Re: How do I find the IP address of Avalon741 controller?
by

I have hooked the controller up to my network but it is set with a static IP address that doesn't match my network.  Isn't this why you have to log into the miner in the first place since they will not show up on networks until their IP is changed to match the network?  If it won't show up on the network how can I see it's IP address from IP scanner?

I thought Advanced IP scanner would work too but I don't see it connected to my network when I plug it in(I don't see it on the router or Advanced IP scanner).

I have one controller that is working with 20 miners.  It was a new controller so I was able to easily hook up to it by matching my laptops IP address to match the controllers range and directly connecting them.  I am trying to do that with another controller I have previously already had set up but I don't know the IP it was previously set to so I can't set my laptop to the matching range of the controller.

How can I find the IP address of a controller I directly hook up to my laptop through an ethernet cord?

I've changed that over and still nothing.  Everything still reads 0.

Pool - stratum+tcp://stratum.kano.is:80

Pool worker - myusername.avalon741

Password - x

I have those saved and applied.

My network settings should be fine if I can connect to it through browser, right?

I've solved the problem.

The wifi on the Avalon miner configuration tab has to be turned on for it to mine!

I thought just having the controller connected through lan cable would feed the Avalon miner an internet connection.  I guess I thought I was connecting to the miner through the browser when it's actually the controller your connecting to.

Don't forget to enable wifi in the miner advanced config options!

Avalon 741 help

I have logged into the avalon 741(using a laptop I switched IP ranges to match the Avalon) and switched the IP address range of the Avalon to match my network.

I can now connect and log into the Avalon from my network.

I logged into the menu and updated the pool info with "stratum+tcp://nonce.kano.is:27181", and updated the worker with username.workername, and password of x.

The miner is not mining for some reason.  Any ideas on why it is not mining?

I am having the same problem as OP.  I have logged into the avalon 741(using a laptop I switched IP ranges to match the Avalon) and switched the IP address range of the Avalon to match my network.

I can now connect and log into the Avalon from my network.

I logged into the menu and updated the pool info with the correct info, copied/pasted from pool page, and updated the worker with username.workname, and password of x.   The miner is not mining for some reason.  Any ideas on why it is not mining?

Did you get the pig tail from them also ?, i ordered a pico from ebay but i'm still looking for the pig tail

Check your PM.

Dang yeah those picos and the adapter assembly's are the only thing holding me back Sad  Don't want to buy from someone else Finksy's work great. Hope your back at it soon.

Can someone explain how the tower with 10 rigs gets its power from the wall?   I see yunn has 17x 30 amp outlet but I don't understand how the tower pdus can run 5 rigs on each pdu.  I guess in asking how do you plug each tower rig into the wall?  Thanks for the help

I'm not sure why this started all of a sudden but my rigs keep auto updating to the latest amd drivers.  I have clicked the "do not auto update" button when I install the drivers and also have deleted the amd updater that gets added to the Task Scheduler but they keep auto updating.  I have windows update turned off also.  Anyone have any idea where else there could be an auto updater hiding?

Question for all...

I have an issue I've never had before.  I have 12 rigs running, half msi 480 x 6cards and half R9 Furys x 5cards.   Two of my Fury rigs have some type of oily liquid leaking.  It's coming from one of the cards on each rig. Ever since I switched to 11.1 and started messing with the intensity did I notice the leaking.  I pulled the cards and am going to RMA them, was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them.  The temps of the cards aren't even close to the max rated so I'm not sure what the cause is.  The ambient temp in the room has been the same since I started mining 2ish months ago, fans blowing on all rigs.

I have 2 rigs x6 msi rx480 8gb cards(ellesmere 1303/2000 stock) on win 10, z97 gaming mb and 8gb ram, 1200watt psu.

Rig 1 has a small overclock of 1350/2100 using afterburner, tried the same on rig 2 and one of the GPU's crashed.

I am getting roughly 720-750 on each rig, 120 - 130/s per card.  Is there anything else I can do to increase speed?  I'm not sure what mod I would need for the cards bios or how to do memory overclock.  Any help is much appreciated.(I am happy with these speeds but would like to learn how to push the cards harder)

Also, what does undervolting the cards do?  Is that just to lower power consumption or does it help increase speed?
