Re: [NEW] SupraBitcoin ★ An easy game to gamble Bitcoins. Provably fair, instant ★
by
Sat0shiSlot

Hello,

I'm here because I need your help. Like I said, SupraBitcoin is using the Blockchain API but it seems they have some issues right now (that explains Stagolee's bug by the way).
Articles on Bitcointalk are already talking about it (here for example : Blockchain receive payment api callback problems).
When a user adds funds, I sometimes have to wait several hours before receiving a notification from API. I'm not talking about the confirmations, I don't even receive the basic notification when the transaction appears on the network.

You can well imagine that this is problematic for a game like mine. The "instant" deposits are everything except instant...
So I was wondering, what should I do?
What is the best thing to do for the players of SupraBitcoin?

Just wait, hoping that the problem will be resolved in a short time, or change the payment service and temporarily disable SupraBitcoin?

Everyone does not seem to encounter the same problem with Blockchain. Do you know a trick/solution, like recreate a new online wallet (that is just an example, I don't think it will work)?

Thanks in advance.

Why not just run your own bitcoind? Good job with the game though, I will play some later on.

Can you supply any proof of the change of ownership?

I'm not sure how I would be able to do that. Any suggestions?

The domain is still in his name, so you could do an owner change and it will be displayed in the whois.

Yes, indeed! And the affiliate system is really smart too. It's so simple it's genius.

The smartest referral system I saw had just the affiliate's Bitcoin receiving address added to the url and then payments automatically sent out. That is brilliant.

Yes pretty good, but leads to bitcoin dust, since peope often gamble tiny amounts many times.
Infact sometimes the fee is comparable to the referral amount. (yes people gamble 0.0001)

There can still be a minimum payout amount, or payout only once a month.

They might show results similar to blockchain.info when people put a Bitcoin compatible address or transaction. I don't see why they wouldn't do this when Bitcoin becomes big since they have similar specialized search results for other things, such as currency conversion, time zones, weather etc. They would steal most of traffic blockchain.info has by doing this.

So, all slots are filled or you postponed everything with 10 player slots filled? Looks interesting but I don't understand exactly what's going on.

Re: Casascius worth less after,or the opposite?
by
Sat0shiSlot
on 24/03/2014, 04:10:22 UTC
Let's say I have a coin made by Casascius in perfect condition, and I have a second coin just made after the first one but it has a scratch on it. Then you would say the second coin is less valuable because of the scratch. But now I have a coin with exactly 1BTC, and the second is 1.0000001BTC (or something). Would you say the one with 1 BTC is more valuable or the other with the extra mBTC?

I don't think that anyone that knows how bitcoin works would mind there being a satoshi or two added to his/her Casascius coin. I wouldn't for sure. I would even consider "tainting" mine if I had any.

Nice one making it appear as satoshi, but I think it's best not to be ambiguous even when working for a "brand" that has satoshi in it, so I put a 0 instead of o.

Hacked account? Anyway if anyone sells BTC for paypal, let me know too. It would be very handy, but suicide to sell to people other than your IRL friends. And even then, paypal might reverse the transaction and or freeze the funds.

Re: Why so few Mt gox threads
by
Sat0shiSlot
on 23/03/2014, 15:53:17 UTC
Just wondering why there are so few Mt Gox threads when there used to be so many. Most of the ones there are are in legal and there aren't many there. Has the community really recovered from the theft of 850k coins so quickly?!

Its not like nothing is happening either. Gox has just been caught trying to squirell away 200k coins by a legal team and has had to acknowledge that it possess them.

Most people that are into Bitcoin enough as to create threads on this forum already got out of MtGox a long time ago. I got out half a year ago (at significant loss because they refused to send my withdrawals). I tried to convince people to get out but nobody would listen so I gave up trying to talk to people about it.

Re: Desktop wallet software question...

on 22/03/2014, 16:20:21 UTC
I remember reading something a while back (like 2 months ago) about about what's supposed to be THE best desktop client to use for managing wallets. I could be way wrong on this because I was reading a ton of stuff when I came across it, but it was touted to be the most secure one available and that it could be used on an infected system without worrying about coin loss or something.

I don't remember too much about it other than a f ton of people here said they use it.

I sorta have an idea on what the client name is now that I'm really thinking about it but I kinda wana hear what everyone has to say in case I am wrong.

Edit: Right now I use blockchain and with recent issues with them, it's got me thinking of alternatives since I still have almost a full BTC in shared send limbo that this CZ guy keeps saying is please let us know if you need more help without telling me how they can help me out since this was their F up.

It is very unlikely bitfinex would be scamming you, and they will get back to you on your support tickets.

It's very unlikely? What makes you say that? You do realize that a ridiculous number of Bitcoin "exchanges" have ended with the majority of the users losing money, don't you?

Has there been third party audits of BitFinex's operations?

Yeah, it's "unlikely" maybe if you define unlikely as below 50%. Most exchanges disappeared, most likely "hacked" by insiders.

It's increasing the amount of registerations and the amount of people posting and keeping this forum active also I'm hoping to get 10 Bitcoin to donate to the forum  Cheesy

It's lowering the quality of the forum if anything. The general Bitcoin Discussion for example has never had lower quality than now.

Was the 6 minute restriction from login to being allowed to post and 6 min wait between posts just lifted? For a change I could actually be active in a thread without getting the error messages saying I'm posting too quick.

Re: 2014 World Fiat Collapse?
by
Sat0shiSlot
on 22/03/2014, 15:46:14 UTC
As far as I can tell, there's no reason to believe fiat currencies/economies are headed for any kind of collapse.

Sure there is: the simple mathematical fact that an ever-increasing expansion of debt (which the current system is based on) is unsustainable.

It has to end, either voluntarily or involuntarily. And since TPTB don't seem too keen on letting the system end voluntarily....

Yes, but things usually drag out for years. The U.S. has had an unsustainable economic policy for decades, but still no revolution. The media is still supporting the current system. Critics have been proven right, but still nobody listens.

And what would FIAT be replaced with in 5 years??

In 5-10 years they might need to slash 3 zeros from the USD and call it the new dollar. Smiley

Re: What is the strongest fiat currency in the world today?
by
Sat0shiSlot
on 22/03/2014, 15:37:20 UTC
It seems the USD buys less and less each day, I wonder how other currencies are going compaired to USD.

USD might still be the most overvalued currency there is so you could say it's the "strongest" even though it lost a lot over the recent years.

The fact that all big fiats are being mishandled hides the relative fall of them all. Say the EUR wouldn't have been mishandled to such an extreme, it would have been worth at least a couple of dollars now.
