Well...

- I was working on nobl trade (free platform for noble/noxt that I suggested to develop for free) for 2 months until rofo stopped communicating with me so I just got back to my day job.
- I invested all the money I had into noxt.
- I gave rofo my noxt addresses to prove I am not dumping.
- I brought external investors into noxt (40+ btc flew threw me into noxt)
- I spent all my time answering questions about noxt

Is that enough for asking questions like 'how much noxt are in circulation"? or do I need to sacrifice a finger for you?

Those are simple questions - this information should be public anyway.

I am off for my day job Smiley

You offered for nobl as far as I know, and that alone from anyone's point of view certainly doesn't give you the right to demand his receipts and transaction books. What will you do? Suggest better gas stations on the way to canberra?

You need to understand that it's been less than 3 weeks since the crowdfund was over, this was repeatedly stated to be a long term project, the assets were sold for pittance compared to what other start ups gather for selling their shares, and one man can only do so much after being burned out so much. Never mind he has still promised to SPECIFICALLY prioritize on NOXT and NOXT first. Did he not deliver on registration and official steps even before the crowdfund was over?

You can't nag, nag, and nag further like this. Give him space and do not presume to 'demand', because you did not loan any money or donate to charity. You spent your money, of your own will, to BUY INTO AN ASSET ISSUED BY ANOTHER who currently needs time and space. Even afterwards, you get to demand nothing as if you are entitled to them and somehow rofo is working under you (which is what it sounds like from your tone) - which is NOT the case, in case you are confused about your own position and place.

Start ups and crypto projects have issues and hiccups. Considering what rofo's went through, I expect people to be helpful, not demand things of him that you clearly have no place demanding. I would seriously back off and help him along rather than acting as if you are his employer because you decided on your own to buy his offered assets.

What he has done so far, none but rofo paid significant personal and financial price to achieve. NOXT was offered as an asset with clear goals, some of which were achieved even before the crowdfund period was over (many of them - in fact I'd say we are right on schedule. Of course, it's at his pace). You bought in. If you do not have the patience to hold onto your investments and just bother another as if that will hurry a business (as if you are in a position to demand - you did not lend, donate or otherwise hold any more leash to the funds you used to BUY the asset), then I would not expect a welcome response from any business.

If anyone is keen on telling the whole world that they are drug-lord wannabe bitch who wants to play at being a criminal, trying to arrange a murder by hire while sipping soy latte in starbucks like some two bit college pussy, then I highly recommend they use the OP title as a rallying cry.

May I also remind how easily he got caught from 'arranging' a murder with an undercover agent - standard operation that case. How much of a pussy can you be?

Of course he won't take questions, he doesn't want people talking about how he's a scam artist.

His cloud mining scam started as a textbook Ponzi, which naturally falls apart when there's not enough new money coming in to pay the earlier investors.

But what if everyone kept their money in the Ponzi and didn't ask for payouts?  Then it wouldn't have to fall apart as soon.

So how could you convince people to keep their money tied up for even longer?  Switch them over to something else - Hashcoins and Paycoins.  Then, since you're printing your own money, you can pay them as much as they want with this new money.  Because it's worthless.  GAW keeps all the dollars and bitcoins, and gives out fake money in exchange.

But what if you could convince people to keep even their fake Paycoins tied up longer?  Then the Ponzi scheme might survive a few more months!  At this point in the game, the only people left are completely brainwashed or just stupid.  Or maybe they just keep hoping for the best, since all their money is in it and they don't want to admit that they got scammed.  So when you tell them to leave their Paycoins in a "cloud staking wallet", which makes no sense, they still agree.  And they pay more money.  They're along for the ride, and you're in control.

So when you go to the Bitcoin conference, you don't want to suddenly start answering questions from people who aren't along for the ride.  They're not under your control, and you've gotten used to surrounding yourself with followers.  Besides, why should you answer to anyone who isn't giving you their money?  The only ones you care about are the ones who believe whatever you say.  That's your target demographic, not people who need questions answered.

