Lovely, let's get Iconic Expert on board for added nostalgia.

Thanks for putting BLK back in my radar though, didn't know there were any dramas.

How about we skip the IE part, once was enough. Right now we're working on what we need to to keep Blackcoin strong and relevant. Part of that involves moving away from a single dev to a dev team, that was not an intentional part of the plan but when your original dev seemingly abandons you with zero communication there is no other choice if you want to keep the project alive. Nobody is wishing ill on rat4, in fact, we wish he were still a part of the team but things moved on in his absence out of necessity.

I think PoW already over. Old coin.
Blackcoin is 4 yrs. old as of yesterday with continuous and current ongoing development and a thriving community. There is no mining and no miners to support or to use their power to extort the devs and community with. Blackcoin uses its "proof-of-stake" (PoS) operation to protect its blockchain in place of the miners. By maintaining an open wallet on your running computer the user is rewarded with staking coins. The more Blackcoin you have in your wallet the more frequently you will receive a stake reward. With its age, PoS operation, and its active community Blackcoin has a lot to offer and well worth investigating. We have a lot going on.

O.K. DrDolittle, you've proven yourself but why have you felt the need to sow the seeds of doubt in the community? Some of us have been here since the beginning and have always been willing to support you and your work but then you seemingly abandoned the project and expect it to be self-sustaining on autopilot for over a year. Then when people take it upon themselves to attempt to do something constructive to advance Blackcoin and keep it relevant you call them/us traitors. It's not about being traitorous, it has been about trying to keep Blackcoin alive in your absence. You don't have to be a one-man show, in fact, having you as a single point of failure as the only dev is problematic. If you want to lead, then lead, if not, go be a Satoshi and let those that are willing take over as in Bitcoin. I'm going to repeat myself, it's not about anybody being traitorous, the community came to believe we already had a Satoshi on our hands.

Based on this screenshot I took a few minutes ago of DrDolittle's activity here on BTCTalk it appears he's located in the time zone with the British Isles and certainly not in Russia where rat4 was located. The top time is my local time and the bottom time was DoLittle's local time, notice the 5 hr. difference. I'm located in the U.S. Eastern time zone, five hours forward certainly doesn't put DoLittle in Russia. I suppose it's possible he could be using a VPN... maybe.

Dolittle, rat4, whoever you are, it's pretty sad what you did to rat4's original ANN posting, that was a part of Blackcoin history and as I think about it, I don't think the real rat4 would ever change the name of Blackcoin, even if he was planning to do a hard fork, he had done more than one in the past and never did.

You can't simply take over Blackcoin by taking over a BTCTalk ANN. Some of us are beginning to hope you put up a good fight because it will be a good test for PoS and its security.

DoLittle, you know it would be so easy to prove yourself by using the wallet with your original donation address in it, but maybe you can't because you're not DoLittle, you're just little.

I agree sign something with B8gZqgY4r2RoEdqYk3QsAqFckyf9pRHN6i
Millions of people have this as the example address in their wallets. (blackcoin and all blackcoin forks.) so millions of people already know that rat4 wallet address is B8gZqgY4r2RoEdqYk3QsAqFckyf9pRHN6i
And we can all verify the signature with the blackcoin wallet by clicking File->Verify message.

(I don't exactly know if there are really millions of people, I just guess.)
I gave you a merit point for the laugh at the end.

Where can I buy Blacknet?

Wait for a good opportunity to buy BLK, then wait for the snapshot. That simple Smiley

And don't listen to FUD from mutineers like me is not me, or snapshot was already secretly done...

Whoever you are, you can remove rat4's wallet address from the ANN but the community still has it, B8gZqgY4r2RoEdqYk3QsAqFckyf9pRHN6i, no wallet verification, no belief, no confidence.

Here's what I know:

As I write this, Blackcoin is a little over 24 hrs. away from its launch birthday. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=469640.msg5330746#msg5330746

The name of the Pre-Ann was changed in the last 24 hrs. and presumably, only rat4 could have changed it unless he sold the account or it was hacked in some way.

In the recent past rat4 has been using the name DrDolittle here.

If you look them up, both rat4's and DrDolittle's accounts have been active today at close to the same time.

It seems to me there are way too many coincidences going on to believe it's not rat4 doing all this and somehow it is going to play on the birthday.

rat4 might be playing 5-level chess and we're not even in the game.

rat4.just say something.we need your word for blackcoin's future.i don't like fork.
Don't fear a fork, rat4 and the community have already conducted multiple hard forks in the past and I'm certain it can be done again. Not moving forward is not really an option if Blackcoin is to remain relevant and be able to move to bigger and better things in the future.

