Re: [2024 Yearly Overview] Indian Board activity on Bitcointalk
by
Rotten Egg
on 29/01/2025, 22:47:53 UTC
Since the activity on reddit is very high from Indian crypto community whereas it is crawling in OG bitcoin forum.

Reddit has become a hub for crypto users from India, and the same is true for X.com.

I lately checked r/BitcoinIndia. That sub-Reddit is pretty dead like this sub-forum.

Am I missing something here?

Thank God that bitch of an FM is not to be seen. These IAS officers will now get someone who might be able to focus on us as a community rather destroying the community. This is just the beginning and by next election if the ruling part doesn't work in our favour then they will lose.
I guess, you mean previous FM Nirmala Sitharaman here. If that's the case, why do you think she can't be the FM again?

I know who are reporting my posts. But, why are you deleting those without even reading them? I don't need to wear a fucking signature for peanuts. I am calling out scammers of Indian Crypto community since 2014 for no incentive whatsoever. @theymos & @Cyrus Feel free to check my post history.

Putting forward my deleted posts for the community to see (though I don't have much hope for the signature beggars)...

Didn't I say the same thing @Bitcoin Smith! When you are not able to get into a signature campaign then the realisation happens. I have been through this problem otherwise I would have been holding a legendary rank now.

There was a time when I used to post request on Ratimov thread to get the next rank. Those were the days when none of the high profile members of the local board were interested in giving any merits.

None of them are interested now as they were once part of a mixer signature campaign which made them good money in Bitcoin. As of now since the FBI is tracking these guys they are not active on the local board.

I still remember some of them were getting paid every week, more than an IT manager gets paid in a year through that signature campaign. They have their alts active on the local board and in the forum. They are not Indians and I can prove one guy who is now retired.

I am pretty sure that you are talking about Ch*p M*xer campaign. If memory serves me right Heisenberg_Hunter & webtricks were participants to that campaign from India forum. Currently, they are not active on the local board either. Do you mean FBI is after them?

Also, who is not Indian and how do you prove that? Please put up your evidences in front of the community.

India forum does not have enough activity to get a dedicated merit source now. People in India forum speaks in English and if they may make merit-worthy post, global merit sources can easily cover it.

By the way, Heisenberg_Hunter's application to be a merit source for India forum was already granted. No?

Heisenberg's Merit Source Application for the Indian Board
He has been inactive for long. Check his merit spending and posting history.
@Heisenberg_Hunter also announced that he is no longer a merit source that he asked theymos to remove from being a merit source voluntarily for whatever reason.
Where did he say that he asked theymos? @theymos please respond if you are reading this. This is funny that one after another group will have their representative in merit source, who will retire once enough money is made using the position.

I'm not a merit source, but still I have quite a few smerits in my account which I will try to distribute when I have time  Smiley

The position has become difficult to handle and a few members were threatening me to distribute merits in our local. Hence, I have retired from the position  Smiley

Why edited the response out? Let people at Meta know what was happening behind. Who was threatening him for merit...

As for the recurring theme of why I did not take posts from the Indian section, the simple reason is because in the last 2months there has been very little traction in that section. Having generic threads and discussion posts does not make those posts merit worthy, which is why I did not take any of those into the OP.
Exactly the reason I said the following...

India forum does not have enough activity to get a dedicated merit source now.

Re: Got scammed by localbitcoins trader Prateeketc. Help required
by
Rotten Egg
on 07/10/2021, 09:31:00 UTC
Myself shahid from mumbai. I had an old stash of btc with me which i wanted to cash out. I choose to deal from localbitcoins. Since i did not have a verfied account there, i decided to contact a trader and execute a deal outside of localbitcoins.

I first contacted "Abidhussainf" but our times did not match so i went ahead and contacted another trader who goes by the id "Prateeketc". I contacted him on his whatsapp number  8217331774. He replied quickly and we dealt without escrow for Rs. 20000. Since the deal was successful, i decided to proceed with another deal of 50000 INR to which i sent him around 0.015 btc. He assured me that he will send me the funds in 10 minutes after which he went offline from whatsapp and even blocked me on calls now.

