Re: Don't go to ICO!i was cheated again!

The problem is that around 95% of ICO do fail. Either they are not able to raise the amount they initially have desired. Or they have raised it, but the project idea failed. Or it's just the market bringing down the whole project and token price. There is always a risk when investing into ICOs. That's the reason everybody is saying: "Only invest what you can afford to lose".

Re: ICO's should accept more altcoins other than ETH and BTC

Agree on that. On the other hand managing and in the end cashing out all the coins can be quite a mess. Imagine you offer "Dogecoin" and you raised 2 million USD with it. How are you going to dump it, if the trading volume is so low, that dumping it would give you less than 2 milllion USD.

Re: Stable Coins

For the new people in crypto like you, let me list some real stable coins.

Decred
Binance Coin
Ravencoin
Tezos
Ravencoin
Metaverse ETP

Tether
TrueUSD

Agree on that. For now only Tether and TrueUSD are stable. The others are still going up or down with BTC. With the current market BTC up does not mean, alts are going up to, but mostly alts will go down, when BTC goes down. Strange market. If you want to play safe, go with Tether and TrueUSD.

Re: How many trades do you make daily?

I got lazy. Did about 5-10 back in december and january. But with the market being down, I lost some interest and just hodl it all the way down and hopefully back up again. It's the best thing you can do when you don't want to spend that much time daily on analysis and "gambling".

Re: Progress of Ripple and Steem in 2018

I'm currently invested in Steem (or let's say Steempower) for the passive income and the higher voting power. Currently it is not doing that good. Lost some bit of value and keeps losing, but I hope we get back up soon. Also had some XRP, but mostly sold them for more Steem. I think Steem will grow in the future, as more and more new users will join this platform.

Well we lost a bit and fell below the 8k again. The problem I see is that the alts did not follow when BTC ran up (lost in BTC value). And now while BTC is dropping, alts are either also dropping or staying at the same BTC-level, meaning they lose in USD-value. Not quite nice to watch.

Re: When your token goes down hard, are you going to sell it?
by

I'm mostly -70% with my tokens. Still holding. After all I did invest what I could afford to lose. So I'm going to ride it from the top, to the bottom and back to the top.
I still believe that crypto is still in its infancy and will grow even more in the future.

Re: Airdrops are worth it !!!!

95% of airdrops I did were worth like 1$ or less. But the other 5%, some of them were worth more than 50$. Byteball, Helbiz and some more were quite impressive.
I'd say if you have time and choose projects you think are great, you have great chances of making good free money with less effort.

Re: Market has returned or not?

Seems like only Bitcoin has somewhat returned, while altcoins mostly did not. Also I'm not sure if it is only a BItcoin pump and we will go back to 6k with alts bleeding even more.
That would be horrible for all investors/all hodlers. I hope Bitcoin pushes to 10k+ with altcoins following this time.

Quite interesting method to increase the karma. But are upvotes for bounties normally not pegged to the crypto-related post?
In most times only posts in a specific subreddit will count. So having that much karma won't give you that much more profit.

Re: Is the market recovering or just a big joke?
by

Still no real recovery in my opinion although Bitcoin has hit 8k. The problem is that the alts are still bleeding. While Bitcoin rises, altcoin loses. Now Bitcoin just dropped below 8k shortly and the alts started to bleed even more.

Re: Is altcoin is too riscky to invest now ?

I think that it's almost time to invest back in the alts. Bitcoin had a short run to 8k+ while the alts started to bleed.
Once the bigger player move their coins back to the alts, they will recover in BTC pair quite fast. This was also last december the case.
So just keep an eye on the alts and slowly start to move back in. That's my opinion, not an advice.

Re: With how much should i start
by
Rano
on 26/07/2018, 16:32:09 UTC
Start with a small amount, play with it and when you think that you understand crypto, then you go higher. Also don't invest more than you can afford to lose.
After all crypto is still a gamble and a project where you are investing, can shut down at any time.

Re: Why to Invest in ICO?
by
Rano
on 26/07/2018, 09:22:50 UTC
Because some projects really are promising and blockchain technology is currently still in its infancy. Once adopted, the first mover will have great advantages with at the same time the investors profiting from it.
But sadly almost 90% or even more are not worth investing, because the project won't succeed. Many projects simply also joined the blockchain through the hype back in december without having a great use-case. Those projects will sadly fail.

Re: seling or holding your altcoin ?
by
Rano
on 26/07/2018, 08:35:51 UTC
Well it was a good idea to sell altcoins into Bitcoin. Recently Bitcoin is pumping a bit again, while altcoins are falling. The reason for that is probably due to the ETF news, but also because people are now jumping back on Bitcoin to get some profits, before jumping back into the alts later on.

Re: Should I buy TRON or ETH?
by
Rano
on 26/07/2018, 08:31:59 UTC
I would go with Ethereum, since it is already established and has a real usecase.
On the other hand I think that Tron might bring better short-term profits due to pumps. So if you are going to hold a coin without trading, go with Ethereum, otherwise if you trade a lot, go with Tron.

Re: Top 3 altcoins to invest in NOW
by
Rano
on 26/07/2018, 08:30:27 UTC
I would go with XRP, ADA and XLM though since they are all promising projects with a lot of news and partnerships recently. Personally I also hold some Steem, because I use this platform quite often recently and get quite good passive income with it. With the bullrun hopefully upcoming, this will be even more worth in regards of passive income.

Re: Is Bitcoin at 25000 possible?

It is possible and we might even see it this year. With ETF starting and when it gets approved I see even higher possibilities. I hope we see another bull run again like last year.
Crypto after all is still in its infancy and there is plenty room to grow.

Re: How important is a community behind a crypto project?
by
Rano
on 25/07/2018, 20:07:04 UTC
In my opinion it is very important. A good community supports the project and promotes it, if it is legit and the team is working hard on it.
On the other hand a community can also destroy a project, once it feels the developers are either too greedy or don't keep word on their deadlines.

Re: why are you now joining cryptocurrency, where were you in 2009?
by
Rano
on 25/07/2018, 20:05:06 UTC
I was there, had some Bitcoins, but sold them off to buy a gaming computer. At that time I was super happy. Today I would have almost 1 million USD if I had hodled.
But well, you never know and people are normally greedy.
