3) And stop trying to wrangle out of using escrow because it makes you look like a complete scammer even if you aren't.

That's a classic scammer line offering a discount if they just trust you. There's nothing to stop you from running off with the money once you get it. Use escrow and provide proofs and you'll be fine, or only sell to someone fairly trusted.
No, not all are but people who try to get out of using escrow normally are. Don't tell people they need to send first because it sets alarm bells off.
