Love this, it's the most reliable BTC price chart I've found.   Smiley

Wouldn't mind having time zone selection though.

Seconded. Not that the mental math is hard, but not having to do it would be even better. =)

Awesome site, by the way. I look like a finance wizard to my friends when I look at the charts. =P

Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Batch 3 [CLOSED- Seven 4 module Avalons ordered]

Same here. I wish I could have hosted a Group Buy, as electricity is just 0.0775 $/kWh where I live, but having no reputation whatsoever... It probably wouldn't have worked out. =P

I'd like to be able to participate in one of the many group buys for Avalon's third batch. I've made a few posts here and there in the newbie section, but it seems I'm running afoul of the "4 hours online" requirement. If my contributions are deemed to be enough, I would like to get out of newbie status to get a share in a mining operation. =)

As hellfrozenow said, LocalBitCoins might be a good option for you. I don't know if there are any sellers near where you live, but if so it would be quite a bit easier than verifying an account online - plus you'd get to keep your privacy! =)

Hi, just started mining.  So far I only have nvidia GPU's; that is about to change by friday cause i just a hd7790!

I am really concerned about the affects asiacs will have on the bitcoin ecosystem.

Yeah, that hit me in the face when I upgraded my ATI card to a shiny new GeForce 660 Ti. In games, it's awesome. In hashrate... Damn. And I sold my ATI card to a friend to finance my GeForce, too. Good thing he hasn't come to pick it up yet. =P

As for ASICs... Yeah, difficulty is starting to skyrocket, so GPU mining is getting harder. However, market price is also climbing, so it's still profitable to mine - for me, anyway. YMMV, depending on how costly electricity is around your part of the world.

Re: HOWTO: create a 100% secure wallet
by

would you trust an online wallet with considerable amount of bitcoins?

No, although I think blockchain.info is reasonably secure.

To store a "considerable" (definition subjective) amount of bitcoin, a cold wallet as described in this thread is by far the best solution. Your hot wallet "probably" won't get hacked, just like the pile of cash or gold you store in your protected-only-by-padlock garage or shed "probably" won't be stolen. Grin

Spot on. You're only secure if breaking your lock takes more effort that the perceived value behind it. If nobody know you've got gold in that shed, it's (mostly) as secure as if it was in a bank vault.

If everyone knows... It's another story. =P

hi everybody,

I'm from germany and highly interested in most btc topics.

I'm looking primarily for ways to invest some coins at the moment and this looks to be a good place for a start.

any hints regarding that search? always gladfull about help.

have a nice evening,
shitaifan

If you can't easily get money into an exchange, getting a few coins from LocalBitCoins might be a good way of doing that. =)

Hello!

I've been following BitCoin since about '10, and am thrilled to see it take off these days. Looking forward to seeing what's in the future for us! =D
