Antonioni has a long professional history within IBM. Antonioni started his career as a Systems Engineer in Argentina, holding several senior management, operations and executive positions. Antonioni served for over 25 years within the company.
Antonioni, was also a member of the IBM/AFE Board of Directors, participated in developing strategic directions and approving policy for the IBM/AFE corporation in 56 countries including Canada, India, Japan, China and Latin America, representing the Latin America point of view in key business issues. Later in his career, he was Systems Software Associates General Manager for Latin America. Agreed. I meant they risk losing IOC coins if they trade, because one day, soon, i am sure the price is going to rocket and that means they will have to buy back higher and have less coins

same here its almost 48 hours and my wallet is only now about 90 synced, still says out of sync, and the coins I sent are no where to be seen still. I suspect them to be twirling around the blockchain and probably will flounder their way into my pocketses soon. Yes, my precious!
by the way how do I become a full node wallet operator? is it like masternodes in darkcoin where you have to pay? How do I activate this feature in the wallet?
If you are having issues syncing the wallet, jumping to wanting to operate a full node may not be the best thing to focus on at this point. What is your experience with Linux?

Which wallet are you syncing? What is the OS? Is it on a laptop or desktop? Is it wired or wireless? Is UPnP enabled in your router? Do you have software or hardware firewalls in place that could slow it down? If it's a laptop, do you let it sleep or turn it on and off frequently? What kind of speed do you normally see from your ISP? Feel free to join our Slack and I can work with you to make sure you're setup optimally and no glaring issues are causing such a long time for the wallet to sync.

It's interesting seeing newer people looking at the coin and having no idea what kind of work, time, money and sacrifice has gone into it. That would all be meaningless if it weren't for the technological innovations being built around the chain. I would venture to say that most don't even realize the potential applications of this blockchain and development around it. The coin is just a piece, it has a monetary value assigned to it due to Exchange trades. The reason for the recent rise is new releases that have been worked on for a while now and are the foundation of things being built(or already built) on top of it that takes this project from fintech to as the philosophers say...something that is greater than the sum of all its parts. The more people see it as another alt coin, the more shake out will occur and put what is essentially a new animal into the hands of those that see the the idea outside of only the financial sector. Who could have guessed the Mr Arch, Moby, pay to be on my slack was a scammer? Every single person that has had any real contact or input on this project did. Edgar got BTC given to him and he controlled the Arch markets from the get go. Anyone that couldn't see that learned a valuable lesson. As for IOC, it has one place to go now. People will take profits at times and the assigned exchange value will drop. Now that we are where we are with development, I would agree with Crazy to anyone that sells at 3 cents is going to be kicking themselves in the ass later. Only time will tell. Best wishes for all on how they choose to buy/sell/hold/stake with I/O.

mr arch, moby...? slack for pay? edgar and arch markets. I have no clue. What have I been missing?
My apologies for getting off topic and causing you some confusion. I'd looked at posts 2765, 2766, 2769 and 2782 in our ANN and didn't want to be compared to another project. So, I went on a bit of a rant that would have been better placed in another ANN or just left alone completely by me. As for the rest of my post, I strongly believe in and support my statements about I/O Coin and I/O Digital. It is rare for me to find something in this crypto world that I utterly trust/believe in enough to not only work for free on it but also purchase/trade for every coin of it that I have with my own finances. So, my rant when I felt like it was being linked to something else was a late night knee jerk response.

Here are the Raspberry Pi wallets for IOCoin. Only the headless daemon (command line) wallet is included.
Important:
1) Always backup your wallet.dat first before you do anything
2) The wallet was built on Raspberry Pi2 (ARM7) running Raspbian Wheezy (v7) as well as Jessie (v8) and the instructions and scripts assume you are running as user "pi". It is a pre-requisite to have either Raspbian Wheezy or Jessie installed on your Pi micro-SD card. You can find instructions of how to do this on https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/ by either installing n00bs and selecting your OS or by downloading the image for one of the 2 versions of the OS.
3) Installation directory where the binaries are installed is ~/opt/iocoin or /home/pi/opt/iocoin
4) To run the wallet go to the directory with the wallets and run the daemon (iocoind_jessie or iocoin_wheezy depending on which version of the OS you have installed) with the options you want at the command prompt or in a terminal window
5) An Internet connection is required for the installation
6) A bootstrap.dat is available to fast track the blockchain sync - up to block 734407. The installation script does not force the install of the bootstrap.dat as it is very large. You need to manually download it, unzip it and place the bootstrap.dat in the ~/.iocoin folder and then run the wallet.
7) The bootstrap.dat also works for Windows wallets. Windows users just have to copy the bootstrap.dat file into their c\users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\IOCoin folder and run the Win client again
8.) You need at least an 8GB memory card for the wallet.
9) The installation itself takes about 30-45min on an out-of-the-box Pi, but due to the large chain it will take a few hours to import the blockchain.
10) You cannot just download the dynamic wallets, you have to run the script to get the dependencies as well else it will not run.
11) The installation script does not enable the UFW firewall by default. If you want to enable it, uncomment the UFW lines in the script and add the ports you want open and run it again or enable it manually by running the UFW commands as in the script with the correct port numbers from the command line.
12) Always verify the checksums when you download files to make sure it was downloaded ok. To verify the checksums on your Pi, go to the ~/opt/iocoin folder and execute sha256sum and md5sum and compare the values with the values in the checksums.txt file. Do the same for the bootstrap.dat

