I didn't correct an error. I answered your question.
Why do you ask questions if you don't want answers?

Uh, where have I indicated I didn't like/want your answer to my question?  I seem to recall THANKING you for your answer, and encouraging you to correct me in the future.  Or am I missing something?

I'm not new here.
I kill Atlas' psychopacy by seriousness.

And it's "you're", not your.

And it's "psychopathy", not psychopacy.

Try agin?
Thank you for correcting me. I still have much to learn.
You and me both.

I'm trying to figure out why certain posts of mine have disappeared... Huh

Many of my posts (of late) have been WAY off-topic.  OK, I get that.  But how can an off-topic post be removed from the "Off-topic" section of this forum?  Seems strange to me, especially given the very LIBERAL posting policy on bitcointalk.org.

Read this while you can.  It will soon be deleted (or worse, moved to Meta)

It's a cougar. Bears have very short tails.

Thanks!  I didn't notice the long tail.  But I did notice the cat-like face.

In any case, feel free to follow me around the forum and correct any errors in my posts.  You will surely make me a better...erm, netizen?

Thanks for reading!

You meet a woman and after the first couple of dates, she tells you that she dates you only because you need her.

She felt bad about how infatuated you were with her and she only dated you for your own sake. You really weren't her type and she really didn't like the way you lived your life but she felt obligated out of her selfnessness to meet your needs. She sacrificed all of her selfish romantic desires and just focused on how much you depended on her. She was so selfless and altruistic in fact that she mostly admired your neediness and how sad you would be if she left you. She loved that your entire happiness depended on her presence and thus felt altruistic in her act.

Would you accept a "love" of this kind?

What you're describing ain't "love".  It's two people whose psychological pathologies intermesh to give them the illusion of "love".  Only the clinically codependent (or those who suffer from some other serious mental affliction) would think that the relationship you've described above qualifies as healthy.

Just guessing, but the "she" in your story above is a sociopath who will wring her victims dry and toss them away like so many old rags.

Good luck!

Great post, I agree with all of it.

Thanks...nice to know there's a like-minded bitcoiner here.

ps - nmteaco...you know Breaking Bad?  (ABQ, yo!)   Grin

I actually just eat at the Denny's that Walt was in at the start of this season about an hour ago. Its funny that in the show that Denny's is supposed to be in some other place, because its very recognizable as being in Albuquerque.

We really dont have that much meth in Albuquerque, and not nearly that many gang members! Wink Also I have never seen a tented house in New Mexico! They did get a few things right though, lots of people do refer to the area as "the 505". I do enjoy the show though.

Yeah, I worry about the impression such a popular show might give to your city.  Hell, there is WAY more meth where I live, but you know TV...

The wife & I have spent a couple of weeks in Taos/Red River every summer for damn near the last 20 years, sometimes visiting close friends in ABQ on the way up/back from TX.  Beautiful place you live in.  (jealous)  I'll lobby for going thru ABQ next summer and look you up.   Grin

Anyways  wish you continued success.

EDIT:  Now back to drunken troll wars!

Thanks for the update, nmteaco.  I think your experiences with BTC so far should serve as a wake-up call to the BTC community.

Now that all the "he just didn't know what he was doing" and "it's really not that complicated" and "the merchant was uninformed" arguments have been silenced, maybe this community will start to recognize that merchant adoption is perhaps the biggest obstacle to the success of bitcoin.  If merchants can't adopt it, BTC will remain mired in all the piss-ant drama that comes with the value of a currency being based on speculation vs fiat gambling (financial scams, ponzis, thefts, and security fuckups notwithstanding).

To be certain, I reject the argument that "merchant adoption will magically happen on it's own, sometime in the future (we promise!)".

Merchant adoption?  That's hard work...isn't it?  Yeah, it is.  But the reward of the hard work is that when BTC is made valuable to merchants, all of the rediculous ongoing drama that BTC can't seem to shake disappears like a fart in a windstorm.

@nmteaco, gotta say it again: thanks for sharing your experiences - and more importantly thanks for being patient with the small-minded who would so easily dismiss your problems WITHOUT providing any solutions.

True that.  I can't wait!

Maybe this could be the start of a "Drunken Troll Crewe"?   Cool

Hey: I was thinking about a business plan for a social media marketing & psy-ops biz to be called "Internet Trolls Wars". This detail might well add a bit of salt on it: best workers might receive bottles of Tequila.

Depends on the tequila. I have access to some pretty tasty private label stuff. I would work my ass off trolling and psy-oping for that shit.

I'm partial to the Don Pilar Anejo myself.  Definatley would throttle up the trolling for that.  What's your fav?

But seriously, it is quite a bit of fun...almost as much fun as watching the regular stream of drama that ensues from all the hacks, scams, and fuckups.

Because you are idiotically shouting questions when you have been instructed to ask them in e-mail.

I don't recall shouting anything, so no need to get so upset.

I have already discussed everything you have asked about privately with individuals with enough reading comprehension to understand how to proceed.

Cool story, except none of the information I've asked you to produce requires any level of secrecy at all.  Yet for some reason you refuse to provide the community at large with any details on how you plan to use their BTC, preferring instead to disseminate "information" about the project separately with individuals in the dark.  Why is that?  If all further info (other than that in your first post) was to be doled out by you via e-mail, why didn't you simply make your post and lock the thread?