Spot on.

Since Jason is ignoring my pms, I will try my luck here  - maybe someone else can answer this.

Don't make me ask this in the thread,

You stated here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841741.msg10104739#msg10104739
"effective supply approximately 672,000."(that means 141btc were raised).

You stated here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=402667.msg10109325#msg10109325
" So I've raised about 60 BTC" (that means that only ~ 285k should be left in circulation because no one paid for the rest or you bought them back).

You also stated that
"What I can say is I can already confirm 220,000 of 672,000 NOXT are in hands that will not be exiting the market any time soon"
"This effectively means only about 400,000 NOXT are currently available"
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841741.msg10104739#msg10104739

And you also admitted via pm that only quarter of the noxt are in circulation (~250k).

So.... if you got only 60 btc, how come we have "220,000 of 672,000 NOXT are in hands that will not be exiting the market any time soon"
Who are those hands? did they pay for their noxt?
who is holding the rest? (~400k)? did those hands pay anything for those noxt or it is just being dumped on us right now for 25% ico price?

What are the correct numbers? and why didn't you burn the noxt you bought back?

I don't think this kind of making pressure is needed, pikatchu...

but Rofo: Why did you give people the possibility to sell you NOXT back?

Those buy walls on 41999 sat on polo represented rofo's good will in case people who bought in wanted a chance to reconsider their decision I believe. I would have suggested otherwise, but I consider it a gesture of consideration on rofo's part. Looking back at those now, I would have recommended no such step was necessary or obligated by rofo, but I suppose having been kind and gracious enough to offer a refund opportunity during the crowdfund phase is now a reason to doubt someone.

Have patience, and think long term. Smiley

At this point, all the options are on the table, I suppose all that is needed is a final "go ahead" word to get out of the dilly-dally Smiley

I think the Magi-clone Pos 2.0 is likely the fastest/best that can be achieved at this point.

Can the community (or Rofo as ultimate arbiter) give the word for "go ahead" or "no go"?

There will be a necessary adjustments & testing phase, so even with a "go" word right now, it will just be the beginning, and it may take a couple of weeks for technical stuff, testing & polishing, and then once finalized, there will be extra time to warn all exchanges & pools, ensure they all have the new code and agree on the switch, etc.

An exchange-based switch will introduce further delays, first for negotiations, then to give everyone time to exchange (once the old chain is dead and not mined anymore, it will be stuck, and people won't be able to send funds). A premine distribution script will cut that down to just agreeing on the switch-over height, but will put a very strict deadline on the switch.

Join in #noblecoin IRC for discussions.

There is already a 'go' for a general pos from the time rofo got palm detroit to work on it. I see no reason to deviate. Exchange negotiations and such are done much more quickly compared to the buidling of pos wallet it self.

Let's not get side tracked here from the original goal.

All of these arrangements have their potential flaws and weaknesses, but no amount of effort can produce such a perfectly secure form of security. We must pick the better of all the options and stick to helping it work. POS is more secure then POW relatively speaking. Let's build a general POS wallet, and make sure it happens soon.

Also bear in mind Apex was a dead coin to start with, with little or no stake. It's 51% of the stake that is needed, not 51% of the entire supply. A lot of difference.

I have started working on a PoS wallet for Noblecoin. This is just the very beginning so please do not expect miracles anytime soon. Wink

However I would like to ask everyone on this thread what is your opinion on PoS parameters which should be chosen. Feel free to elaborate why you think those are best for us. Maybe someone did research into PoS parameters and would like to share results? I would love to hear that!

1. I think we should have very moderate to small inflation rate at PoS stage. No "High PoS".
With PoW, when calculated year-to-year starting from now (1.8 bln + another 2.6 bln in 365 days), the PoW inflation now is 144%.
For PoS, in my opinion maybe 5%-10% a year would be good. The highest PoS coins have seen a big hype (see HYP), but then the fall is very dramatic, because of the enormous supply.

