Here is my 4GH  [scrypt] Rig, with 6x HIS 7950 IcqQ x2 @666 khash/s - update: 673 Wink

This was fun to build while waiting way too long for my grakas Smiley
http://i42.tinypic.com/ojhu1u.jpg
old:
http://i41.tinypic.com/ixs8lx.jpg
new:
http://i41.tinypic.com/5vd5w.png
(actual hashrate value in cgwather and shares accepted count in cgminer are buggy)

The current setup is:

MSI Z77A-G45
6x HIS 7950 IceQ X2
LEPA 1600W NT
4GB G-Skill Ripjaws
40 GB Seagate HDD
current Riser: 3*powered x1, 1*non powered x1, 1*x16 riser@2nd Slot(always counted from Top)
Rig consumes 1490W now.

-skipped using 4th Slot.
-used shortening mod on 5th Slot.

-flashed Bios with 1003,1490@1.087 VDDC
-used optimized kernel binary from https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,6058.75.html

-used 13.1 Driver from techpowerup, installed it without sdk and manually installed amd app sdk(dont know which version is installed right now)-
-currently running under Windows8 64 bit with cgwatcher and cgminer3.5 with param:

CoreClock: 1092 Mhz
MemClock: 1490 Mhz
Powertune: 14
VDDC: 1.087V
ThreadConcurrency=22400 Intensity=19 GpuThreads=1 Vectors=1 Worksize=256

My old config was 21712TC with 1003(Core)x1490(Mem)@1.087V - By increasing core hashrate fall down - I stucked at 599kh/s.
Each card consumed 208W

With the new kernel binary and TC switch to 22.4k, it increased to 616Kh/s (2.75%)
..and it had also brilliant secondary effect:
Now i`m able to increase core frequency almost linear to my hashrate. I stopped with 1092Mhz with 666Mhz and...

FINALLY GOT MY 4 GH/s !!!!

Each card now consumes 224W so I think i have to do some more undervolting again Smiley

--
Edit:
Did a lot fine tuning and ended with:
+ pushed core to 1104 on 5 cards => + 7 Kh/s each resulted in different clock values between 1084 and 1104
+ decreased vddc to 1.081V          => - 2.5 W each not stable on 3 cards
+ switched TC to 24k                    => + 2 KH/s each

just love(d) the result   Grin plus ~47 Kh/s, for 12.5W less power not as much anymore Wink !
pictures get updated, when it pass the long term stability test
--
Quirks:
With my second rig I had some stability issues. The reason for that had been those fucking default energy-saving options of windows.
- Switch to your energy profile menu and select advanced settings. Disable energy saving for PCI Express
Scrypt mining just sends a few instructions & results over PCI Express, so this could be missinterpreted as a low bus usage.

when you want to rebuild this, you first have toundervolt the graphicards bios before mining, cause you would exceed the PSU limits!

gpu mining is just a wonderful hobby Smiley
hope u enjoy it and could probably find anything to incease your hashrate too
push, cause of a lot of updates

It has. Not originally, but there is still an active community.

This should be it: https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php?topic=2924.0

There is also another bamt, where i can only find the local file - no link
search for: bamt_HD7000_amd_catalist_13.4_cgminer_3.1.1_amd_SDL_v5_amd_app_sdk_v2.7_all_int egrated_and_preconfigured_for_7970_660Mhs.img
I think, this was made by an guy called "phillip"..

You have 4 rigs full of 7700 !? Sounds like an interessting experiment Smiley
Why did you decide to take 7700, when 7950 etc. gets celebrated overall?

uuuh Windows 8 - absolutely to much microsoft for me Tongue
I would recommend you to make an counter check with new BAMT USB live version including actual drivers. google it Smiley
If this also reports errors using
Quote
dmesg
your problem should be an hardware one.

Anyway.. dont give up Wink

Which Slot you have to short depends on your Motherboard. Search for yours in the post i previously posted.
Here an pic of one of those shortener: http://blog.zorinaq.com/images/pcie-short-photo.jpg
It should be an solid one wire cable. If you can`t find it, ask your mum! Sometimes mums are using this kind for binding plants Smiley

@blueriver I read before, v2.8 would cause problems.
cgminer/bfgminer READMEs recommends to use AMD_APP_SDK-2.7

An clear uninstall  of v2.8 via AMD Install Manager should be fine. Just dont save with reboots - windows need those a lot Smiley - Windows reinstall shouldn`t be nessesary.

One more suggestion:
On my motherboard MSI Z77A-G45 there is a pci x1 pair between two x16 Slots. By using one of those, this disables the other one. I`m not sure, but i suppose in this case one graka shouldn`t be visible in the windows device manager at all, cause the disabling has to be an bios implemented chipset issue.
Try using different slots.

If this doesn`t help you - check out the shortening trick. With this shortening you send an "Hello Board, here I am - your brand new x1 device!"  signal.  Cool This works with x16 slots too!

You can find several infos to this topic on this board.

Here one really good thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36061.0

5x HIS 7950 IceQ x2 @Windows7 64bit + AMD 13.4 driver support - Updated (6x HIS)
by
Rhovac
on 16/07/2013, 21:11:40 UTC
Here my experience with Windows7 64 bit AMD Driver Support

Setup:
MSI Z77A-G45
6x HIS 7950 IceQ X2
LEPA 1600W NT
4GB G-Skill Ripjaws
40 GB Seagate HDD
old: 4x X1, 1x X16 Riser new: 3x powered x1 Riser + 3 nonpowered x1 Riser + 6x shortener

old: Actual 5 cards are working stable with Win7 64bit, 13.4 AMD driver, AMD APP SDK v2.7
new: Actual 6 cards running after using an x1 riser instead of x16. In addition I undervolted them, to get power consumption down to 95% of power supply range.

At the beginning windows just recognised 4 cards with fresh 13.4 install.
Then I read, only 12.6 would handle with 5 cards.

My Steps:
uninstall 13.4 - reboot - install 12.6 - reboot - 13.4 install (without uninstalling 12.6) reboot

Result: Some configs from 12.6 seems to be persistent, so it still supports 5 grakas.
I dont know if some 13.4 features are disabled by this steps but well.. it works stable.

Here my cgminer setup for 595-600 kh/s:
CoreClock: 1003 Mhz
MemClock: 1490 Mhz
Powertune: 20
ThreadConcurrency=21712 Intensity=19 GpuThreads=1 Vectors=1 Worksize=256

added: gpu-vddc: 1125 (56W less powerconsumption for each device! + ~15% cooler/quieter)
