Well it was pretty good while it lasted, but I was just informed they've "suspended" their hosting and want to send my miners to me. Great, just in time for the high BTC prices...

Any others had this happen? Any advice on having them shipped back? I have 2x M21S.

Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 253 blocks solved!

So I thought I would give the lottery a try today.  Enabled my NiceHash account and when I place an order I get a red message that User order temporary locked.  What does this mean and why can't I place an order?

That happened to me and I had to contact support. Took them a couple of days, but they fixed it. No idea why it happened.

OK so I said screw it.  IF they don't want my 12PH rental I'll put the BTC back in my wallet.  Low and behold, my withdrawals are locked as well.  Seems that if you add F2A or change your password everything is locked for 7 days.
That friggan' SUCKS!!  So much for my 12PH rental and my BTC that is now locked there for a week.

I was able to rent here is rental

http://solo.ckpool.org/users/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

Seems the issue is I updated my password and added F2A.  That locks your account for 7 days.

Did you contact support? They took care of my issue in 2 days.

Hope this pool can update its interfaces and stats at some point, depending on the port your hashing on stats are not displayed for 4334 and is for 3333 among the other ports also doing the same. Not able to set static diff, could use some TLC on updates.

Huh? I pointed some rental hashrate to it on 4334 and saw my stats no problem. Also if you look through this thread the pool is really being run at a courtesy.

Is there anywhere that the "pool luck" is displayed?
I dont see it in the pool stats.
Thanks,

But it's a solo pool, so I do not think it would work like that?

In addition to my own low power A841 I've pointed here for a while,
I'm also tossing 10PH rental for the next 12 hours.

Let's try to get that block..!

Where are you guys renting from? I've thought about doing this every so often, but never did as I've been leery of rentals.

C13 connector on one end, but what do you need on the other? Did I miss that?

I fail to see the problem or specific support request you are answering, but I do not feel like extending this disagreement. Just pointing out some hypocrisy. I am glad you're an advocate, but just be consistent in your application of opinions.

I don't see why not, but since you went with the official Bitmain firmware, you are offtopic in this thread Smiley

I'm not sure you should lecture about being off topic after you posted in my Bitmain firmware thread Smiley

Re: Too hot to mine bitcoin?
by
Raymond_B
on 04/07/2019, 02:53:27 UTC
Here in Las Vegas NV it will be 106F on Friday. It regularly gets this hot. Is it too hot to mine bitcoin? For example https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=00020190523094505293o4NeN5iR068F

The specs on the S17 say max "operation temp" 40C

I can maybe affordably lower the temp with an evaporative cooler, or might be better off just venting to outside?

I am in Texas so I have somewhat similar temps. My answer is no, it is not too hot to mine BTC with ASICs. If you search for posts by me you'll see some different things I've done to deal with the heat. The biggest thing is to ensure that the miners do not ingest their own waste heat. My S9s mine happily when room temps are 40 deg C no problem. Besides airflow the latest firmware settings allow you to down-clock the miner which is very helpful in the heat.

So what is the equivalent of LMP mode for this firmware? Is it the 'Hashrate Unchanged Lower Voltage' setting?

I would say it's best to test as each miner is a bit different, but the "Unchanged Lower Voltage" was close as was the -1 Th/S setting. One just above and one just below.

@Mikeywith, you might want to slow down and re-read the post.

Unlike the majority of members on this forum , I do read every single detail related to the person who is seeking help, I helped a dozen of people here , you telling me this is like implying I simply rush to answer which is never the case.

reading the OP only ( as many people do) is WRONG , there is a newer post in which he states the following.

i cant access the UI i mean it dosent show up on modem router ,
even when i replaced the original fan it is same,

I am not sure if you ever owned a miner, but the control board must get an IP address and show up even without a fan , he must fix this problem first , there is a good chance that there is nothing wrong with the fan, and the only way to know this is to get to see the miner UI.

I am not saying Bitmaxz is wrong and that the fan problem ( if there is any) shouldn't be fixed , but use your common sense, your car won't start and your first priority is to fix the radio, good 'effing luck  Roll Eyes

While we're on the subject of common sense...

To use your own analogy, if I work on my car and change something and now my car won't start common sense say you go back and check what you did. In this person's case they cut the FAN plug, not the patch cable as you incorrectly ASSumed and even went on to say "I don't quite understand what do you mean by changing the old plug, do you mean the male (RJ45) or the Female (socket) ,...." So again slow down.

Oh and BTW if you actually read posts here you'd see plenty from me and know that yes, I do own miners.

@Mikeywith, you might want to slow down and re-read the post. The OP cut the **fan** plug because the new did not match the old.

I am with BitMaxz on this one, the new incorrectly wired fan is causing/caused the issue as even if there's no network connectivity the miner will go through it's checks.

You've got some networking things mixed up here, but to keep this post on subject slushpool.com is a group of load balanced web servers and NOT the pool servers (which are load balanced themselves). Below are Slush's pool servers from their website.

And using the PsPing command voila we see a pool server (Thanks Kano for this info on *your* pool page https://kano.is/index.php)

As wonderful as it sounds it's still 3rd party software. Which will discourage some miners and pool operators. I am not personally knocking it, just stating that.

I have S11s running on slushpool on the same internet connection, how can it work fine for S11 and not for S9?!

I don't use Slush and this might already have been fixed, but could you be running in to something like this? What firmware are you running? Maybe you need to change to one that does not have issues?
