yeah  it will do 52 to 58 watts per th at the wall if lucky.

and maybe Nov for first orders

So that is just about 10-20% more efficient than the whatminer.

Anybody know the chip efficiency of whatminer? Bitmain is about 42J/TH.

Once ETH goes Proof of Stake fully, ETC will be INFINITELY more profitable to mine than ETH will be.

For that to happen, price of ETC must go 20-30 times up

The price won't matter, once ETH goes fully Proof of Stake income from mining it disappears as there will be NO MINING any more on it.

That's also going to dump profitability on ALL GPU mineable coins across the board though as the (currently) 9 million or more GPUs mining on ETH look for new homes, and will hammer profitability even harder on any remaining ethash coins as the E3 units in use by then look for new homes.

But thats exactly why ETC price will have to rise to make it profitable

I hope ETC will change the PoW so that it has wide miner community support.

If you have high electricity rates then don't mine with this rig, all the cards you mentioned above are power hungry and mining isn't profitable at this moment you should buy it and resell for gamers or mine if you have fair or free electricity

I think it is better to buy the nVida cards, they are less power hungery.

yes nice idea to resell after use

I only sell after it is not efficient to mine. Otherwise, I will keep it.

Re: [2012-12-06]BTC38 to Offer 0% Transaction Fee for Company Account
by

"ame Huang, CEO of btc38, told 8btc:

The purpose is to activate transaction and enhance order book depth. We believe that corporate accounts have advantage in being a market-maker and enhancing order book depth. With the 0% transaction fee, we hope to promote the market with more corporate users.
All trade pairs on BTC38 are subject to 0.1% transaction fee at the moment with the exception of TMC trade pair at 0.5%. The corporate accounts may enjoy the 0% fee by 31st Dec, 2017. The continuance of such policy is subject to future assessment.
The news soon raised concerns among the community:

Is BTC38 about to fake transaction volumes, too?
Some bashed the new rules :

The new policy is the final resort to rescue themselves. But it’s useless. Traders will go to international exchanges.
They are doomed.
Fermi pointed out:

No matter what btc38 does, they will find it hard to please everyone. As an electronic parts manufacturer, we are forced to cut spending on materials due to heated competition in order to survive. That’s the way of doing business in China. At least Btc38 is making some changes, let’s see some support here.
Some have already talked about registering a company in order to be qualified for the 0% transaction fee.

As one of the few altcoin exchanges that introduce CNY liquidity, BTC38 has been a hotspot for altcoin community to chase after since its founding in June, 2013. Some altcoins saw their record high on BTC38 during the 2013 bubble, especially against CNY.
On 22nd Nov 2016, BTC38 released new rules on adjustment of trade pairs. Some altcoins that used to have two trade pairs on BTC38 is reduced to one trade pair  , either against BTC or CNY. After the adjustment, there are 25 CNY trade pairs and 8 BTC trade pairs on BTC38.
The rules are not hard to follow:

1. Based on a weekly summary, the last 3 altcoins with the lowest transaction volume in CNY zone will be labeled with “*”.
2. If one particular coin is on the bottom for the 2nd time, then it will be labeled with double asterisk mark, like “**”.
3. Then the coin will be relocated from CNY to BTC column.
4. Meanwhile, the coin with highest volume against BTC will switch to CNY.
Basically, it’s a swap between the best and the worst altcoin and a race to gain liquidity with CNY. The adjustment will happen every Friday following the weekly summary. The new rules went live on 1st December 2016. The next day, ANC, BEC and DGC were tagged with “*” and HLB had the most transaction volume on the BTC side.

btc38

3 altcoins  tagged with asterisk mark on BTC38

Chinese bitcoiners would find this familiar if they had trading experience in A share stock market. In 2013, Shanghai Stock Exchange implemented a new policy:

Two kinds of stocks will be traded on the newly launched risk alert board, under the new policies. One is shares carrying “ST” (special treatment) or “*ST” tags, which suffer losses for two consecutive years or more, and the other is stocks that enter delisting procedures.
The effort was to

promote delisting reform and better protect investors’ interests.
BTC38 site was first launched as a crytocurrency news site in June, 2013 and switched to altcoin exchange several months later. The TMC coin was distributed free to all active traders as an incentive to expand user base and transaction. The strategy was very successful and BTC38 soon became a leading player in China. In April 2015, an online mall was brought online to test the e-commerce reception among cryptocurrency community. Meanwhile, the partnership with P2P lending platform was found somehow isolated from the crypto exchange. Users are not allowed to transfer CNY balance to the p2p lending platform.
54 articles were submitted on the writing contest to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of BTC38 in June,2016, which was one the most popular campaigns on 8btc. It’s an important sign of a robust community.