Just wait for the import to finish and the wallet will become responsive again.
3) Remember to always make a backup of your wallet.dat file before you do anything like encrypting it
4) To encrypt your wallet run the command ./iocoind_jessie encryptwallet or ./iocoind_wheezy encryptwallet
5) Once you have the wallet running, blockchain imported and your wallet with coins on the Pi, then you can kickstart staking by executing ./iocoind_jessie walletpasshprase 99999999 true or ./iocoind_wheezy walletpasshprase 99999999 true

Thank you for posting this. We truly appreciate your effort in putting this together. I/O Coin & I/O Digital staff does not at this point endorse using this wallet/method. While it may work very well and have no issues, it was not an internal development. We will be reviewing the instructions, code, wallet as well as the bootstrap to ensure is has no negative impact on the community, IOC, the blockchain, etc. Until this occurs...if one chooses to use this, they are doing so at their own risk. This in no way is an indication that this isn't the perfect solution for the Raspberry Pi. The team just wants to ensure we do our due diligence before we endorse this method. Again, thank you for putting this together and we are beginning the review and testing process immediately. After speaking with Joel and Richard...the 3 of us will each donate 1500 IOC to you for a total of 4500 IOC if everything in the code, bootstrap, wallet, testing on the Raspberry Pi, etc looks good and goes well.

But, you are a bit of a geek, do you own a Raspberry Pi 2 ? Trying to find someone who can instal and run the IOC wallet then people can use the Pi's for staking, much, much, cheaper as it uses a fraction of the electric a normal computer uses. Thank you.
PS: Staking above 50% again, very nice to see, i seen 60% the other day, The IOC blockchain is like a high maintenance women, you've got to keep it (staking) up for a long time to keep her happy!

Yes, I have a Raspberry Pi 2 that I purchased recently. I also have working instructions on getting an older copy of the wallet compiled and running on a Linux machine. I do plan on looking into this for Pi, but it isn't currently at the top of my list of priorities. It isn't part of our roadmap as far as I'm aware, but I think it's a good idea. As time permits...I'll be looking into it. At this time my focus is on other priorities that would have a greater positive impact. So it's a personal pet project at this time.

Just thinking about the recent "events" with Bitcoin and how Europe is concerned about private transactions, which could well be a big stumbling block for Bitcoin.
So, with this in mind, is I/O Coin working on something that will make payments fully Traceable? (as an option or maybe as is, standard)
Maybe the identity sidechain can work with transactions, so the transactions can easily be traced to the person who made the payments. I/O Coin would then have nothing to worry about when it comes to transactions.

We are very aware of the recent events in Europe and were discussing them as soon as the news came out. This is something I took very seriously as I have a lot of family in France and some future in-laws in France as well. I spoke with Joel on the phone the night the events took place. I want to be clear, I/O is not an Anon coin. The discussion of traceable payments came up and we discusses how traceable cash was, which in my opinion is not completely traceable. Then we talked about peoples right to privacy. I personally am not one that believes privacy/encryption=criminal activity/terrorism. I was recently reading an article from Coindesk about the low risk of Bitcoins use for money laundering which would obviously be linked to some sort of criminal activity if it had to be laundered in the first place. It was based on research the UK Treasury did and can be seen here:

We then talked about privacy and encryption which has been in use as far back as Julius Caesar and the Caesar Cipher:

Ciphers and encryption have continued to be used and evolve over the centuries as the breaking of ciphers/encryption methods via various techniques has evolved along with the methods used to make encrypted information private in the first place. It is a thin line in my mind to implement changes that would negate peoples right to privacy for non-criminal activity. I would also like to mention that transaction on the blockchain are on the blockchain, we are not hiding movement of crypto and have kept in line with Satoshi and his original ideas a much as possible. That people deserve a right to privacy regardless of where they are in the world. This is not a new idea. This also doesn't mean I am pro any sort of illegal activity. It is a tight rope walk that we are all aware of and one of the many reasons we aren't an Anon coin.

