blasted out we will pick 5 winners from the list of supporters. These winners will all receive a 20% share of the total amount that is on the wallet at that time. This means that everybody who wants to support the campaign can contribute by sending new donations to the wallet makings things more interesting for all supporters. To give new supporters some extra time to support and join the contest we have moved the launch date to the 10th of may.

Please support the campaign and encourage your friends who care about privacy to do the same. Together, we can let the world know how the Shadow Project will help us #FightForPrivacy!

I can enter the contest but how will you provide fairness? How will we know that you didn't give the prices to people you know?
Also I don't want my full name published by you.

It hasn't been yet decided how we will run the selection process, and I have no intentions of giving the prices to anyone other than randomly selected participants. If you or anyone have any ideas how the selection process could be run to prove fairness, I'd be happy to hear them.

Thanks for this awnser.

Folks, we're open to your suggestions !

Hello everybody,

It’s good to see you all so actively supporting Shadow and staying positive as we work towards the release of our decentralized market. As some of you may have noticed, we’ve been a bit quiet on these forums lately when it comes to actively reaching out to all of you with development updates. This doesn’t mean we’ve been sitting still though, because we have a fun week ahead of us. We'll come back to that later.

First of all we are very happy to announce that both Tecnovert and I will be working full-time on Shadow from now on! We're setting our main jobs aside for the upcoming months so that we can really focus on the job at hand. This will obviously result in quicker progress when it comes to releasing new features. Going forward we are also going to post a lot more in terms of development reports. Our team has been working with Shadow community members who are setting up a new website with a development blog to keep you all up to date. So expect regular updates from now on - this one being the first.

The weeks ahead of us are all about ShadowMarket so we are pleased to announce that we have started integrating it into Shadowcore’s back end. We're currently switching from scrypt to SHA-256 so that staking requires less cpu cycles, updating to PoS v2 to improve network stability and working on BIP32 and BIP44 support so that we can support hierarchical / tree categories for the market. Once we are finished with these enhancements, things should start moving significantly faster. We will be making radical changes to the Secure Messaging (ShadowChat), to support Pub/Sub messages, so that people could subscribe to certain categories for the market, where we will then move towards our first round of public alpha/beta testing. We’ve noticed there are lots of questions about how ShadowMarket will work so we have begun gathering them and will answer them in an overview later this week. So much about the upcoming Shadowmarket for now.

We are all still waiting for Isidor Zeuner’s review of our ShadowSend anonymity system in comparison to other anonymous cryptocurrencies. It is still ongoing and we are currently writing more documentation, which is currently our weakest point. We’ve been in contact with Isidor and are trying to give him a helping hand where needed. Please note that it’s quite a task seeing as he will not only study our system but also compare it to the alternatives out there.

As said earlier, we have a fun week ahead of us. We will try to give more specific details on that later this week.

Thank you all for your support!

By the way, the ShadowCash dev' team and community is now using Slack, you better come here for the upcoming annoncements !

True and true. I explained further on this thread. There is a brand of scam that involves cloning something with no substance and then pumping it (for example several hundred alts). There is another brand of scam that involves doing some development and then promoting it in an aggressive and deliberately misleading and deceptive way (for example SDC or BCN, although BCN's substantive contribution to cryptotechnology was vastly more than SDCs).

You are completly wrong on that, please stop making false asumptions just based on your point of view. You should research more deeply into that, have you ever talked to Ryno or a Shadow developer ? Lot of false ideas on Shadow can be seen everywhere on this forum, but it's not making it reals.

For example I always thought that Monero had a bigger team than Shadow (because everyone says that) and weirdly at David presentation yesterday in Paris I discovered that Monero team is the same size as Shadow's (yes, real developers ^^").

I really hate this stupid fight between Monero and Shadow, I am the one who suggested to David to take part in yesterday fintech meetup in Paris to present Monero, I don't see the point in fighting like that. Monero is focusing more on the currency use when Shadow is looking more at the blockchain use. There is no reason to fight, we could help each other, that's what open-source projects are for  Smiley

p.s: For me it doesn't apply to DASH, which is looking more and more like a company owning a blockchain.
p.s.2: Yes, some SDC supporters are promoting the coin everywhere, because they've seen that this project is solid, but not enough recognized. It may be a bad communication move, but you should understand that, i've seen monero supporters doing that a lot on DRK threads.
I confirm that I have excellent relations with ffmad and it is thank to him that I was able to make a lasting (and positive) impression on both the audience and the organisator yesterday.

I'm all about burying the hatchet, but this requires all to work on this (XMR fans or SDC fans.
- stop using derogative terms
- get rid of fanboys (reminder fanboy != fan)
- recognize that people (and project) change and that what you are doing now matters more than what you did in the past. Jimmy Wales or in France Xavier Niel made money with porn. Now they run Wikipedia and the most disruptive French ISP. Elon Musk was Paypal; now he is SpaceX and Tesla Motors.
- be serious in willing to cooperate. This means changing your mind, understanding that some things are not technically feasible and move to those wich are.
- learn from your mistakes, other's mistakes and other's successes
- with great powers come great responsabilities. Dev lead by example. If they don't intervene, someone else (most probably a fanboy) will do. And this sucks. If dev don't want to intervene, then someone entrusted and willing to deal with human relationship shall step in. AFAIK, ffmad is this person.

And yes, I'm tired of this too. I really only know ffmad on SDC and he is a great guy. Sure, he has to improve his spoken performance (:-)) but ihe is well-mannered,  devoted, genuinely interested. A lot of people in crypto should learn from him. Yes, I'm biased because we happen to live i the same city and to meet often but this exactly what you should hink about; we have the opportunity to have very-large-bandwith interactions (IRL meetings). This helps. You should try it sometimes.

I think there's nothing more to say for the continuity of this thread.

Can we drop the egos and start acknowledging that Shadow is the only coin worth investing.

You see guys, this is EXACTLY the kind of thing that does NOT represent the shadow community at all.
So please, don't take seriously what all fanboys of XMR, DRK or SDC side are saying and start having real discussions.

While cryptoworld is absolutly nothing in 2015, this nothing is already a battlefield because somes want to make their own tiny peanuts becoming a small small ant in the world of currencies and for what ? For nothing.

In all the project on the altcoin section, maybe one or two will become an ant. So what is the point of this insane amount of hate here ?

Anon coins war, the biggest loss of grey matter in the History of Humanity.

Agreed. If everyone took a week off from Crypto the world wouldn't even notice.

Well, it would be great. Maybe the altcoin market would not look so dried...
