Hi,

I am Busoni admin of Polo Exchange,

we have been reading through your thread and are wondering if you would like to be added to our exchange. We feel we could bring a lot of attention to your project from our customer base.

We currently offer:

Coin addition: 1 BTC
Holding of ICO: 2 BTC

Please let us know how you feel of our offer,

Regards
Tristan D’iagosta

It claims to be from  Tristan D’ agosta
at email
poloneixexchange@gmail.com

IP
86.45.252.233
 is in  Ireland, Laois, Portlaoise
is not a proxy. Is sent from a mobile network.

While I'm sure the person at the other end of this email would take my Bitcoin if I responded enthusiastically, I'm sure it would not result in my coin BipCoin being listed on Poloniex Exchange.

First, that's not Tristan's email. I know Tristan's email address because a friend whose coin is on Poloniex gave me an introduction. Tristan's email is not a gmail address.

Second, I doubt anyone at Poloniex Exchange has a gmail address that misspells "Poloniex"!  lol.

Just wanted to give a heads up for any other altcoin devs who recieve the same scammy message. It's not Poloniex. And these people will probably come up with a different email now that spells Poloniex right, like
PoloniexTristan@gmail.com
or something like that.

Poloniex company email addresses are not gmail addresses.

Sounds like they wanna make some money when people don't do their research properly. Polo wouldn't offer this also, it'd cost more.

Re: Year 2017. Poloniex vs. Bittrex vs. Kraken service comparison

I want to ask everyone for their personal experiences in Bittrex, Poloniex and Kraken. I have heard many isolated incidents about one of those exchanges but I want to hear it from you for the benefit of the newbies who are looking for a safe and dependable altcoin exchange.

Please post your favorite exchange and give your rating from 1 to 5.

But also feel free to add other exchanges you have had experience with.
1. Bittrex is okay with volume, ive used them.
2. Polo is not that good since they limit your withdrawals now unless you send personal info....
3. Never used Krak.

Re: Bitcoin up altcoin dump
by

Actually the cryptocurrency market is so complicated to understand and hard to predicted.
I can say it is feel like random market and even manipulateable , so the topic is wrong for me personally.
Yes when there will be more possibility of manipulations, I guess we cannot expect any specific patterns to happen all the times. I mean to say we cannot expect all the times bitcoin and altcoins to be get traded in opposite directions. Because there are occasions where few of altcoins that being traded in same directions and in some other occasions just the resiprocal was happening.

The prime reason for this must be insiders and their heavy manipulations. Random movements must be the right term to be called for these markets.
Insiders for cryptocurrency is unlikely. There are too many factors that go contribute to bitcoin price movements, unlike the stock market where someone can have access to quarterly reports ahead of the public. I'd be more scared of pump and dump groups manipulating the market.

Re: Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money?
by
Razzoel
on 02/06/2017, 08:10:35 UTC
In investing terms you need to keep holding it and wait patiently for the good price, you dont need to sell it after you buy. Just like gold, it is more expendive in the future. You dont need to make rush but you need to wait. Wait for the coming better price in the future. Holding bitcoin in a long time is a good way to make money. It is so obvious in the question. So, it is better to hold.

Agree but to be honest when the panic selling wave comes in to the market picture, it is very difficult for an new investors to keep calm and stay with his holdings. It works like domino and thus price falls drastically. Ideally, if someone has bought bitcoins for the long term then he should not worry about short term market movements. I used to find myself in panic selling wave in first few weeks of my investing.
The best practice is to not look at the prices, which is hard to do. Seeing the price change is what makes us emotional. it takes a lot of patience to be able to hold an investment and not look at the price. Just remember that if everyone is selling, you should be looking to buy more at lower prices.

You can find some experienced traders on trading view. Unfortunately a lot of "experienced traders" are just marketers trying to sell you their course. they dont actually do any trading im pretty sure because they are way to busy posting videos and marketing. Trading is a full time job, real traders dont have time to market themselves, not to mention, if they were actually good traders making insane profits, why take any students?

Re: Bitcoin/Altcoin Portfolio strategies
by
Razzoel
on 02/06/2017, 07:56:10 UTC
When pursuing a buy-and-hold strategy investing in crytocurrencies, what are the best practices for diversifying among them?
i diversify my money not my bitcoin.
i invest my money in different things and bitcoin is one of them. and when you say buy and hold for cryptocurrencies in general that is not going to work for any of the altcoins.

Quote
Ie.
Own by market cap' weight?
market cap is meaningless for altcoins because they can easily manipulate it by creating a huge amount of supply while not releasing any of it on the market (like ethereum and ripple); so no.

Quote
Own 10% of top ten (by market cap')?
the same, but being on top gives these altcoins a certain kind of higher volume which others don't have and that will slow down any kind of rise and fall. so you can go in with a tiny bit more confidence.

Quote
Own varying percentages of your top 5 favourite projects?
this is not bad, but i personally prefer not owning any altcoin for any long period of times. that is less risky.

Quote
90% Bitcoin, 10% new ICOs?
ICOs in general is a bad idea for investment.
the risks are much higher and the reward is not something to die for.
A lot of ICOs are scams trying to rip off investors. That being said, there is definitely profit opportunities there, you just have to do your research.

I've heard a lot of bad things about binary trading. for 1 its basically gambling but instead of a random number generator they use the market. Second, the Risk/Reward Ratio is extremely low; below 1 always because the house needs to make money. I wouldn't recommend it. With your high success rate, Im guessing you have a knack for reading the market. I think you would make more money more safely just trading regularly.

I'd put all of your money into an altcoin that has potential to get pumped. You wont make any money going long on bitcoin or any established coins. Finding an altcoin and waiting until it explodes is the best way of making money if you are starting out with a small amount. worry about diversification after you make profits.

Re: How do you manage ur emotions?
by
Razzoel
on 02/06/2017, 07:49:40 UTC
Emotional management comes from having strict trading rules and trading experience. You shouldn't be buying into positions on a whim. instead you should know exactly when to buy, where to sell and where to put your stop loss at. if you do it this way, trading becomes less emotional and much more controllable because it is based on math. Good traders don't gamble, they do all the calculations before they make their move.

Re: ARBITRAGE: Bitstamp -> CEX.IO - Proof of Concept
by
Razzoel
on 02/06/2017, 07:48:20 UTC
Instead of trying to arbitrage with FIAT, why not arbitrage with coin pairs?  There seem to be large enough differences between exchanges that it could be profitable. Also, less fees and faster transfers because it is all in crypto mean that one can probably cycle the arbitrage over and over again.
bter does not allow btc withdrawals.

and all the prices you see there are "last prices". This means nothings.
btcmarkets for example has a spread from 0.09 to 0.096. So you wont get 0.0933 as you see in screenshot.
There is no arbitrage profit in crypto to crypto markets, cause it is that easy to do and many many bots are doing this already.

I wouldnt say that there is no arbitrage in different crypto markets. There are small price differences time to time. You just have to keep your eyes open. Its not an easy way to make profit, but easy money doesn't exist anyways unless you get lucky.
