Happens all the time?
There is only one solution, and it important for the future of the bitcoin community - a public exchange. It is funny we believe in bitcoin because of its democratic value, peer to peer, etc. and then we get stuck with a company, which is no peer to peer, which control the exchange!
Actually it is not funny...

No. Full disclosure means an exchange that will be reliable and will be control by us the bitcoiners. Mtgox should either agree to supervision but bitcoiners, or bitcoiners should be able to develop an exchange that can be fully trusted.
Isn't the whole idea of bitcoin is peer to peer, namely, a community of people rather than a big corporation?
What can be the future of mtgox - either it becomes a big corporation such as Citibank, or it fails entirely.

They had all the time to prepare themselves for that. People pay between 0.6-0.5% for every trade. This is a lot of money given the daily  every trade is paid both by the seller and the buyer, so mtgox makes more then 1% for every trade. It is more than $100,000 per day (recently).
For that amount of money they make form us, they should provide a reliable service.

Perhaps big enough group of bitcoiners can invest together in establishing new exchange, with full disclosure, and which is not dependent on a single investor.
Today shameful crash of mtgox should be a bad sign for the market.

Mtgox's failure today is shameful. I have an account there for 2 years.
If they don't want to lose the trust of the community they must explain in full disclosure of what happened today.