So far other altcoin exchanges like Jubi, Yuanbao and Bter have not followed up."

Re: Whats up with ETH? Price dropped to $9.3

That is because it will have another hard fork.

Hard Fork No. 4: Spurious Dragon

Posted by Hudson Jameson on November 18th, 2016.
The Ethereum network will be undergoing a hard fork at block number 2,675,000, which will likely occur between 15:00 and 16:00 UTC on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. A countdown timer can be seen at https://fork.codetract.io/. The Morden test network will be undergoing a hard fork at block number 1,885,000.

As a user, what do I need to do?

Download the latest version of your Ethereum client:

Latest version of Ethereum Wallet/Mist (v0.8.7)
Latest geth client (v1.5.2)
Latest Parity client (v1.4.4)
Latest ruby-ethereum client (v0.11.0)
What happens if I do not update my client?

If you are using an Ethereum client that is not updated for the upcoming hard fork, your client will sync to the pre-fork blockchain once the fork occurs. You will be stuck on an incompatible chain following the old rules and you will be unable to send ether or operate on the post-fork Ethereum network.

Importantly, if your client is not updated, it also means that any transactions you make will still be susceptible to replay attacks.

What if I am using a web or mobile Ethereum wallet like MyEtherWallet or Jaxx?

Ethereum websites and mobile applications that allow you to store ether and/or make transactions are running their own Ethereum client infrastructure to facilitate their services. Generally, you do not need to do anything if you use a third party web based or mobile Ethereum wallet. However, you should still check with your web or mobile Ethereum wallet provider to see what actions they are taking to update for the hard fork and if they are asking their users to take other steps.

In particular, you should ensure that transactions are generated with the new replay-protected EIP 155 scheme.

What do I do if my Ethereum client is having trouble syncing to the blockchain?

Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of your Ethereum client.

If you are using Geth or Mist, refer to this Ethereum StackExchange thread.
If you are using Parity, refer to this section of the Parity wiki.
Why are we proposing to hard fork the network?

“Spurious Dragon” is the second hard fork of the two-round hard fork response to the DoS attacks on the Ethereum network in September and October. The previous hard fork (a.k.a “Tangerine Whistle”) addressed immediate network health issues due to the attacks. The upcoming hard fork addresses important but less pressing matters such as further tuning opcode pricing to prevent future attacks on the network, enabling “debloat” of the blockchain state, and adding replay attack protection.

What changes are a part of this hard fork?

The following Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) describe the protocol changes implemented in this hard fork.

EIP 155: Replay attack protection – prevents transactions from one Ethereum chain from being rebroadcasted on an alternative chain. For example: If you send 150 test ether to someone from the Morden testnet, that same transaction cannot be replayed on the main Ethereum chain. Important note: EIP 155 is backwards compatible, so transactions generated with the “pre-Spurious-Dragon” format will still be accepted. However, to ensure you are protected against replay attacks, you will still need to use a wallet solution that implements EIP 155.
Be aware that this backwards compatibility also means that transactions created from alternative Ethereum based blockchains that have not implemented EIP 155 (such as Ethereum Classic) can still be replayed on the main Ethereum chain.
EIP 160: EXP cost increase – adjusts the price of `EXP` opcode so it balances the price of `EXP` with the computational complexity of the operation, essentially making it more difficult to slow down the network via computationally expensive contract operations.
EIP 161: State trie clearing – makes it possible to remove a large number of empty accounts that were put in the state at very low cost as a result of earlier DoS attacks. With this EIP, ’empty’ accounts are removed from the state whenever ‘touched’ by another transaction. Removal of the empty accounts greatly reduces blockchain state size, which will provide client optimizations such as faster sync times. The actual removal process will begin after the fork by systematically performing `CALL` to the empty accounts that were created by the attacks.
EIP 170: Contract code size limit – changes the maximum code size that a contract on the blockchain can have. This update prevents an attack scenario where large pieces of account code can be accessed repeatedly at a fixed gas cost. The maximum size has been set to 24576 bytes, which is larger than any currently deployed contract.