2. I think we can make a transition to PoS at a "round number" like 2.0 or 2.1 bln NOBL (depending when will we manage to have a running PoS wallet)/

3. I think we should distribute new PoS NOBLes using the fairglu'd automated script method on some clone of 100% premined PoS coin.

4. IMO it would be good to divide the money units (coins) in circulation by 5 or 10 to avoid 1-digit satoshi price range (Ratio 5:1 or 10:1. In this scenario, 1 mln old NOBL would equal 200k or 100k of new PoS NOBL, distributed evenly to all existing addresses, redeemable at any time in the future from your old wallet.dat).

I agree with 5-10%. No high pos.

Just keep the stake rates steady along that line.

I personally believe 5% to be more then enough. We are going for a good, professional crypto currency here. 5% is more then plenty for inflation.

We need a graphic designer for a new wallet. Can you help with that? If not do you know someone who is talented and would like to help?

Feel free to answer here or PM myself.

Thanks!

I could help out with that; can you provide more info?

However I'm pretty busy ATM, so I'm wondering how urgent is that request?

We will need someone like yourself when the wallet is ready. Right now we are brainstorming several possible ways to get it done.

Do you know when you are going to have some time to work on such a project?

Not sure yet, but I'm guessing in about a month in the worst case.

Join us #Noblecoin on freenode irc Smiley

I suspect manually exporting the keys would not be required, merely rescanning, and it could be triggered by a wallet version change f.i., which would then do the same as a "-rescan" option.

This needs to be tested of course, but as soon as the base coin to clone from is known, I could give it a try. Preferably something without too many customizations, so it can be cloned within a reasonable time frame  Grin

I think the reason it was not done is that it was more work when you did not have a tool that could give you the balance of all addresses. Also noble does not have too many addresses with balance, this would be much more complicated for litecoin f.i., and quite impractical for doge or bitcoin.

Another reason is that an exchange-based swap practically guarantees coins will be lost and never swapped (all those that overlooked the swap news), and I suppose at least some coin devs had that in mind.
Speaking of which, an exchange-based swap destroys anonymity, as the exchange knows your email and IPs (and may leak these unwillingly if hacked or seized at a later time)

About the division by ten, another good reason would be to get away from not just the satoshi value, but also the integer 64 overflow and floating point precision issues. Dividing by 100 or 1000 could also make sense.

So dev abandoned the ship and this is a community takeover attempt?

Cool whats the plan

I want to make it clear I specifically stated the NOXT cycle, roadmap and updates in this thread were my primary focus while I took a breather from NOBL under revised leadership. That is all I'll say until the gold/silver licensing, market trade and business/investment updates come.

Rofo's just taking break from nobl and focusing on NOXT. Little has changed, we are all just more aware of what it takes to do a start up.

2 hours until the crowdfund for NOXT is over. You can scoop up here:

https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_noxt

how much did noble raise in the ICO?

Total Raised: 135BTC

Cool - Noble looks legit. Hoping 2015 is a better year with a lot more legit projects.

That's the idea. As long as pump and dump groups manipulate exchanges and/or exchanges themselves engage in unregulated practices for their own profit at the outright expense of the customers to scam them, crypto will never take off.

Professionals like Jason Curby are needed in this scene and 2.0 platforms will bring in vast new opportunities for new liquidity to be introduced into the scene from legitimate, established businesses and financial institutions (hedge funds, mutual funds, investment groups and banks, venture capital funds, etc) in a scale that has never been seen before in crypto currency environment.

Those few tens of hundreds of millions will be nothing compared to what 2015 will bring if these professionals are accepted by the mainstream financial circles in 2015.

Do we need to do anything to convert NXT assets to NOXT?

Just swap them on the NXT asset exchange.
Swap them for what?

Buy NOXT with NXT.
