Rather than acceleration, is there a way to force my transaction to get declined?

How Long Before Transactions are Rejected?
by

I sent some Bitcoin on the 7th of December, and it is still pending.
It was only a small amount (0.00584902 BTC), but it's still something I'm curious to know.

Thanks!

Similarities to Gold?

A few weeks ago I commented on the similarities of Bitcoin over the past year and Gold over the past 30, but I just brushed it off.
Now that the pattern seems to be matching more and more, I am beginning to wonder, is there a strategy here?

I am very new to trading, so I thought I'd post here and get your opinions.

Thanks!

If you look at the BTC chart over the past year, it strongly correlates to the gold chart over the past 30 years. It's a spooky thought, but I don't think we'll recover to $20k for at least a couple months, maybe.

That said, Bitcoin is unpredictable and hopefully I am wrong.

I managed to sell at $16k and I bought back in yesterday at $14k, and all signs are pointing to up now.

I'm happy with the outcome, and I wish you guys the best of luck too and hope to see $20k by Christmas! I used to think we'd be lucky to see $13k by the end of the year, but I was way off Grin

Re: Bitcoin has seen the currency gain nearly $3,000 in a day - Is this healthy?

At this point, I hope not!
I've already pulled making way for the likely correction soon - but that's not to say that I don't have hope it won't rise higher by Christmas.

Have hope in Bitcoin, but also have your wits.

After most sudden influxes and corrections all major BTC services go down/get slower for a period of time. This is just part and parcel of trading, and you have to deal with it if you're going to use an easy service like that.
In fact, it becomes part of the logic not only to ride the profit, but also to predict when you should and can pull out.

I got spooked and sold, but it looks like it's holding up!

I'm gonna be cautious the next few days, and hope for a correction so I can reinvest.
Looks like it's gonna be a good Christmas!

Re: interest in bitcoin is increasing

because everyone is starting to realize that bitcoin is a precious money of the future. So no wonder now more and more interested in bitcoin so we all have to be more excited again with the many fans of this bitcoin because it can push the bitcoin to the surface so it can be used officially wherever and whenever.
Actually it because the impact of japan regulation about bitcoin as well. Most of people are consider bitcoin as an asset instead of currency. So most of bitcoin users are speculative investors. Japan regulation was attract more investors to invest in bitcoin. But, I cannot ignore that bitcoin features is much better than paper money so it can be the future of money.
At this point, I doubt Bitcoin will ever be used as a currency. Although it could be the catalyst for another cryptocurrency to be used as a universal, anonymous and decentralized coin, it is too widely seen as an investment rather than a currency.

With that amount of money, although it could be considered a safe service, I'd still recommend a hardware wallet in order to be more responsible over your own coins, but that's just my opinion.
As for good coins to invest in other than Bitcoin, personally I'm looking at Monero, Ripple, and Litecoin.

And as a word of advice, try not to give into FUD and always think about a decision before taking somebody else's advice.

Good luck!

Am I the only one that feels this survey is more weighted in favor of Ethereum?
A lot of these questions are just repeated and reworded versions of "why are you even still using Bitcoin?"

Either way, I'm keen to see the results of what others have posted.

Re: How much higher before the next correction/dip?
by

Although many people say that Bitcoin is new and thus unpredictable, I still believe you can spot patterns in corrections and other big events.
For example, most corrections occur around a 60 day period, which would put the next big one around January 13th.

But, like I said before, it's very hard to predict these things. Many people thought we wouldn't reach 11k until December 4/5th, and definitely not a sudden boom then drop of over $1k all within a couple days.

Personally, I believe we could see $13k, even $14k by then.

Good luck!

Re: Did the Bitcoin bubble popped? Many questions

Definitely more of a correction, if that. I prefer to think of it like crashing through a barrier: the 10k barrier.
It wasn't smooth, and many people decided to count their winnings, while many more decided it was a good time to invest in this highly profitable and new market.
As such, we managed to hit 10k not just once, not twice, but around three times!
I suppose in many ways, we are lucky to see such an event.

Re: Problems with Blockchain?
by

move the funds out of there, blockchain is one of the best online wallets, and it hasn't scammed anyone yet.

But the best thing that you can do is just put those funds on localbitcoins, and sell that amount to a seller, that is very easy and if you want a wire transfer it can be made in just minutes.

I didn't knew that blockchain.info had the option to withdraw money, i mean, i thought that Coinbase was the only one who was offering this kind of alternatives to withdraw some bitcoins.

Maybe it is because the miner fees, but 5 pounds seems to be a little bit expensive (since atm's fees are aprox $3)
Thanks for you help!
I'll be sure to move my Bitcoin out as soon as possible and find some sellers.

As for Blockchain allowing users to sell Bitcoin, I believe that not too long ago they made a partnership with Coinify to provide that service.

Problems with Blockchain?
by
Rebldomakr
on 01/12/2017, 21:06:33 UTC
I was looking to sell some of my Bitcoin through my Blockchain wallet, though it keeps telling me I don't have enough:

https://i.imgur.com/8d4JE7S.png

At first I figured it was just a slow API, so I tried again a few minutes later and the minimum price to withdrawal had lowered by £0.04 (still much lower than my balance) and wouldn't let me sell.

Is anybody else having this problem?
It's not that big of a deal right now, because I don't really need to sell right now, but I would imagine that this could become a bigger problem in the future?

Thanks!

Tips for Surviving FUD?
by
Rebldomakr
on 30/11/2017, 21:04:30 UTC
In my heart I know Bitcoin will rise again, and even after a quick think it's obvious that it will rise again.
But still, there's that thought that lingers persistently... the big "what if?"

I'm sure lots of you have had much more experience than me. Right now I live off of HODLing, but seeing how fast it can go up and down has left me feeling queasy, and I just can't keep my eyes off the red.

Maybe a long sleep or a shower to get my mind thinking of other things?

Thanks!

This is amazing!
Although we all knew that it's very possible, I never thought I'd see a live-action write up of someone actually attempting this feat!

Good job so far, and good luck for the future
Hopefully your success will inspire others to follow the same path, and provide knowledge and reassurance to beginners.

Re: Bitcoin down 1000$+ few hour
by

I think it's going to break out again in the second half of December. Bitcoin is sure to stabilize around $12000 around Christmas. Now it's a good time to buy.
I agree completely with this.
Whether or not this specific growth and sudden correction was expected or not, all previous growth and even the drop back down to 9.5k still suggest a nice $12-14k by the end of the year.

Good luck, and stay focused!

Although I agree with most of your points (excluding the few that contradict the purpose of crypto-currencies), I believe that if you're looking for a group of experienced Wall Street traders professionally maneuvering Bitcoin, we're going to leave your sorely disappointed.
