Re: ETH to 80$
by

Who knows how low Ethereum is going to go, looking at the historical charts and looking how it's acting I don't see any reason it won't go lower than $80.00, might go below $50.00 or even lower.  I'm not doing anything with the ones I have, just hodling, keeping an eye on it and hoping for the best.

It looks like a really good deal now, but then it looked like a really good deal at $500.00, at $300.00, at $200.00 so really I think no one has an answer.  I want to buy a bunch of it when it is around the lowest as I think long term it will soar again and by doing so it will cost average down my other more expensive buys.

As has been mentioned, if you don't sell you haven't lost as long as the coin doesn't disappear.

Market has broken below important support area in last few days. Probably best to wait for the washout bottom in coming days before buying anything.

Definitely not the time to buy.

This looks encouraging, know next to nothing about the mining process but it's so fascinating to read about and especially to follow the thread and follow the flow of information.

This sounds great!  I'll keep an eye on it and will probably buy one at least even though the electrical rates down here suck.

where is down here?

Down here is San Diego County and the electrical rates really do suck, the first tier is over 20Cents per KWHr and the 2nd tier is, ahem, 48 cents per KWHr.

I know it won't make any economic sense but I'd like to learn how to mine in case we get all set up with PV (have a property in the back country with a lot of land and a lot of sun) or if we move to where the rates are a lot cheaper.

Re: Will it grow ETH ?
by

I believe Ethereum will grow strongly in the next few months. Ethereum is considered as the queen of the cryptocurrency market. It is the strongest opponent of Bitcoin. Ethereum is very popular, it is a lot of ICO projects used as foundation. Every day this altcoin has a huge trading volume. In my opinion Ethereum has great potential, it is always worthwhile to invest.

I wouldn't call it an opponent, I think of it, as well as a number of other alt coins, as an alternative.  The potential for the future of crypto is so large that there's plenty of room for many or at least a lot of choices.

If you can handle the initial expense I think the post with the ground source heat pump is a good way to go, get down about 100 feet and the temperature is nice and cool.

Pick some in the top tier and cost average into them, buy so much every week, divide your amount into something like 10 -20 or more piles and invest a little every week.

Re: Ethereum under $400 will be a good buy or ?
by
Rkoshay
on 24/06/2018, 01:41:15 UTC
Don't think it will hit $400.00, watching it daily.  If and when it does I'm buying but not going all in, have bought a little at $500.00, also have a little from when it was, ahem, $1,000.00 so buying when it's lower brings down the cost of the higher ones.  Of course that also brings up the cost of the lower purchases.

The question is will BTC hold above 6k?  If it does then there's no way that ETH will reach $400.00, I was reading that it costs about 6k to mine a bitcoin so there's supposed to be a lot of support to keep it above that line.  Time will tell.

50 million, big whoop.  Let's see............. there's a total of 100,000,000 tron.  50 million times 20 equals 1 billion so this 'huge' burn of 50 million is 1/20th of 1 percent, basically a rounding error.

I would add that there isn't an easy way to change crypto into fiat.   When the time comes that I can send crypto to someone on the other side of the world, or across town, and they can receive that and easily change that to fiat, or vice versa crypto will boom.

I got excited about QKC but after reading about it some it seems like it's claiming all sorts of abilities and I'm not convinced they can carry out all of the claims.  Watching it trend down, plan on studying it more and will make a decision then but am a lot more leery than when I first got wind of it.

For now I recommend Ripple, remember that the current Ripple price is so cheap that it is still under $ 1, if one day it can reach $ 100 then it is certain that Ripple will be number # 1 and replace bitcoin.

With a total of 100 billion ripple it's hard to imagine it reaching $100.  That would be a market cap of 10 trillion dollars!

Re: Mining Cryptocurrency with a Solar Energy Powered Portable Device

It's a great idea but at this time don't think it's economically feasible.  Panels are pricy, batteries are also.  PV (photo voltaic) systems are only working about 6-8 hours out of the day so if one wants to mine for 24 hours a day the system would have to be oversized enough to charge the batteries to carry over for the 16 hours that the PV isn't charging to any degree, just don't think the amount of money one gets from mining will offset the costs, maybe a wind generator to help in a reliably windy area might be an idea to pursue or home sized hydro electric if there's a reliable stream?

Zillaqa has doubled in the last month, strong team, good product, still a really good deal at 10 cents a token.  Two thousand bucks will get you 20,000, it doesn't have to go up much to double or triple that.  This one might easily go to $1.00 per token, if and when that happens your two thousand dollar investment could be worth twenty thousand dollars!

I believe that GDAX doesn't charge a fee if you are the maker (if you post the offer) but does if you're the taker (the purchaser).  Haven't used it in awhile so be sure and check on that.

The only way would be day trading and getting incredibly lucky.   You'd be just as likely to lose it all as to gain that much.
