Welcome to the forum gtuvell, with your proven track record it sounds like you are off to a great start. Enjoy the new adventures, you can build many lasting memories here. Also, the community needs honest leaders with higher standards than the past scam artists.

Hi everyone,

I am an entrepreneur (3 startups) and a Technical Product Manager with extensive experience in building innovative authentication, identity, and digital payment solutions. As a co-founder of multiple startups, I have a proven track record of driving product development from concept to launch.

I'm eager to transition into the Bitcoin industry, where I aim to apply my skills. My personal experience with buying and holding Bitcoin, learning and researching mining, following experts like Jeff Booth, Ben Perrin, Gary Cardone, Mark Moss and others has fueled my passion for bitcoin technology.

Does anyone have advice on how to start working in this space? I'm open to part-time consulting roles to start, with a long-term goal of contributing full-time to a forward-thinking Bitcoin company.

Any advice is much appreciated! Thank you!

Yes, some countries will adopt Bitcoin when Hyperinflation makes things really ugly. Sadly, many places - including the USA - will probably be very loud and clear that they consider BTC to be the cause of a Global economic disaster. Our community needs to help educate the masses to not believe the lies.

Re: Learning by myself

I Love to learn on my own, since I don't need to follow the step-by-step guidance of a teacher. When this famous quote was first made: "He that teaches himself has a fool for a master." ~Benjamin Franklin", he did not have the internet to help.  Smiley

This is a true story: after learning about the forum, I went to see a friend for assistance. He helped me set up an account and then, when I tried to ask him for help posting, he refused and told me that since we are not close, I would have to learn how to post on the forum on my own. I found it difficult to ask him questions about how the forum operated, and after several months, his number was unreachable. Finally, one Sunday after church, we got together, and I took it upon myself to ask him for advice on the platform, all he could say was to post on the beginners' forum if you needed any help. Since then, I have been posting, watching, and learning from the community, but I still want to say that even though I'm learning the hard way, it has given me a lot more confidence that I can succeed on my own with perseverance and hard work.

Who controls the world?

Giving in to hopelessness makes it really easy for the bad guys, whomever they may be. IMO, The world "is controlled" by (mostly nice) people who believe the dark side will win.

USDA Fed Cats and Dogs to Kittens, Alarming Watchdog Report Claims

Sorry for sharing, this is your tax Dollars at work:

The kitten shown here was NOT used in these experiments.

The title of the report says it all, "USDA Kitten Cannibalism." It seems hard to believe, but an investigation by a nonprofit watchdog group reveals that the U.S. government purchased hundreds of cats and dogs for stomach-churning research projects — projects that the watchdog group describes as "needless."

The research, carried out at the USDA's Agricultural Research Service's Animal Parasitic Disease Laboratory in Beltsville, Maryland, included feeding the remains of euthanized...

The reminder about what is really important is refreshing, thank you! With all the greed and focus on short-term gains it is nice to see people interested in learning from history.

The market cap is kind of a silly number that we like to look at....

Historically, "market cap" was considered a very silly number. I have seen some of the old threads from when the term first started getting used, and there was a lot of push back against the idea. we all know now the capheads won, but it can still be considered a misleading and inaccurate number.

[2020-01-25] Can Bitcoin Price Hit $424,000 Sometime in Late 2021?

Can Bitcoin Price Hit $424,000 Sometime in Late 2021?

Based on historical data, when the 20MA is acting as support for BTC price, Bitcoin has tended to be in an extended bull market. Conversely, the times that 20MA has acted as resistance against the upward movement in Bitcoin price, have been during bear markets....

...Gains in the last cycle were around 5,000% and occurred 97 weeks after the 20MA first held as support. Mimicking this exactly gives a bitcoin price of $424k, happening sometime in November 2021.
...

...He also thinks that the market cycles are lengthening. Specifically that the time between the halving and the peak has been getting longer.

After the first halving, the peak came after around 52 weeks. However, after the second halving, this period increased to 73 weeks. Cowen, therefore, suggests that the peak following this year’s halving may take longer still, with a potential peak not occurring until 2022.

Still, that would give us a $125k Bitcoin price sometime in early 2022, which is certainly not to be sniffed at… if we can stay above the 20MA as support.

Best suggestion is to get a new idea. You could find a way to help solve problems people face in the crypto world. Something no one is doing, or a different cheaper and better way to solve a problem.
Good luck.

"Something no one else is doing" is excellent advice, especially if you are able to break through the noise and get people interested.

The fiat-based value of BTC is down over 80% from the Big-Time highs of late 2017:

(Q) Did (for example) a large number of bitcoins disappear forever?
(A) No, they simply passed from generally weaker players to "more serious" (long-term successful) ones.

Bitcoinand other speculative assets such as stocks do no generate wealth.
Did I miss the standard definition of "wealth"?  I know a lot of people define their wealth in terms of how much they have in the stock market/bitcoin/whatever other investment.  If Berkshire Hathaway crashed to $1 today, you don't think there would be reports all over the place that Warren Buffett had lost most of his "wealth"?  Sure they would.

Just like paxmao said above, the price doesn't reflect wealth, but the expectations about the future wealth of the company's stock.

Market price is not the "price " of the wealth, but the expectations of the wealth in the future.

The wealth of a company are measure by their anual balances, which have some impact over their shares price

the price doesn't reflect wealth...
Real 'wealth' is often defined by your own standards, and it is nice to know some people still understand money isn't everything.

Can this still be mined (perhaps by CPU), and are you interested in updates from a team which might do a friendly takeover of a coin with a great name?

Re: How do you feel about ICO/Cryptos using children
by

....

With crypto it's the same thing. I haven't personally seen it that much on here as with other industries, but there's a reason kid stuff has generally higher CPM / RPM advertising rates than other industries. I mean let's compare YouTube CPMs for Crypto, Kids, Music and controversial content (swearing, 18+ stuff that can feature violent video games or topics like medical marijuana): CPM (cost per 1K views, regardless of monetized or unmonetized) - Crypto = $3-6 direct through Adsense while external would be $5-25, Kids = $5-12 direct, Music $1-2* (varies highly, for example if VEVO or outside), controversial content $.10-$.6.

Crypto and Kids are 2 of the best industries for monetization. Finance is great but it doesn't have the same hype as both kids stuff and crypto enthusiaists.

YouTube CPMs for Crypto...
Wow, Google/YouTube had banned ICO/crypto ads, but....

(From Sept. 2018)
"The U.S. tech giant Google is set to update its ad policy in October, reallowing some crypto businesses to advertise on its platform. The company announced this in an official post Tuesday, September 25.

According to the official announcement, starting in October Google will allow registered cryptocurrency exchanges to advertise on its Google Adwords platform, targeting the U.S. and Japanese audiences. The announcement says:

“Advertisers will need to be certified with Google for the specific country in which their ads will serve. Advertisers will be able to apply for certification once the policy launches in October.”

This decision follows an announcement in March that all crypto-related businesses will be banned from buying ads on Google Adwords, described by industry insiders as “unfair” and "troubling."