I've also been in BLK since the very first day and recent events feel appropriately timed.

From first hand experience helping where I can, Janko has pretty much single handedly pushed development work on for BLK for over 2 years. I would have no qualms whatsoever if he took the lead in its future.

If rat4/Dolittle's vision differs from Janko then we just need some clarification and input with a view to coming up with something everyone agrees with. If he remains quiet, he might have to build his dream himself without current support.

Maybe we should give rat4 a deadline to have explained what he meant so we're not hanging on for yet another year before major changes?

We tried to speak to him about this a year ago. We stopped getting responses, we know he is getting them as he selectively responds, we are talking about when this should all take place now. It was only when Janko brought up that he will be forking Blackcoin for new updates that he came back.

Rereading what he said, I think he is done with development on the original wallet.
I would agree with this last line as stated.

For those of you who don't know me, I am a long time Blackcoin community member and original miner of Blackcoin. It's my belief that Janko (with help from others) has taken over the dev duties of Blackcoin and it is not right to have Janko Et al. and the community to be put on hold and in a state of limbo waiting for rat4/Dr. Dolittle to make an appearance to tell us what his plans are. Any kind of operation, even a nonformal club has to have communication in order to operate. If there is no communication there is no operation, for this reason, until such time as things change I will throw my full support behind Janko and his future plans for Blackcoin and of course, the Blackcoin community. I'm not a technical person as far as being able to read or write code, that's just not me but I have been following developments and trust the opinion of others who do know these things and at this time believe Janko's plotted course is the way forward for Blackcoin and the community for now. If I ever come to believe differently and think I see a better way forward than our current direction I won't hesitate to voice my opinion.

Lore "Melinda" Wallet

Today I downloaded and installed the new "Melinda" Lore wallet (win64.zip), I was amazed at how fast it synced without using a bootstrap. After a small test transfer to the new wallet, I've moved all my local coins onto the Lore wallet. You cannot run both your old .qt wallet and the Lore wallet at the same time so in order to transfer your coins you will have to copy the receiving address from your Lore wallet once it has synced > close the Lore wallet > open .qt wallet > paste your Lore wallet address into the send function of the .qt wallet > send coins > close .qt wallet > reopen the Lore wallet and ensure coins have arrived > coins will begin staking after 8 hrs. in the wallet.

I'm still waiting on the coins to begin staking but I have both received and sent coins from the Lore wallet. At this time I'm seeing no issues with this wallet.

Thanks Janko

By the way, can anyone tell how to stake with BlackHalo? I unlocked the Wallet, and aktivate staking. Is this enough or do I need a cold staking IP insert?

80k is possible, it only needs more people to use it and see it as viable, convenient, low cost, efficient all those things.   No dam miner fees and easily faster then most coins should be such an appealing feature right now but its probably going to need a combination of all factors.    Its also better for the earth to use Blackcoin, the power used by Bitcoin is larger then Nigeria as an entire nation of hundreds of millions of people and BTC exceeds them in importance and energy cost somehow?     Its not feasible for that much power to be wasted ongoing when alternatives are available.

As far as the name, Blackcoin is a reference to the tokens or chips handed out in the biggest Las Vegas casinos so far as I know the blackchip or blackcoin is about 50k $  but it might vary between establishments.      I see no negatives in such a simple name, however not everyone has been in a classy casino so it'll vary in peoples perception as does everything.
Of course, I'm not saying 80k isn't possible but I also don't know what makes that number so important that I'm seeing it being mentioned by multiple people is all. I'd love to see it get there but as a number it's virtually meaningless unless you might be an unlikely person who bought  up there the last time BLK was there and you've been bagholding ever since. There might be a few but I'm pretty sure most have sold by now.

Proposal:Change the name from 'Blackcoin' to 'Darkcoin'. People are put off by the name at the moment, and 'Darkcoin' was succesful and changed it's name to 'Dash'. Meaning that 'Darkcoin' is now available and more appealing.
A name change has been considered a couple years ago because it was thought the Chinese objected to or didn't understand it but in reality, the Chinese are some of the biggest Blackcoin holders.

Time for blackcoin to go up will ever hit 80Ksats again?
I don't know what is so special about 80k, I saw it once or twice on Twitter today.
