Board Mining (Altcoins)
Re: Is GTX 1070 a good GPU miner, and what coin would it be most efficient for?

If you plan to buy it for mining than no. It would take too long to ROI. Nvidia cards are much more expensive for same performance. If you already have the card and don't care about ROI just want to mine a bit then it would be good

That is right. The main problem is that it is too expensive.

Depends on the parameter you prefer.Interest rates, options, leverage percentage?

For me the most important thing is safety, so I divide among different exchanges.Still Poloniex is my favorite...

yes. Poloniex is my favourite too. i do margin trading there. Its very smooth and without any problems.

The problem is that you cannot short sell the ZCash there.

Re: [2016-10-25] Taking Bitcoin off Market, ‘Hodling’ Best For Rise In Bitcoin Price
by
Rustin
on 26/10/2016, 07:43:26 UTC
"Hold

The best way to increase the price of Bitcoin is to buy and hold it, says a comment I came across on a discussion forum.

One of the forum members says ‘hodling’ is by far the best way to improve Bitcoin’s value though spending is great too when you can basically strongarm a merchant to start accepting the currency.

The argument from another member is that ‘hodling’ takes Bitcoin off the market, reduces the supply available to everyone else, and increases the price as a result. It could also mean signalling to whoever heeds that you value the asset enough to want to hold it, which in its own interpretation, could warrant keen interest from those who are yet to go into it.

Not to hold

An opposing view says spending Bitcoin helps to increase its value as it helps gain merchant adoption, which in turn, makes its acceptance possible in lots of places and Bitcoin will so gain more value in the process.

A non-use will stop even merchants that have adopted Bitcoin payments, since not many people are spending it just as reducing its supply in the market will create a huge barrier as the cost increases.

If no one wanted to hold Bitcoin, there would be many sellers and no buyers, and the price would be zero. If everyone wanted to hold it, there would more buyers that sellers, and the price would rise. Reality falls somewhere in between.

Rise in price

In the face of these arguments, remember the other established reason that may have prompted a user to hold on to Bitcoin: the speculation of a rise in its prices.

Lately, there has been a rise in the price of Bitcoin. The rise was attributed to the weakening yuan at first, then the other report says it must be as a result to the disruption in the operations of PayPal due to an attack by hackers. Later, there was a suggestion that the initiation and the ongoing negotiation between Bitfinex and the hacker who stole about $65 mln worth of Bitcoin in August brought about the rise. Whichever way, no one would like to part with their Bitcoin at a time like that unless it is the best thing to do.

Take away

While you dilate on your stance on which factor you think has been working well for the top digital currency, consider what cryptocurrency enthusiast Willy Woo had to say having looked closer at the question of which is better - to invest in between Bitcoin or a subset of upcoming cryptocurrencies.

He ran a set of price performance simulations of an index of Altcoins versus the Bitcoin and, according to his findings, putting your money into the largest and most prominent digital currency Bitcoin, is still the way forward."

The best thing I like about bitcoin is the privacy that is offers me, either in sending or receiving money or in gambling where I don't have to disclose my identity for doing the same.

That is right. You can use the bitcoin either as an invest or a currency. The price is also rising in the long term.

i like that bitcoin allows me to be free from banking system and i can really spend money as any way i want. that means i do jot have to answer any question while paying to anyone or reciving from anyone but at banking sector i have to and they also use my money for themself

That is right. But if the banks can adopt the bitcoin in the future, it is even better, I can borrow to buy house.

As per my own view for Bitcoin, It is the Currency Of The Future.
yes that is a fact and there is no doubt about this that bitcoin is the currency fo the future, and in future all the people of the world will be using the one and only currency currency ans that will be bitcoin, because bitcoin is the world number one crypto currency.

The bitcoin or some other coins are the future of the currency. The fiat issued by government are too inflationary.

"Conversely, the report states that large credit card brands, such as MasterCard and Visa, and banks could actually benefit greatly from the adoption of blockchain technology to lower transaction fees and back-office costs. Exchanges could also benefit from an increased bitcoin adoption, as foreign exchange and derivative trading revenues would increase if bitcoin were to be made available to trade and clear on exchanges."

Re: Ethereum Value Drops as Bitcoin Price Goes Past $670

What if ETC does not die in a month, what if it just keeps tagging along stubbornly?

As long as the big whales own the ETC and keep the price high, it will survive and miners will mine it.

Yes. The miners will just mine the more profitable coins and sell the coins for bitcoin. They do not like the particular coin.

Miners are in there for the money. I found that the mining hash of ETC is closely correlated with the ETC price.

It seems the ETC hashing has reduced over the last week from 1000 GH/s to 500 GH/s now. That is similar to the price drop.

The ETC hashing rate is still around 600 GH/s. The overall Ethereum hashing rate is at all time high at present.

If 70% of the miners support the longest fork, and the main chain is established properly, the price will jump.

We shall know the results of the hard fork in a few days. If the price drops a lot, the miners will lose a lot of money.

We already know the results of the hard fork. There are two version of the Ethereum now, the ETH and ETC.

It's a good time to buy eth as it seems it may go back up in a few days. About a few weeks ago, this also happened and I had quite a good profits from this.

Hard for is just two days away. I think we shall wait for several days to see the effects of hard fork before buying.