I got in touch with the local police station today who refereed me to cyber crime bran to register a case of fraud. They have asked me to submit his details asap. If anybody here has any details about this person kindly let me know.

Also it would be great if you guys please suggest me what other option i have to recover my amount
As per your information, this is the profile link of the scammer - https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/Prateeketc/. It seems he has ID, Passport or Driver’s license verified with LocalBitcoins. You must have a copy of your police report with you as well. Provide it to the LocalBitcoins support and ask for scammer's ID and hand it over to police. If support doesn't cooperate, take screenshot and provide it to Police as well.

Do NOT back out from chasing these scammers.
Localbitcoin has no reason to provide details of someone who is verified there since everything happened is outside of the Localbitcoin platform.

You can raise a complaint to your cyber cell or by using this website https://cybercrime.gov.in/Accept.aspx and obviously they will formward this case to your local police station and verify your FIR as well then they will start investigation.

But bitter truth is nothing is going to happen as soon as possible, it may take years or even forever to find this case.

You should not comment on something you have no idea about. If Police complaint is made and Court asks for this data LocalBitcoins.com has every reason to divulge details of this scammer, despite the fact that the trade did not take place on LocalBitcoins. Why? Becuase, if they're not compliant to a Court Order, Government of India may direct ISPs to block LocalBitcoins and start operation against those who trade over there. LocalBitcoins has no reason to lose a market as big as India to save a F**king scammer.

You sent me a PM just a couple of hours ago saying you did not feel comfortable to explain either in private or in public and you would not do it. What changed?

If you it took you days to decide that you will post and explain everything but you told me just a couple of hours ago you would not post and not explain and not share what you shared with Loyce - then there must be titanic struggle going on inside you.

You sent a PM just a couple of hours ago saying that everything was crystal clear and you had nothing to explain but now you post to say you will provide an explanation - so what has changed and why the need to explain now even though said everything is crystal clear? Certainly looking forward to reading your explanation by Friday at the latest.

It seems, someone is desperate to hide something. While looking at the history of these accounts, I stumbled upon a comment, that I believe, should be brought to notice for many.

S_Therapist also woke up from a year long hiatus a few days ago.
mdayonliner = S_Therapist = Little Mouse = DTalk = bitcoinbangladesh.org = RapTarX

The final goal is to have multiple accounts with 250+ earned merit, so that they can push one of these alts (probably Little Mouse, DTalk or RapTarX) into DT1. That would help them to pull an elaborate scam. Monitoring their trust list may reveal more in the long run.

I have no proof that there is any real connection among these accounts and hence leave it for investigation to the community.

Is it cause they genuinely fail to grasp it or simply to appeal more to the Western members on the forum?

What’s the issue with providing KYC, what are you hiding.

There must be 4 or 5 exchanges that have my full KYC, bank statements, selfie photo, home address, mobile number. I don’t understand your problem, if you need to provide KYC to withdraw funds then do it.

What are you talking about? You have done KYC at 5 exchanges or 50 is immaterial here. A service provider must clearly state beforehand whether they'll require KYC or not. If they need, then on what condition. And this must be clearly stated. If they are hiding it behind some long ToS to deny customer to withdraw their fund, then they are outright scamming and the community should call them out loud & open.

The thread by LAngel has been archived - http://archive.is/feqpv

are not legitimate and are a result of fraudulently manipulating GameArt’s Dawn of Olympus.
@Bitcasino.io If you know there is a part of your game design that can be exploited, why are you running it in the first place? Whoever wins BIG at a later date, can be denied of payment due to this same line of reasoning. The onus is on to you to fix your game design, not the gambler IMHO.

Below, you will see the publicly available proof from the Blockchain supporting our findings that there is indeed a pattern of a single individual
who we know to be manipulating and exploiting games across casino operators, and that LAngel is not as legitimately lucky as would have you believe.

Given the 100% match, our fraud team’s extensive findings supported by GameArt’s investigation and the history we have with this user
the account will not be unfrozen and the funds will not be paid out. There is no settlement, this is false information.
