Re: Is Zcash mining heading towards centralization?
by

on 14/01/2017, 12:33:15 UTC
The whole ZCash launch and price manipulation from the start was sketchy, centralization means market manipulation which means bowing down to your whale market overlords

OP predicts centralization due to the invention of FPGA to solve Equihash.

More likely to hit 10$ not 100$

Right now, it is dancing between 40-50 USD. Can move in either direction. Wink

Considering that zcash was launched on 28th Oct , you managed to start investing on the same day !! Hmm ..
Also the site was just registered 10 days prior ( on 18th Oct 2016 !) Doesnt look very trustable !
Anyways ...
How much zcash do you 100 Sols/s garner from the site?
Do they payout daily ? ( Are there any maintenance charges that they deduct from the payout ? )
Would like to ask around ... before i get invested .

Since Oct 28, 2016. Initially I had only 10 Sol/s as the solve rate cost was pretty high at that time. But, they have radically slashed their solve rate cost since the announcement of Equihash FPGA. Now, I have bought a LOT and heavily invested into Zcash mining.

Interestingly, Zcash price is also stabilizing, which is a sign of maturity - http://www.coindesk.com/zcrash-zcashs-price-finding-floor/

I was active in the zcash community far before that. 3 sites started mining from Day 1...

i. www.Genesis-Mining.com

ii. www.ZeroPond.com

iii. www.Zcash-Miner.com

I invested in Genesis-Mining.com & Zcash-Miner.com, as ZeroPond.com pricing was too high. Initially, Genesis-Mining.com & Zcash-Miner.com pricing was at par. But, since the announcement of FPGA based Equihash mining, Zcash-Miner.com has become very profitable. Now, I'm mining ~1 ZEC per day with 10000 Sol/s.

Neither Genesis-Mining.com nor Zcash-Miner.com deduct any maintenance charge before payout. Zcash-Miner.com pay out daily to site wallet. Withdrawal to user wallet takes place every Monday. Verify their payment history - https://www.zcash-miner.com/payments.php

Zcash is so volatile and many people got burned including myself. So Im sure I am not the only one to take a wait and see stance.

Lately, Zcash is stabilizing ~50 USD. With the introduction of FPGA mining by https://www.Zcash-Miner.com, solve rate will rise to back up this price.

That would mean that is it is true ZCash mining is quite something of the past, because the market will be flooded by this new big hashrate coming from FPGA farms.

I think, none is providing FPGA to public yet. Zcash-Miner.com seems to have slashed their solve rate cost due to FPGA performance increase.

This is even worst if it isn't released to the public, as people will not know about it and the great farms will be making a lot of money because that will have a little impact on the network, but enough to alter it in the bad way for small home miners.

Unfortunately, this is already happening. But, u can not expect someone's private research work to go public without any incentive.

Yeah, I doubt they will ever release it except if they manage to include a fee hardcoded into the software, and do not mine anymore for them. That will make them a passive income, but this has no interest for the original developper to mine and release it, even more without a fee, because at the end this farm would earn a lot less.

Yep. There is no point in doing business without profit.

I think, as Zcash price is stabilizing around 50 USD, more companies will start looking for ways to build FPGA.

Re: Is it profitable to mine Zcash at Zcash-Miner.com?

https://www.Zcash-Miner.com is offering 10 Sol/s @ 0.0125 BTC.

You will earn about 1.5$ per day , that means you will ROI in 6.6 months. Depends what you consider profitable. But anyway, even looking at their site, design is shit, basic info, no pictures and other stuff that will prove that they are actually mining so it is most likely SCAM and I would recommend everyone to stay away from it.

I think, your concern is pointless. They are pretty consistent in payment from Day 1. Here is their payment history for verification - https://www.zcash-miner.com/payments.php

Meanwhile I haven't seen the diff and net hash this low since v8

In this occasion, I gathered more Zec from https://www.Zcash-Miner.com with my 900 Sol/s contract.

Solve Rate cost has been slashed to 0.00125 BTC/Sol/s on https://www.Zcash-Miner.com.

Nice info. Two important points to be mentioned here...

1. When the price of ZEC is going down, the Global Solve Rate is going down as well. Hence, Cloud Mining at fixed rate remains profitable.

2. I made a cost comparison between Genesis-Mining & Zcash-Miner. Read it below...

At Genesis-Mining,
260 Sol/s for one year cost 2699 USD, i.e. 3.59 BTC at current Preev rate.
Therefore, 10 Sol/s for one year cost 3.59/26, i.e. 0.138 BTC.

At Zcash-Miner,
10 Sol/s for three months cost 0.0125 BTC.
Therefore, 10 Sol/s for one year cost 0.0125*4, i.e. 0.05 BTC.

Hence, Genesis-Mining.com costs 0.138/0.05, i.e. 2.76 times higher than Zcash-Miner.com.
Nice comparison, But I don't think if they will get same number with his first investment.
Assuming With 10sols we can produce ZEC 0.001289 at the current price of btc you will get 0.00010btc a day equal btc. and 0.0001 * 30 = 0.003/Month. which mean you will get 0.036 a year.
https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/zec I don't think it have good accuracy.

ZEC price against BTC is fluctuating a LOT. It is pretty much difficult to tell the future at this point.

where it say that is monthly? the price is to expensive for beginners, and 10 sol will give you nothing, so you are fo rced to invest quite big at launch which is not convenient and too risky, they should do short terms instead of those long term if your months times are correct
Where did I say monthly? Shocked

Genesis-Mining.com is yearly (i.e. one year) and Zcash-Miner.com is quarterly (i.e. three months).

Zcash did it much better then i expected, i have fun mining it whit my big rig and in the cloud.
Which cloud miner did u buy your hash power from? I used all the 3...

a. www.Genesis-Mining.com

b. www.Zcash-Miner.com

c. www.ZeroPond.com

I'd have on good profit by now unless ZeroPond.com so drastically failed to deliver. They had the highest cost and delivered the worst of the lot.

A  www.Genesis-Mining.com, and i have a view rigs running as well.

RocketPie, can you make a comparison video? or review on this site? Love to see that!
ZeroPond is an absolute waste. They are now making thousands of excuses for their bad performance. Both Genesis-Mining & Zcash-Miner are good. The only difference is Zcash-Miner contracts last for 3 months as against Genesis-Mining's 1 year contract. Hence Zcash-Miner contracts cost 1/4th that of Genesis-Mining. Both are offering free mining in Slow-Start mining period.
