Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option

I am new to mining. I own a ASUS Strix 1080Ti which I want to give a try for mining. I searched this forum for what to mine and I found most recent recommendations about zcash. On other side I also checked on nicehash for hassle free mining.
What do you guys suggest?

I'd suggest Verge or ZCoin (not ZCash). Or general Lyra2v2v or neoscrypt mining on something like Hashrefinery. Make sure you download the correct miners and tweak your card for the best power to hash ratio for the specific algo you are mining.

Re: AMD Ryzen hashrate?

So I built the rig with Ryzen 5 1600 (without X) - and was quite amazed. That thing is performing even better than my other 1600X CPUs Cheesy I get stable 560 H/s from it - again at 3.8 Ghz. I guess it was a lucky pick of the CPU.

If You get below 500 (around 450 H/s) on Your 1600 CPUs - I may know where problem is. Im not sure if I should tell You - cause Youll be taking away my profits by mining better Cheesy But I am a good person so Ill tell You. (You can alway send me some monero scraps to: 4JUdGzvrMFDWrUUwY3toJATSeNwjn54LkCnKBPRzDuhzi5vSepHfUckJNxRL2gjkNrSqtCoRUrEDAgR wsQvVCjZbRwc3EtMhPPX3gZ4daM ) Cheesy

1st - follow this guide and unlock large pages in Win (https://www.usxmrpool.com/#easy_mining_guide)
2nd - cause You have 8 possible threads (16 MB L3) - but just 6 cores - it DOES matter on which cores You do the mining. Cause two cores will be under heavier load. And Windows uses cores from "beginning" - so usually core 1 and 2. If You put 2 threads on these two first cores - Youll see lower hashrates.

so configure xmr-stak-cpu like this:
{ "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 0 },
{ "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 2 },
{ "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 4 },
{ "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 6 },
{ "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 8 },
{ "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 9 },
{ "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 10 },
{ "low_power_mode" : false, "no_prefetch" : false, "affine_to_cpu" : 11 },

when I had it 0/1/2/3/4/6/8/10 - my hashrates were in those 450 ranges

hope it helps

I have the same CPU and tried the same setup - only getting 345 for hash, even though I've set the lock pages and launched the miner with admin privileges

I'm using DJM ccminer_cuda9.exe and it works fine.

Is there anything to be gained by loading the actual nvidia cuda software?

Only if you're going to develop your own miner. Smiley

How long will it take to recover my capital for building a $5000 rig?

Hard to say. Let's say you get the best Cryptonight GPUs, like 5x AMD Vega 56/64 and you learn how to tweak them for best hash and lowest power (so, about 2000-2200MH each card).

Even then, it will depend on the markets, BTC/ETH/LTC price, Monero/Electroneum price, maybe a new high profit coin shows up, maybe it all tanks.

Then it depends on the cost of the parts in your area and the cost of electricity.

Maybe 3 moths. Maybe 12 months. It's hard to say.

supr nova is closing

Is there many other pool that offers z-coin mining. I hate miningpoolhub, the pool operator is a thief who steals 1/2 my earnings compared to supr nova.
Can you proof it? For my experience - it`s suprnova steals but not the miningpoolhub. At least the miningpoolhub steals not so much as suprnova.

By the way, I hope you see the irony in your post - you are demanding proof yet accusing 2 large, trusted pools of theft without proof.
As you can see - I`m answering to the post that "accusing large, trusted pool". By the way, my words are based on my experience. I compared both pools and can repeat what i said - profit from supernova less then profit  from mph on the same cards, miners.

And others have the opposite experience. So, does that still mean they are "stealing" from you?

@Rashkae

Indeed. Currently using sniffy on ashashpool ~ its okay.
How about u?

Mining zcoin, I like the low power usage lol

Might just point at a generic Neoscrypt pool though.

well, that is a really bad situatin actually
is suprnova did not created an alternative pool for z coin, that means we are really in trouble now
cause all traffic comes for the whole coins comes to one pool.
that is a very dangerous situation actually
hm, maybe developers of zcoin could start their own pool? as alternative?

He listed these:

Available Pools:

http://pool.mn/xzc
http://xzc.maxminers.net/

Try opening those links xD

UGH

Suprnova has been very reliable and honest. I've always received more coins/hash on there than on other pools.

So, I definitely managed to push 70MH/sec from each of my cards.

https://imgur.com/a/PMZIK

The power draw went up significantly though but it's possible.

Yeah it's pretty straightforward...

Tierd of ZCoin - very inconssistent.
Went from 1.2 XZC/day to 0.7

What do you guys recommend next?
ORE? GBX?

Thanks
All VIVO clones are shitcoins and will be at 1sat some day.

Thanks for your reply - but it does not answer my question

The recommended coins can shift by the hour.... If you are unsure, just use hashrefinery at skein (power efficient) or just use nemosminer and let it figure it all out for you.

How much are making off of that, what is your break even time on the card?

Depends on your power bill and how willing you are to learn how to tweak.

I plan to mine vertcoin with my 6xgtx 1080ti Asus strix. Could you please tell me what is better mining software alexis ccminer or that Nanashi-Meiyo-Meijin v2.2 miner?
What are your settings for lyra2v2 with highest hashrates?
What is the best pool to use?
Thanks in advance
I use ccminer 1.8.3. This is the version from OneClickMiner. Gives me the best performance.
~68MH/s per 1080TI (Zotac AMP something)

running with default settings.

I use "private" p2pool. Public p2pool give me to many payouts.
If you want to join, drop me a PM Wink

That's pretty bad, most of us were getting 72MH at 80% TDP and 78 at 100% TDP.
I really don`t think you get 72mh

So are you gonna share details with us ?

If you haven't realized yet, there are actually many very helpful people on here. You, on the other hand, doubt people and when proven wrong, demand they share the basic research they did.

You gotta check your attitude if you need handholding.

Details shared many times already. People told you to look a couple pages back. A simple Google search also shows the right miner to use.
