This should be done in coordination with https://www.weusecoins.com/, the website could be improved with more detailed or just different information.
Open Bitcoin Trader will be an open-source cross-platform desktop application allowing Bitcoin trading on most exchanges. It will also provide tools like charts and much more.
OpenBitcoinTrader will be using cryptocoin-tradelib, a Java libary implementing the APIs of many exchanges.

I have thought of something similar.
A site where several people can offer up trading with price and icons for the different ways that they will accept cash (wire, bank deposit, ing p2p, dwolla, etc).
It could provide tools and APIs for both seller and buyer to help them more easily trade on their own.
And of course, allow for ratings and statistics on each person's trades to help people get a better feel for who is the most trustworthy.
Though with FinCEN saying that any currency conversion requires a license, it could severely limit any US people doing trades.

I love Java, but I could do C++ if people think it's a better idea, I am a student so anything that gets me learning will work. I have an insane amount of spare time to spend on things like this...

I don't know if this belongs here, but I was thinking that a brainstorm thread was a good idea. Maybe it will push other people in starting new projects.

Bitcoin Foundation: The biggest future issue with bitcoin
I think a PR person at the Bitcoin Foundation would do a lot of good the the project's developpement. We keep seeing fans and bitcoin amateurs invited to news shows, a BF official would look way more proffesional and would certainly improve bitcoin's image.

It seems like Mt.Gox isn't keeping up with the demand. Servers, support and verification is slow. I don't really support other exchanges because I think that one good and working exchange is better for the bitcoin economy. I am hoping that coinlab helps fixing this. If they don't, I will consider moving away from Mt.Gox.
If consolidating all your coins in one address is what you're looking to do, all you have to do is make a new wallet and send your coins from the old wallet to the new one. The new one will only have one address and all your coins will be on it.

I don't really understand your justification for the price.
Your mining wont nearly pay itself as fast as the ASIC stuff. 60k of ASIC would have gotten you so much more power.

I stuck with what I know and that is crazy ass hardware. I know 60k of ASIC would get me more power. Man, 60K of ASIC would get me 3TH which would then make me buy a very large boat and sail to Richard Branson's island and kick him in the testicles.
But ASICs are not being delivered. Avalons...yes, kinda. But there is something in the "too good to be true" in the typical ASIC promises that seem to be filled with slowness at best and felons at worst that made me decide that if I was going to gamble I was going to do it on something I knew I could get my hands on.
How many ASIC rigs are out there right now do you think?
The number suggest it is the Godot of hardware and we can always replace lost money but we can never replace lost time.

If BFL ships everything, non-ASIC gear will just be a waste of electricity.
If it's not Avalon or BFL that ends up shipping, someone else will do it. Technology is here and market is here, there has to be people making the gear availible.

Haha. How is campbx's $1.55 going to match mt.gox's $1.1 for the same $1k? Besides mt.gox accepts most currencies now.
I would still choose volume over tiny fee difference anytime. It is a matter of trust and reliability.
