Why hold a dead coin knowing that it will take years to make money while all the other coins are making investors rich right now?

because many bought below $0.01 and have already profited over 4000%...
VERY few people bought at anything close to that price. Even if they did, why not make a profit off the coins that are surging right now. I just don't get it. Its clear xrp isn't moving right now, it's the only coin in the top 20 that hasn't moved this week.

THIS WEEK? you need a little more patience than that.

The crypto market has attracted some very dumb money that has never thought about investing before. People that usually spend their money loosing on poker are now "day traders" and jump from coin to coin. some make it, most dont. you can try and be one of them. or you can pick a good project with an actual use case, driven by a solid team.

Iv'e made over 65% gain this week, is that dumb? Ill give all of you a little tid bit from a real pro. Dash lead the alt boom of the spring that lead to a surge in all top alts. If you haven't figured it out, dash was the first coin once again to surge in the boom thats happening right now! The rest followed. XRP was the very last coin that surged around 400% end of march than again over 1000% surge at the end of april.XRP will surge eventually but it doesn't mean you have to miss out on the coins that are surging now. Things are happening in a similar pattern, If you research you can make a fortune. Good luck with your investments.

I was not calling you dumb. I was talking about the crypto market as a whole has attracted many people who dont analyze like you do. Thats why ripple is ignored at the moment.

Thanks all the best of luck to you as well!

"The technology we have developed, it separated a connection from the cryptocurrency or the token. So what that means is that a bank or non-bank like AMEX can use Ripple to connect and just exchange value from one fiat currency to another directly, without the need for any intermediate blockchain currency."

So they don't use XRP, only the ripple technology.

BUT BUT BUT

Cant wait for 2018 and the missed opportunity for exactly THOSE people. They will be back. Massively oversalted.

Yeah and why should they hire someone who is responsible for regulatory framework within the US to adopt XRP usage. Man people open your eyes its right before you. Those facts arent made up and shit, it all  comes together . In a few years people will read this thread and have a minute to honor some of the posters in here wich have given people the most legit informations and got trolled by mentally challenged patients. Me and many others wont be back into bitcointalk. We will life as legends!

I could not agree more. Just to add for others who dont know. Caullix and Flash FX are using XRP NOW.

Is there a possibility for a cooperation with SWIFT? seems like the time is ripe

https://bankinnovation.net/2017/11/whats-next-for-swift-apis-realtime-payments-and-cryptocurrency/

“In terms of organizations being able to transform their value propositions to their clients, APIs are part of the technology set of capabilities that are more readily available, more readily deployable today, and more readily able to drive change in that customer-based proposition,” Grainger said.

One area SWIFT will not be considering is generating its own digital assets, or cryptocurrency, Grainger said. This is at odds with other cross-border payment services, notably Ripple, whose digital currency XRP is used to conduct payments over its distributed ledger network.

However, that doesn’t mean SWIFT will ignore cryptocurrency entirely when it comes to its gpi service.

“Generating and being responsible for the issuance of an asset is not our business,” Grainger said. “If banks want to go down that route and create and issue assets that are available in alternative formats, we’re able to support them. Our network can support them, but we don’t want to compete in that space with our members.”

OMFG GUYS its getting really interesting!

WOW! This at the same time as JoelKatz says:

I think we're right at that critical point now where we are starting to pivot some customers to XRP for some corridors. We have enough adoption now and enough value and liquidity in XRP that that's realistic. Cuallix is, so far, the only announced partnership of this type. The main limiting factor right now is everyone having enough confidence that the system is going to work correctly that they're willing to flip the switch and let it make large, irreversible payments. This means, for example, correctly handling a large variety of failure/error cases which, though unlikely, must be properly handled in a production system. Fortunately, we went through a very similar process with xCurrent.

I bought my ripple @ 0,14$ and i will hold at least one year, i think ripple will double it`s price in the next months

That's a really good entry price and you could've already sold for double at a recent opportunity! I would advise against holding out for too much profit, while it may reach somewhere in the mid 30s I do not see it going any higher than that.

I'll *have* take to your advice based off your thought provoking analysis!

Volume and market cap look promising - support is here. Only thing that is lacking is the price to match it. Lots of action this month, breaking through the mid 30s is not impossible by any means.
If ripple is used as a fee to send a transaction, and ripple labs is trying to sell their tech to banks, wouldn't they want ripple to be low, so they can say it costs less than a cent to send a transaction? xrp is obviously manipulated by huge whales

It does not cost more to send a transaction if XRP is worth 10 USD. They need the price of XRP to be much higher because of the liquidity that is needed to send large transactions. Thats why XRP is only used by small fish at the moment. AMEX and other big fish will use XRP to save money as soon as there is liquidity.
