Anyone trying Ripple?  I signed up for a new account but I'm struggling to figure out how to get any balance to start working it.  Supposedly they are giving away some XRPs to bitcoin users but I haven't figure that out yet.

Transfers take so long because the bitcoin has to be verified (i.e., calculated)...

If we just created a ripple account, it doesn't let you grant trust until you've already got a balance funded.  So how do you get that initial balance?
