In the long term, Canaan Avalon 741's destroy S9's. Canaan miners are more sturdy than the crappy built S9's but sadly Canaan was too late to join the game.

And there is that people who take the numbers on the label more seriously than the build quality of the hardware.

I mean, If you lose 3-4 of 10 S9's in the long term while you got 9/10 741's up and running you actually make more money with the Canaan miners.

**btw 741's are having a discount if I'm not wrong. Its dropped to 714$ which makes it a no brainer deal. Much better choice than s9's now.

I hear everyone talk about how unreliable the Antminers is, how many have you guys lost? We have about 20 S9s/T7s/S7s and havent lost one. Are we lucky?

Hi kano. 1 August with BIP 148, do we have anything to worry about? Us miners in kano? I'm a bit stressed. I've read alot of OPINIONS, and I would rather want to know what you have to say.  Regards!
Ignore BIP148 - it's simply an attempt by a bunch of users to take control of Bitcoin away from miners - mining is the design of Bitcoin and it will stay that way.

I'll sort it out within the next week.
I'll hopefully be able to put the new KDB code live tomorrow, so that will finally be out of the way.

Looks like I'll simply have to accept that Bitcoin mining majority is going to accept some form of SegWit - and make sure when it activates, the pool will work on any and all SegWits that happen to be blundering around ... Tongue

Pretty much every block now has the /NYA/ 'expression of interest' in it and NYA effectively means SegWit also.
Seems Core has managed to con/force everyone into accepting it, pretending it's a block size solution Tongue

Don't forget that if it activates, your 1xxx addresses will cost 4 times as much to use per byte than 3xxx addresses
(yeah they really like their dodgy P2SH addresses and are forcing everyone to risk all their BTC on those dodgy addresses)

Once I've got that all ready I'll post about the details and then switch over the main work generator to using whatever is necessary.
Thank you kano. Appreciate it. I feel better now. Have a good one!

Re: List of Best GPU models for Ethereum and other altcoin mining
by
SA Bitcoin Brothers
on 01/06/2017, 07:49:09 UTC
Well i made an article for most used GPUs in end of 2016 ~ to 2017
if anyone got better results on lower  power consumption cards just hint and i will update the list

https://cryptocurrencyupdates.blogspot.com.eg/2017/05/best-gpu-models-for-ethereum-and-other.html

Thanks I will read it.

 with a nvidia 1070
I can do 430sol  use about 125 watts

with a nvidia 1080 ti
I can do 600 sol  use about 155 watts

the nvidia   can use msi afterburner

set power at 60%
set core at 100
set memory at 300
set fans at 75% manual

all of them
 the 1080 ti
 the 1080
 the 1070
 the 1060

All are better for zec then  any amd. in terms of watt to hash ratios.  no need to flash  but they are not cheap.  it is a tradeoff as to use amd or nvidia   Lots of space for your gear and lots of cheap power amd are better.   Space is tight  and your power cost more then 12 cents per watt the  nvidia are better.
For ether, is the best card for the price still the rx470 and 480. We want to build more rigs now and want to know what card to use. Thanks

Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool
by
SA Bitcoin Brothers
on 19/05/2017, 06:06:38 UTC
Bitmain continues to try to hide it's control of the Bitcoin network.
It's now blatantly running 4 pools (and who knows what other pools it controls)

Antpool 22%
Bixin 8%
BTC.com 6%
BTCConnect 0.2%

Beware of this shady company ...

Bixin used to be HaoBTC, are you sure they are Bitmain?
Just like BTCConnect (which of course Bitmain themselves confirmed is Bitmain), they use the Bitmain website code and the links point to BTC.com
There's no reason why a pool would purposefully point their miners to visit Bitmain's pool unless they were either stupid or it didn't matter since they are Bitmain.
Also why would HaoBTC change to be 'something else' ...
Good point!
