Re: If litecoin is the silver to bitcoin's gold, then it's reasonably priced

Current btc/ltc value ratio is about 39:1. Gold vs. silver is around 64:1 right now.
Estimates I've seen would be 5x silver extracted from the ground vs. gold. Similar to the 4x in LTC/BTC.

Based on those numbers Litecoin appears fairly valued assuming a similar gold/silver relation.
Silver does appear undervalued currently based on historic ratios (In the ballpark of 40-50:1) assuming a mean reversion occurs.

It's likely the real Satoshi has been suicided. The Stanley Meyer case is a good example of what happens to inventors when powerful groups / corporations start looking for you.

I am having a problem getting USD wire into Bitstamp.

If bitstamp crashes too - that is the end of bitcoin forever.  No way bitcoin can survive two major exchanges stealing .5 billion each.  This whole thing is starting to look like a f-ing train wreck.

Gimme back my euros!!!

Bitcoin ATM's are starting to be deployed now, there will be less need for central exchanges as those become widespread.

Re: Cryptostates - Doing for politics what cryptocurrencies have done for economics

It would be interesting to develop a distributed anonymous voting system similar to Bitcoin.  Double majority voting system with a minimum turnout. Every "citizen" could vote Yes / No or simply abstain. Votes could all be verified publicly on the votechain with no chance of tampering. Maybe the miners would be the ones who would introduce the new legislation to be voted on. In this manner one could do away with the need for representative politicians entirely. A 'true' democracy backed by crypto.

The hard part of course is getting recognized and the land somewhere to set it up.

Just wanted to chime in but think most payouts should be sent within at least 8 hours max after a game (or better). I've had no previous issues with bit365 and think they are a good book overall, but this is an area they should focus on.

One idea I had was for a bitcoin sportsbook in LV - with the latest odds from bitbook, bit365 and the local casinos. + wifi so you can bet right there.
Btc-currency exchange onsite, and a good coffeeshop in there too. That would be awesome.

Cheesy For that sort of thing you'd probably want to move to South America. Or maybe one of those island countries like the Seychelles.

There is always need of using fiat in some areas, so don't think anyone would disagree with that. I think the ultimate goal for many bitcoin users is to eliminate as much of that dependency as possible.
I've seen apartments for bitcoin in some places, and If you can knock off rent/housing that is a major success against the current corrupt financial system.

You'll never have true freedom from fiat currency without a bitcoin friendly government or country.

If bitcoin climbs to $5000 then litecoin should have a good shot at it with the 50:1 ratio.
But do you think people would buy Bitcoins if they reached $5000?

Probably not the smaller folks dealing in whole bitcoins, but at that level it would be Wall St. and investors like the Bitcoin Investment Trust or proposed Winklevoss ETF.
Nothing preventing people from trading in micro-increments of btc if the price gets that high.
