Not holy-grailing Mintcell bro... but IMHO they are the best quality on the market. I've used some other brands but got 2 fried like hot potatoes.

HAHA, all risers are the same, the problem is with the USER, you do realize it's made from china? They just bought in quantities and market it as their own.. I have tried many risers and i've never burnt one before.

LOOSE cable from anywhere, especially psu port side will burn it within seconds, that is why people should not use modular psu unless they have checked and make sure every connection is tight.

So I've got one machine with pretty bad mouse/sprite lagging. It starts when Ethereum mining starts. This machine was working fine and I had to rebuild it with a fresh Windows 10 install.

It's Windows 10, latest, all patches. ULPS is off, I have never used ethi so not thinking I need to start now.  I did try ethi 1 and the hash rate dropped significantly and still lagging. Visual effects in Win 10 are off.  I've tried everything I can think of and could use some ideas.  GEForce software isn't installed (or at least I don't see it anyplace).  Mix of RX580 cards and a couple of GTX 1060's. Radeon driver is the recent .5.1 and Nvidia is the latest one.

Help!

Thanks,
CJ

biostar board? check your task manager, is system interrupts cpu usage high?

Thanks, I already turned off PCI AER so that isn't it.  Any other ideas?

I doubt so, how did you turn it off? check your event viewer if it is flooded with whea_error

It looks like the miner hangs when switching to devfee mining:

Re: 0 Hashrate on 1/6 Rx 580 nitro+ gpu , breaks whole Rig
by

on 27/06/2018, 10:58:25 UTC
So i have a problem that i can't seem to be able to fix for awhile now

I have a rig with 6 x rx 580 nitro+ 8gb, dual core celeron, 4 gb ram, PSU EVGA 1300 w and a h110 d3a MB.This rig can only function with 5 gpus atm because as soon as i connect the 6th gpu , 2 other gpus along with the last connected gpu mine with 0, so i have 3 gpus that mine with 0.Soon after this happens i get blue screen, and restart.

I operate on windows 10, GPUS are all undervolted with -70 mv, core and memory 1090 and 2090.

I tried switching riser 2 times, switching gpu power cable , switching pci slot order, riser power cable and taking each gpu one at a time.

What i found out is the following.Gpu is fine and can mine ok when it is alone, all gpus are working actually so no problem from here.Risers are ok aswell(slot, cable and pci jack), power cable also.
Everything is ok when i add 2nd,3rd and 4th GPU.

Problem comes up when i add the 5th gpu this time from the opposite part of the rig, so that as soon as mining starts after dag is finished i can see that 2 or 3 cards mine with 0 , and soon after , error screen and restart.
What is this?I never encountered this problem before, i have 3 other rigs exactly like this and they all work fine and stable.
PSU problem?MB problem?

Whether you have mining mode enabled or not it doesn't matter. Enabling it only enables above 4g decoding and disable csm support.

If you disable csm support and didn't install windows using uefi mode then you will have issues. You don't have to enable mining mode. Just enable 4g decoding and enable csm support.

My settings are Disabled Intel virtualization, Pcie gen 1, enable 4g decoding, initial display igfx, mining mode disable, enable csm support. Unless you know you have flashed your windows 10 in uefi mode then you can go ahead and disable csm support. Make sure under csm video is uefi then save and reset and go in bios and then disable csm support.

How to flash windows 10 into your thumb drive in uefi mode, Google Rufus.
