Isn't $STRAT a beauty..

Together with all the #Development that's been made in 2018's bear market, $STRAT is a winner for anyone that sees the blue light at the end of the tunnel.

More releases to come this year and 2019 is going to be epic!

It surely is ;-) Been on this one since it's early days and I'm impressed what has been achieved this year. I'm excited as well what 2019 has in its pockets ;-)

Thank you Khilone for all the updates and effort. Always a pleasure to read you retrospects.

Re: At what price will you panic and start selling coins?

There will be no panic sell from my side. I invested only funds I can afford to loose.

I started this more out of technical interest to find out how bitcoin works. The price as a factor only got really interesting last year.

For me its hero or zero. I'm ready to loose it all or win it all.  Grin Grin Grin

Re: I wish I dump all the BTC in late DEC 2017

I tell you something. Selling at the near the ATH is not easy.

I had 5 Bitcoins, some  I got for about 230 dollars in 2015. The last one I bought in spring 2017 around 2500 dollars.

There was a point where it reached 6500 dollars. I thought WOW thats it lets sell only 1. I did sell, it dropped 20% and I had in mind to buy it back cheaper. Unfortunately my buy order was lower then the temporary low last year. It was painful to see Bitcoin going to its all time high last September.

But the good thing at that time was, I still had 4  Grin Very close to the all time high I decided to sell a second bitcoin which I don't regret. It provided my liquidity to buy again on the lows and helped me a lot to increase my portfolio in these and the future days.

So whats the takeout here. As some posters mentioned before, you never see the future. Escpecially right now. I personally think that selling some coins whilst we are in profit is a good thing and we buy backin when the prices are lower. Straightforward: Buy Low, Sell High  Wink

Having a certain set up aligned with a strategy certainly helps.

Yes I'm a HODLER, but not in the narrow sense.

Re: When to Sell Cryptocurrency...

I would rather make some money than nothing.

Absolutely true. Another guy mentioned to take out 10% each time it doubles which is also a good thing.

As for myself. The initial investment I like to take out in the midterm. In case crypto would be a complete failure (which I think is highly unlikely as of now) I wouldn't had lost any (fiat) money.
Differentiation is key, not only in crypto, also compared with other asset classes. In case one single coins sucks you will not take a heavy hit.

Before I make an investment in crypto I have a plan when to sell it. This can be "only" 20%, 100% etcetera. If it reaches it i will immediately realize it.

Another option I sometimes apply is: On some exchanges I adjust sell orders when the price keeps going up which gives me additional profit.

Dem kann ich nur zustimmen.

Errormeldungen bei Buy Orders und anschliessend waren dann drei Orders drin. Konnte gerade noch rechtzeitig canceln.

Schade, war eigentlich erste Wahl bei mir.

Re: Is Switzerland a cryptocurrency heaven?

Switzerland is part of EU.

With such a statement you are definitely not going to make friends in Switzerland  Grin The situation is as the above poster mentioned  Kiss

As a Swiss citizen I would say that the general environment in Switzerland is beneficial for cryptocurrencies. But I wouldn't say yet that Switzerland is a cryptocurrency heaven (e.g. compared with Japan).

But it's true in most train stations you are able to buy bitcoin (but not able to sell it). To be honest that sounds actually better than it really is. Conditions are bad compared with an online market place. Last time I checked there were fees that are significantly higher like e.g. on Kraken. You can't buy a train ticket with it.

Also the online stock broker Swissquote added Bitcoin support. However, you can only trade it against fiat currencies (only USD or EUR). There is no "wallet function" which means that cryptocurrencies can't be transferred out and you can't buy goods from such purchases. However they plan to add some other crypto's.

The Falcon private bank is way more interesting because it is opening the door for high net worth individuals to invest in cryptos.

There is also the city of Zug with it's adminstration accepting BTC as payment. But this is only until the equivalent of 200 CHF. Anyway a good start and for sure a markting coup.

All in all not really much flesh on the bone yet...

Re: OmiseGO Airdrop?
by
Schlaumeier
on 28/08/2017, 18:24:32 UTC
How much omisego do we get for 1 ETH?

That's a pretty good question that I asked myself as well. Most answers here were relating to market cap which changes every moment. I had a different approach. Therefore here I am with my first post, after almost two years being a silent observer. So a warm hello to everyone.

Now to my assumption:

5% of total supply of OMG will be airdropped. Thus total supply according to coinmarketcap will be 140,245,398 OMG. Taking 5% of it ==> 7,012,269 OMG will be airdropped.

Now I put in relation the actual supply of Ether.

At the time of my post around 94,295,606 Ether are in circulation (at the time of the snapshot probably less).

We take the Ether in circulation and divide through the roughly 7 mio. OMG that are dropped with result 13,44.

This means if per 13,44 Ether you will get 1 OMG. (roughly)

Someone holding 200 ETH gets around 15 OMG.
Someone holding 1000 ETH around 75 OMG.

I think that's it what you could expect.

addendum:
Taking current market cap into consideration:
Someone holding 200 ETH gets around 15 OMG.
Result: Someone holding 68,000 USD gets 125.05 USD ==> 0.18% as of now
