I don't think about the 'land mass' being a requirement but they do have mass, but they are not recognized as a country. They claim to be recognized by the United Kingdom and what not but they actually aren't, and what's the point of being a king if you are only supposed to rule 50 people, and 1/5th of them already being your family. What's the point?
Probably just for the novelty value / attention they would get. Having your own island or country would be cool but not a crappy thing in the middle of the sea.
Unless I have a specific purchase I am planning on, I usually just exchange them as soon as I get them.
Why not save them as an investment? That's what I do though I don't need the cash so maybe it's different for those that do. I think btc will be worth a lot more than it is now in the future so I don't really want to spend them (though do like doing so over fiat etc)
My Favorite song among them all is the See you again by Wiz Khalifa.
That's your favorite song of all time? It's only been out a year hasn't it? Hardly a classic. With that being said I'm not even sure what my favorite is. Have lots but most of them are for nostalgic reasons.

Re: Predictions about Bitcoin Price on Halving block ?
So what are your predictions for Bitcoin price on the next halving block which should happen next year Q4 or beggining of 2017 .
I think the price will spike but much before then. People will be anticipating a steep rise so they'll be buying lots of coins which will have a knock on effect.
What effect do you all think Greece leaving the Euro might have on btc's fiat trading value?
Nothing unless Greek's start putting the money into bitcoin en masse.

He probably could have sent the money for free. Might have taken a bit longer but the fee is always worth it to support the miners. I also think charities are missing out not accepting bitcoin but I'm sure more will get involved over time.
I think he's just an optimist. I think bitcoin has a very good chance of being widely used online by then but I'm also a realist so we can only wait and see.
The answers will be different from country to country, based on their own tax laws and regulations. I am also intriqued by this and wonder how they will solve this problem.
They would most probably define it as digital currency under the current tax legislation {PayPal etc...}
^^^That. It all depends on where you are located and how Bitcoin is seen - is considered - there. In U.S. it is considered property. On the other hand there are countries that do not consider it at all.
Yeah. Every country will treat bitcoins differently, but I guarantee you new laws and regulations be coming out over the next couple of years to try best tax bitcoins. If they see people are trying to avoid taxes by using or saving bitcoins they'll soon change the rules so they can get their cut or thrown you in jail.

Re: 2015-05-11 The Washington Post - Liberland’s leader detained
Creates his own country Gets arrested stepping foot in it.
That's funny. I don't understand why he was arrested though. How can it be trespassing? Aren't people free to go there? It's just a forest by the sounds of things.
That's the TRUE question here.
What is it that they are so afraid of that they have to detain this guy? That people may want to join in on his fledgling idea and ditch their sadistic overlords?
Well I think they're afraid of him creating his own country which is on land that from the looks of things is disputed and two countries claim it as theirs. Maybe to settle the dispute they should give it to a third party but history shows people generally don't want to give 'their' land up.

Re: New rebublic Liberland to accept BTC as currency
Already 200 000 people all over the world registered for citizenship, and investors showed interest. Here are some picutures I found how they imagined it.
Yeah, who knew creating an entire country was little more than declaring you own something that is in dispute between other claimants, and sketching some SimCity pictures on top of it before 'the world' can catch up to your cunning ambition? Check and mate, statists! Now if you will kindly hurry up and recognize us in your little club you can waste no time getting us the dirty banker development and investment money you obviously are dying to spend here so we can build this shit and show you how independent we are from your antiquated systems and mouldering ideals.
That's called a pipe dream or a libertarian utopia fantasy . The thing is with these things they always start off with good intentions and ideas but the people who run them will get power hungry or soon find out how difficult it is to run a anarchist utopia, especially when shit kicks off or some bad apples infiltrate the group.
It's a shame it has come to this as he seemed like a good guy but if you want to do this sort of thing you need to either play by the rules or make yourself hidden.
It's not just that the USA is a police state.... It's actually the licenced casino's ganging up against the unlicensed casino's.
I would also be frustrated, if I had to pay millions in licensing fee's and the competition comes in and pays NO fees, and still operate.
My conspiracy theory : His operation was tipped off, by his competition.
He should have learned something from the "Seals With Clubs" bust and he did not... He just moved his operation to a NEW domain. { SwCPoker.eu } and this pizzed them off.
Move to one of the islands next time, like the others did... and exclude US players, to be safe.
I doubt anyone was tipped off. He wasn't exactly hiding what he was doing so is understandable if he hasn't got a license. Would you think a doctor practicing without a license was taken down by the police state? Sometimes regulations are there for a reason whether we like them or not.

Miners might have to look at alternative energy. Maybe the big mining farms in the future will be run off huge solar pannels or wind turbines etc and generate their own electricity for free.

Re: How can services that use the bitcoin blockchain help secure it?
I have asked what I think is an important that bitcoin faces here. Looking for some more responses, if anyone has any insight. As a bonus, the question has a 100 rep bounty that ends tomorrow.
Thanks!
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by 'securing it' but I think one of the biggest benefits of them utilizing the blockchain is promoting bitcoin and the technology to the wider masses. It's great for promotion of bitcoin so maybe it 'secures' it that way by making sure there's a wider demand.
Basically farming trust at all costs as far as I can see. It's a bit like paying for trust... The thing is, it's not really profitable haha
Yeah and you can farm trust using collateral anyways and its more safe that way
I think probably the majority of loans taken out are done just to build rep or feedback. Why do people really need to borrow tiny little amounts of btc otherwise? The only thing I can think of is gambling but thats a quick way to lose all your money as most people don't win in the long run.
Can someone explain what are the ways to make money on this forum?
Thanks
This forum is not about employment. It is about Bitcoin.
True, but this forum is also great for learning and talking about bitcoin whilst actually earning a little too either from signature campaigns or on the Marketplace (selling goods, providing services / lending money etc) and I think that's what makes this place so great.

Re: Rollin.io Signature Campaign - Earn up to 0.14 BTC Per Month!
38 signups sound huge. I wonder if a normal user would be able to reach similar stats when posting normal.
It sounds a lot but sign ups usually don't translate to actual money wagered unfortunately so you wont get anything unless they do. I had a couple of hundred on my PrimeDice account from posting my link elsewhere but only about 0.001 over a couple of months. I know some people who have had over 1btc in referrals though but that is very rare.

Re: Will you buy Bitcoin within the next three months?
by
Ruckspin
on 02/03/2015, 12:23:32 UTC
No. I've bought all the coins I wanted now I'm just going to wait.
In 3 months I might buy 1 bitcoin but it depends on a lot of factors, one of it involves getting money from an off-line investment I did some time back, so if it all works out. I'll buy 1 for sure.
You might be able to earn one bitcoin in three months fro your signature. No need to buy then though you could do both.

That's actually a good question which I'd never thought of and now would like to know the answer too. I guess you could try it out for yourself and see though .
