Binance been hacked again,,,, the hacker dumped all altcoins to BTC, and then use those BTC to pump VIA  (I don't know this coin) from $0.000225 to $0.025!

and then Binance locked withdrawing!

BUT the hackers already made billions from bear market....!

The listed short orders on many other exchanges and sell VIA with high price !

seems the hacker is more smarter this time!

I wish I could become a real talent hacker. They're can take anything from anyone Grin Grin Grin Grin

Could it be possible that in the future there are countries that use bitcoin as the national currency??
I think every country will create their own crypto currency, not use bitcoin as national currency

BTC price should be back 1000$, it'll stable and can be accepted popularity

I think it's not normal when a currency can exchange to over 10.000$. In this price, very high fee, so btc's never used to buy or sell goods in normal life such as: coke, KFC, foods etc. People will see btc look like goods, gold, diamond but not a real-life currency. That's why I think its price should be back around 1000$. Pls share your though Undecided Undecided Undecided

Kim Yong Jim - world banks chief say that, what do you think??? will it make value of crytpocurrencies value go down more??? Shocked Shocked Shocked
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-02-07/cryptocurrencies-are-like-ponzi-schemes-world-bank-chief-says

This is not the first time the Crypto ecosystem is being labelled as a Ponzi scheme so I doubt if this will make the value of cryptocurrencies value go down more than it already has! The Cryptocurrency ecosystem has had much heavier negative news than this in the past few weeks.
agree with you, but this time a VIP world banks chief says that when btc price is going up 8000$ today after go down very deeply these day. People banks alway hate cryptocurrency

Re: Bitcoin going to $400
by

Giant ponzis do not run for more than 10 years. At $600,000,000,000 invested in Bitcoin the money supply has dried up. Bitcoin has crashed from $20,000 to $12,000

and high profile people calling Bitcoin a giant scam there is ever increasing risk of international police raiding Bitcoin mines
you remind me the year 2013, I started to mining bitcoin with more than 100 machine, bitcoin price around 400-500$, i hope its price could increase to 800-1000$ at least 6-8 months later. But not, its price went down less than 200$ and I've bankrupt. I have to sell all my machine and all bitcoin I have. So sad and so regretful

I’m using Binance. Should I buy altcoins using BTC or ETH?? Does is make a difference??
yes, btc fee more expensive than eth fee, and low transaction speed too. that's why many people shift to altcoin, eth is just an example

Re: Securing your Cryptos
by
RobertoMakeli
on 10/01/2018, 07:19:49 UTC
Being your own bank – the hassle of securing your Cryptos

Let’s say theoretically you have 3 mio dollars in crypto (I don't, but to make this whole thing more pressing).
All your wealth.

Now you can leave it on an exchange, login with your password and 2 factor authentification. See the worth, have all coins nicely together, be able to buy and sell and send.

But everybody says ‘don’t leave it on the exchange’.
Because exchanges get hacked. Or hack themselves. Or get bankrupt (?).
Or something else that is weird.

Let’s say theoretically you have 1 mio dollars in crypto.
How do you secure it?
Concretely?

I guess being your own bank kinda sucks.

I want to find a good security strategy.
Links and tips welcome.

Eg Paper wallets
Nice, but where do you keep the paper?
In a safe? In your house? House burns down?
You remember the seed and check if you remember it every morning?

Ledger / Trezor.. hardware wallet.
Again.. you keep that in a safe?

One multi-coin wallet to rule them all? Where you learn the seed so you can repeat it in your sleep?
One wallet for each coin?
One wallet for about each 20k?

Thanks for comments

IF I had 1 mln in crypto, i'd probably divide my funds over the leading brand hardware wallets (trezor, ledger nano S, keepkey, bitbox), over a couple paper wallets, and keep some "change" on an airgapped pc.

I'd collect the seeds and bip38 encrypted private keys (from the paper wallets) on an airgapped pc, and break them up using Shamir's Secret Sharing Scheme https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shamir%27s_Secret_Sharing (for example: http://point-at-infinity.org/ssss/). I'd probably create a 3 out of 4 scheme.

Then, i'd hire a safe deposit box at 3 banks, store 1 set of secrets and 1 hardware wallet in each deposit box, and keep 1 set and 1 hardware wallet at home...
The total cost would be ~$400 for the 4 hardware wallets, ~$250 for a small offline pc and ~$0 for the paper used to print the paper wallets/secrets.

Now IF somebody broke into my home and put a gun agains my head, they'd walk away with 25% of my funds (tops), if the bank got broken into, they'd only have 1 part of the secret, so they cannot recreate the seeds/private keys,...

I would, however, also look for an insurance company willing to insure the 25% of the funds i keep at home...

lol, very detail bro and now I know all your secret and all your action when you have 1 mil $ in bitcoin Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I think we may be in a situation that someone wants us to be wealthy enough for the coming on a world where people that has Bitcoin or some other coin are the only person who may live through. Maybe someone is trying to manipulate the world through crypto? What do you think guys?
obviously, there're so many big player who has too much bitcoin, they can make effect and change the market, make price go up or down.
Our job is keep calm, wait and see carefully, and then we can make our decision

Re: Bitcoin and Altcoins Information
by
RobertoMakeli
on 09/01/2018, 04:23:29 UTC
WHAT IS BITCOIN?
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, a digital asset designed to work as a medium of exchange that uses cryptography to control its creation and management, rather than relying on central authorities.[1] The presumed pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto integrated many existing ideas from the cypherpunk community when creating bitcoin. Over the course of bitcoin's history, it has undergone rapid growth to become a significant currency both on and offline - from the mid 2010's onward, some businesses on a global scale began accepting bitcoins in addition to standard currencies

WHAT IS ALTCOINS

An altcoin is any digital cryptocurrency similar to Bitcoin. The term is said to stand for “alternative to Bitcoin” and is used describe any cryptocurrency that is not a Bitcoin. ... Most popular altcoins use the same fundamental building blocks as Bitcoin

USE:

Mainly some users and traders use altcoins to trade and grow their bitcoins to have a good profit this is because some traders don't have the capacity to buy 1 BTC that is now worth more than $16,000 so they use altcoins to trade with bitcoins and vice versa

if you have any idea about the relation of bitcoins and altcoins and their uses please don't hesitate to comment down thanks in advance more power bitcoin.

this is normal information about cryptocurrency. and now, because btc transaction fee too high, and low speed too. so many people invest in alt coin like: ripple, eth, litecoin => that take price of these altcoin go up and btc price becomes more stable. I guess so

Everyone know BTC is King, but now maybe everything changed. BTC is still King but it don't worship as before.
Recent time, hundreds of billions of dollars have been poured in Crytocurenncy but only poured in Altcoin, especially XRP. So what do you think about that?

1/ The return of the King and Altcoin will drop very much
2/ BTC will up but Alt don't drop much
3/ BTC can hardly increase again as investors' confidence is losing
4/ I don't know will what happen. I still keep my BTC.
all you talk is right but I'll keep my btc and wait at least till end of 2018. that's my choice Grin

Re: Is bitcoin just a brand?
by
RobertoMakeli
on 08/01/2018, 09:17:42 UTC
Litecoin is faster, monero is more private, ETH has smart contracts and there are much more altcoin with much more features, even Bitcoin Cash is faster than Bitcoin, but BTC keeps rising much faster.
Don't you think it's just because of the name?
It's not just a brand, bitcoin is the first crypto currency in the world base on blockchain platform, when bitcoin price go up, it takes price of every altcoin will go up too. bitcoin is king of crypto currency. I believe its price wiil raising up higher in near future