Tell you what: if any of the individuals you claim to have dealt with privately is a long-time respected member of this forum, have them post in this thread vouching for your credibility.  Do that, and I might consider ceasing "idiotically shouting questions".  Otherwise I'll continue to post in this thread as I please.

You have missed your chance on this one, you blew it, better luck next time.

You sound like my wife.

You should take some business classes so you can stop grandstanding instead of striking while the iron is hot.

Not sure how taking business classes would stop anyone's grandstanding.  Perhaps you meant classes of a more spiritual nature?

In any case, I look forward to seeing Battlefield Earth on blu-ray at my local retailer.  Hopefully you can get it out there before the format dies.

You don't appear to be very customer-oriented...because in the time it took you to type that, you could have sent a PM with the details I've requested.

What's your problem with doing business via PM?

Myself and my clients in other dealings have found that a greater deal of security can be found by handling these issues offsite.  If you want customer service, go to Costco, I'm only looking for serious investors who are willing to put forth the same effort I am.
Huh

I don't understand.  How would sending a PM with, say, a high-level budget showing how you plan on spending the 48K BTC pose a security risk?  For that matter, how would posting a high-level budget in this thread pose a security risk?

BTW, Costco isn't really known for their customer service.   Tongue

Anyone with serious interest can contact me for further details.  I prefer, and I have found most clients prefer, to hammer out the details of deals such as this in private.

I have serious interest, and I have contacted you for further details in this thread.  Feel free to send me a pm with the particulars if you're uncomfortable posting them here.  Thanks in advance!

48K BTC is quite a sum...care to post a business plan/pro-formas?  It might help you attract investors.

Any interested parties can contact me by e-mail and I will put you in touch with my lawyer for more details.

Why do you need to refer individuals to your lawyer for details?  Why not just post them here?  Have you done any planning for this project at all?  If you haven't developed a business plan with accompanying financials, how did you arrive at the 48K BTC capital requirement?

Perhaps this has something to do with it:

from the link you posted:

Quote
The subsequent film adaptation, released in 2000, was a commercial failure and was criticized as one of the "worst films ever made".

Also from Rarity's link, there's this:

Quote
Fraud by Franchise Pictures
Following the failure of Battlefield Earth and other films independently produced by Franchise Pictures, The Wall Street Journal reported that the FBI was probing "the question of whether some independent motion picture companies have vastly inflated the budget of films in an effort to scam investors"

[...]

The case was heard before a jury in a Los Angeles federal courtroom in May–June 2004...Intertainment won the case and was awarded $121.7 million in damages.

The film cost ~$95M, earned  ~$30M, and Franchise Pictures pays out ~$122M in lawsuit judgements...let's release it on blu-ray!   Roll Eyes

What I am looking for is a loan in the amount of 48,000 BTC to spearhead a Blu Ray restoration and release of this excellent film.

48K BTC is quite a sum...care to post a business plan/pro-formas?  It might help you attract investors.

I do not make things up.  The clarity and sobriety of my mind means that unlike drug abusers I have not been robbed of the ability to read, remember, and understand the written word.

Possibly the funniest thing I've read on the internet all day.

That is a predictably immature response for you to make after being so soundly proven wrong.

The only thing you've actually proven with your activity in this thread is that you are mentally unbalanced.  The pages and pages of text in the scores of posts you've made in this thread indicate trouble on multiple axes.  You need to take the money you ridiculously proposed spending on drug testing for dank and spend it on psychiatric treatment for yourself.

Discussions of what my personal identity or beliefs may or may not be are off topic.  If you would like to discuss my identity or other off topic issues, feel free to start your own thread.

Actually they are not. Having stupid, ridiculous beliefs in magical SciFi directly impacts your credibility regarding other beliefs you may hold. If you believe in unsubstantiated magical BS, who's to say your beliefs about drugs don't come from unsubstantiated magical BS sources as well?

+1

All hail Xenu!

I have not claimed he was high 80% of the time now, I have merely pointed out that only addicts get high for all hours of the day every day and Dank has admitted doing so.  Addiction is a permanent condition and he is still, by his own admission, using. All the concerns you would have for an active drug addict are on the table.  A concerned investor does not have the luxury of simply taking an addicts word for it that despite their continuing drug use they are in control of all of their faculties.

Your claim is that since dank is a drug addict, Dank Bank is a (relatively) high risk investment.  You have yet to offer ANY factual evidence to support to your claim.

He has admitted his drug use and frequently driving under the influence, I need not prove what he has admitted.

Using marijuana and admitting DUI does not equal being an addict.  Prove that dank is an addict, or STFU.

I have already posted the reasons there are for concern.  Drug addicts are more likely to steal, which puts customer funds at risk.  Drug addicts are more likely to miss work, which puts the business at risk when the owner is the one with the drug problem.  Drug use damages the brain and the ability to think, which makes it more likely an owner might make bad decisions.  Drug users face risk of arrest which could threaten the existence of the business if the owner is in jail.  Driving while under the influence also risk arrest as well as a likely chance of death of the owner.  These are all facts any potential investor should be aware of.

Yeah...thing is, it doesn't matter what drug addicts are more/less likely to do - since you haven't proven dank is a drug addict.  Your speculations don't qualify as facts. (hic)