We have now hired a new dev to work on the api. He starts on Monday and we have a 2 week time period for completion of this api, if successful it will go to Pat for final integration of DIONs code into the wallet and then we go on Final testnet of DIONS. Let's all stay positive and I will be following up with the community by next friday. Thanks everyone.
Thanks for the update. I hope the community sees this and sees that issues arise and I/O doesn't run away from them, they keep pushing forward to do what they've set out to do.

Used them for 2 $15 USD purchases of dogecoin this month. Got both quickly. Time to setup account for Level 1 purchases was longer than expected, but not long enough to be an issue for me. Have not made larger purchases at this point.

I was very interested in Ethereum when I was made aware of it. 18 million USD crowdfunded and what came out of that was a huge disappointment to me personally. Now, Augur is following the same path in my opinion. While I respect that anyone can invest in whatever they chose, I will not personally invest in that project or projects that come out of it. I'm only speak for myself. I am no professional offering investment or trading advice. I just can't see how so much money could produce so little and then want to give them more money. I could be wrong and Ethereum/Augur investors could be filthy rich in the future. I am in fact holding back on how strongly I feel about those projects and the news surrounding them to be fair and not offer a completely bias statement or delve into the subject in this ANN. Everyone needs to research what the right investment for them is and is not. As to you, selling/trading all of your IOC...I don't believe that's an accurate statement. You had been a very strong supporter of IOC as you stated. I don't dispute that in the least. I in fact have past messages between you and I on Slack where you discussed how honest Joel is and how great IOC is. I can understand being removed from a position of regular talk and input with the IOC team as being hurtful to you. I can also understand that things of that type don't happen for no reason. So let's be honest here, why continue to hang around this thread if all of your IOC is gone? Why bring up other projects unrelated to IOC or I/O Digital in an ANN dedicated to it other than to attempt to stir up controversy? The reason I have been so brash with responses to you are because of those two questions. I simply see the posts as an attempt to hurt the coin, projects and team that work on it all. These are my personal view(s) and may or may not be shared by anyone else. I hope this brings an end to the back and forth jabs over the last couple pages of the ANN, but as always...people can post what they want including opposing views. I have done my best not to attack you with this post or share private information about anything or anyone being discussed. I am personally done with the discussion of other projects or replying to off topic posts that I don't think are relevant to this ANN thread. Though, if I see a post about another project in this ANN and feel it is relevant to discuss..I'm not opposed to doing so. I've re-read this post before posting it and I believe that I have been rational, honest and sincere in my response to the last few pages of the ANN regarding these topics.

For I/O Coin to be taken more seriously and to have a better chance of getting investment/real world businesses on board, surely the investors/business needs to know who they are dealing with.

I thought it was you! With all those aliases and apparent attempts at anonymity, I figured...must be Simon. Will probably have to use another name to code under so no one figures out it's him. Then I realized, couldn't be him...he has no technical background, sells t-shirts on eBay and is such a bad trader that it cost him almost everything. Must be someone else. Didn't know the new dev was anon. Could be that updating sites isn't instant, could be anything. I do enjoy a good laugh at your assumptions and child like emotional reactions to anything that you haven't been made aware of.

I think what they are doing with storing people's ID's on the blockchain is to help prevent fraud and also use the "ID" what people chose to give, so Open Bazaar "team" can then allocate a percentage score for the seller, the better the info the higher the score, EG: some people might just store a copy of a utility bill, while other may choose to put a driving licence (or some other higher rated document with a picture).
The ability to be able to store information, such as Identity is going to shake up the internet reselling (along with many more uses, as i posted that link as a example of how ID's stored on the blockchain, can be used for) in a very positive way, it is great to think the Identity Sidechain I/O Coin is working on has got some much potential and it really at the forefront of this new way of helping people to shop online more safely. Plus the other fantastic opportunities that will arise.
One thing that springs to mind is the current situation with the mass immigration in Europe, ho amazing it would be if "immigrants" people who flee their homeland due to wars, could quickly and easily be identified using the blockchain, if would certainly speed up the processing of applications and also give the governments a much more streamlined system when trying to ID people.

sounds way to big brother for me....you should send that idea off to chris christie...he's looking for just that system. also...I would imagine....to streamline govt systems...you do want to id everyone ...not just immigrants.

Identity and Blockchain are two topics that Satoshi was not fond of having together if it meant giving up privacy for easy of use. I'm talking actually identity, not an online name or a wallet address. From my perspective, it could be helpful in many ways as stated above...it could also lead to centralization in the form of information gathering which goes against the idea of crypto in the first place. It can be a tightrope walk, I'm glad more than one blockchain project and/or coin and/or currency exist and that each has the ability to be autonomous of all of the others. No one solution will make everyone happy as a feature in one piece of crypto/blockchain software can be something that 50% of people want or agree with while the other half is against it or has no need for it. That's something I love about this world of blockchains & crypto...the ability of choice.
