Lol you guys are so naive. Do some searching before posting here.

What a joke you are as a PR person. As I said before I have been with this coin longer than you, and the only one here who seems to not be able to do the basic math and research required to figure out what these changes mean seems to be you (and the developers). Wake up.

The bias is strong in this nawazish1 individual.

Very professional of a "PR member" to call others naive and impatient and assuming they don't do research. Who is really naive?

How slimy of a move that is from the developers. The dump train is rolling in fast, they just ruined the last of their 1-stringed trust. OVER IS THIS GAME.

Bitcoin never died, it just lost some of it's value in the post bubble era. We are still in bitoin infancy.

Is infancy compatible with post bubble era?

Re: what is needed to make a coin valuable?
by

There needs to be something you can DO with it, and there has to be a way to attract adherents to the coin.  They key is therefore the ecosystem that is set up around it.  Is it on exchanges?  Does it have a marketplace?  How about a casino for those that like to gamble?  And of course a faucet or pay to watch site to draw in new casual users.

Too many folks just fork an existing coin and hope it works, put some time into developing a back end infrastructure of things to use it for rather than just "forking it and hope they come."

You understand one side to the problem. But what utility is there in an ecosystem for a clone if all potential adherents don't want to adhere? There needs to also be a preexisting innovation or at least the appearance of it for an ecosystem to have utility.

Scarcity of a coin would matter if the coin offered originality.

CryptogenicBullion: Advertising Ploy, Do Not Be Fooled

What is the difference? A tweak of the coin cap down to 1 million while the rest of the "originality" is copied.

Why tweak the coin cap down? - To advertise it as potentially worth 20x more than bitcoin.

To separate their coin from others, the coin becomes a "bullion" and is akin to an asset destined for "long term investors."

To distinguish their bullion from the "other" pump and dump agenda coins, their thread begins with how their coin is obviously not.

Do not be fooled "long term investors." Do not treat this coin any more precious than ChinaCoin

Value in its relation to bitcoin (ex: LTC/BTC)? Value is not by innovation alone. A heavy advertised clone of a coin can be worth more in its relation to bitcoin than an original coin that was hardly adopted.

Why not just keep upgrading Bitcoin?

That should be a given. But focusing on upgrades for one coin limits potential for other coins. Some creations cannot possibly be on Bitcoin and so they exist as alt coins.

Well im open to doing this if you can tell/show me how that work. I hear hey are as good as cash! I sell for cash and deposits at Bank of America and Face2Face for cash/debit/credit in Nassau county New York. Where are you?

Find someone to escrow it, who is trusted. Then send the btc to them first. Then the person with MP will send you MP, you will cash MP. Once MP is confirmed, tell escrow person to release btc to the other person who gave the MP. That's basically how I did it on the sealswithclubs.eu website. You can alternatively sell on that site, for MP.

kinda sounds like a pain! probly why people who take it want high fees! Well if your in NY< we can meet. I take deposits but not normally first time out. I like to meet my customers!

If you have customers you should know the security importance of escrow.

Re: will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day...?
by

Easily within 10 years.

The real question is, will it hit $10,000?

Or even $100,000?

My guess is yes and yes, but not for another 30-50 years.

This is absurd and delusional. Bitcoin will be the film to a new coin's Blu-Ray in under 10 years.

I think now we need zerocoin's approach as a standard to all new coins. Opinions?

I don't want to see any new coins period.

I got into bitcoin purely my accident. A major NZB site got shut down and the replacement I wanted only accepted BTC. I bought a few bitcoins for about 60 dollars and didnt think much about it, till I saw a new atricle about the big run up an price. I check my wallet and the few BTC I had was worth about 400.00. I then spent hours in this forum. I now have a couple of K invested in mining shares and run a few block erupters. Welcome.

I enjoy hearing stories like this. You used them so casually and by incident of profit you are involved in the community. Welcome!
