"They can "dictate monetary policy, which is normally the function of a central bank or a government", he said."

I do not think so. The monetary policy is determined by the algorithm already.

Re: [2018-04-12] Coindesk - Bitcoin Breakout: Price Jumps $1K in 60 Minutes

Being searching all day for any bit of positive news that might have caused the sudden spike and found nothing. I will be leaning towards the price being manipulated till I find something or the price stays strong for long.

I think only reason for it to rise is that the price has dropped too much recently.

Re: [2018-01-09] Cryptocurrency Market Struggles to Record Gains; BCH Spikes 25%

It is likely the money obtained via recent Bitcoin crash that got pumped into BCash. Let's not forget that Roger Ver has sold his Bitcoin stash recently. Now he and his minions may have decided it is right time to prop up their bastard child. Their short-term goal is to make BCash more attractive to speculators in these unsettled times.

I thought Roger Ver still got some bitcoin although he supports the bitcoin cash whole heartedly.

It seems that this is a game of a handful of Chinese elites who want to destroy Bitcoin, or China doesn`t want their altcoin rivaled by Bitcoin, because I know China is the King of the World Market for now, so they do not want or refuse Bitcoin to be a successful altcoin, do you remember this saying "If other people can do it, I also can do it" This is the principle of a greedy elite

There is no need to worry about it. Without the fraud in the Chinese exchanges, the bitcoin and bitcoin cash or other altcoin price will be more stable.

Well, I'm not afraid of it but rather it is the opposite because I am glad that it will happen not only that the speculation of bitcoin will rise but also the speculation or maybe the real that there is a good change in the blockchain transaction. I like the idea that it will be separated into two forks and what I'm gonna support is the hard fork because I think it is the good one and it's really have some advantage rather than the soft fork.

That is right. I think the SegWit will be activated before August one. So everything will be OK.

Is the recent drop in value of of Ripple odd? Is something on the news that might be causing it?
Or is it just setting up for a pump?
I've kind of invested heavily in this and this dip is quite concerning.

I think it is normal. The price has risen too much.

I don't see any reason why bitcoin will drop into bottom instantly i know bitcoin will be drop slowly but not into that price i know bitcoin will be more expensive and it will never be at that price, Our Indian mates are start adopting or imposing bitcoin to their community and bitcoin will be geting more stronger.
Yes I also doubt that bitcoin will ever cost 100$ again. Even some big hacking attak can't drop bitcoin so low. It's never late to buy bitcoin if you expect the price rising, cause bitcoin will grow higher, especially after next halving in next four years.

The fundamental technology of the bitcoin is sound. There are many hacks, but that is not related to bitcoin directly.

I wish i were at bitcoin when it were traded at 100 dollars, i joined bitcoin when it were being traded at 250-300 dollars, last year, to bitcoin reach again those value a huge problem must be found and exposed about bitcoin, or some big attacks and hackers over all exchanges and casinos. But this wont happen, atleast people is taking security as their main concern.
Move on mate ,nobody knows about what happened. Just pray that bitcoin could make it to the top of the world. This is what we are waiting for. Bitcoin flying to the moon.

That is right. It is very possible that the bitcoin price will not drop below $300 in the future, let alone $100.

Re: how strong is bitcoin really?
by

I can imagine that bitcoin is very strong it has a lot of funds in it and there are a lot of people investing in it too.
The foundation has been build if you asking me and it will only continue to grow stronger throughout the years.
I think the strength of bitcoin does not depend on the total funds of bitcoin, but from the users themselves. if bitcoin has little bitcoin users would be very weak and may be easily killed. but when bitcoin have hundreds of millions of users bitcoin would be very strong
I think that also it depends on the users of bitcoin, continuous increasing the users demand it will also increasing its value and in the crypto world no doubt that bitcoin if the leading and stronger coin than all other coins.

You are right with it and we can see the more users are going to start using bitcoins then that is going to make the price of bitcoin higher. And that is going to make the demand of bitcoins really high. And regarding its strength for its security we can see of how bitcoin is really strong and tough enough to compete with other currencies.

I think so. The more people use the bitcoin, the more popular it will be and the price will be higher.

People have been trying to hack bitcoin from years and of course there haven't been any success, The network is extremely strong and is secure enough to stand till now, I am sure it wouldn't be hacked with a calculator or anything like that ever IMO.

There is some success in hacking the bitcoin related business. But the bitcoin itself is not hacked in the past.

I have 3x r9 380x in 0,1,2 slots and 3x rx 480 in 3,4,5 slots but in miner there is a mess and 1 card is trolling and i don't know which one.

Pic: https://www.upload.ee/image/6171171/troll.jpg

How to correct that mess?

You can remove one card at a time in the PCIE slot. Or you can use the comment -di

-di    GPU indexes, default is all available GPUs. For example, if you have four GPUs "-di 02" will enable only first and third GPUs (#0 and #2).

Op you making good money by trading altcoin. can you suggest me how much minimum invest needed for making $10 profit everyday(average)?
Also can you suggest which coin is profitable within next week if i buy today?
thank you in advance

To make around 10$ daily on margin trading i, myself would need around 80-100 ETH worth of value.

I think ETH is the coin you're looking for ATM. Also AMP is going to explode in 2 weeks since their project is about to release then.

What is the reason that just in two weeks the hacker will be able to dump the stolen money in etc? Why cant he do it right now?

It's the rule inside the DAO platform.

This is my current situation http://prntscr.com/c82s0u So yesterday another day without profit. ETH started moving finally, Gnosis is coming out this week, devcon2 is near, ETC crash might be near as well...

I think the Ethereum ETH price will rise a lot at the end of August when the market expect the DAO hacker is going to dump soon.

The August is about to end and still we do not see any spike in the bitcoin prices. I must say that since the DAO attack Etherum has been divided into two chains ETH and ETC and this division is not giving full benefits to its Users and price is unable to fly like it was doing before the hack.
ETH, ETC, DAO... Don't get me wrong, but I have the impression that none of them are going anywhere. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I think the Ethereum price is stablising at the moment. It could rise a lot in the next few weeks when people are more confident in it.

Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred GPU Miner v4.6 (Windows/Linux)

I have one question.

I use v4.4 ETH only.

My miner did always push stable 100,5 MH/s. All cards had the same hashrate by 0.05 MH/s all day long.

Since some hours this differs. I have a 295x2 which always pushed 29,9 MH/s per core. Now it jumps from 27,5 to 29,8 to 28 and so one. It isn't stable anymore. I didn't change anything. Card is running at 60 degrees celsius which is pretty good.

I restarted the miner and I restarted the PC but I still have those unstable hasrates... anyone knows what's the problem?

Maybe the power is too high. There is power throttling. You can increase the power limit to higher levels.
