Ethereum was the best of all, but if you already have it, then I suggest you to buy it again. But in case you absolutely want to buy a new one, I recommend you ZCash. Its partnership with Ethereum will make it something big.

You have lost nothing. Your holdings are just worth less in term of dollars. Just hold and forget. That may be hard to apply but you will be very rewarded some day. Do believe me, Bitcoin is definitely heading toward 10 000$ per coin by three years. So just wait three years or prove you are weak and sell, making sure that your money is gone !

There will be no ASIC for Ethereum because it is a memory-intensive algorithm rather than a CPU intensive one (GPUs are just many CPUs plugged together). So there will never be one for it.
