So this is nothing more than a Grin clone with the Bitcoin supply curve built into it? Couldn't you guys come up with your own supply curve? Now the emission is EXACTLY the same as Grin for the first 4 YEARS. The only difference is, you guys are putting 4% or 800k+ coins in your own pockets. That's just an outright SCAM

Don't waste your hash power on this one boys, no doubt there will be a more promising Grin forks in the next 4 years LOL.

[ANN] Grimble | PoW | 1st Grin Fork | MimbleWimble | Low Inflation!
by
Scofield
on 06/02/2019, 22:56:29 UTC
I am not the dev nor affiliated with this project, just posting on request of the dev.

What is Grimble?

Grimble is an anonymous PoW cryptocurrency based on the MimbleWimble protocol, with
a supply curve that encourages early investment and discourages the
extreme price volatility seen in other MimbleWimble based cryptocurrencies.

Anonymous

Grimble has no amounts and no addresses. Transactions can be trivially
aggregated. To hide where a newly created transaction comes from, it
gets relayed privately (a "random walk") among peers before it is
publicly announced.

Scalable

MimbleWimble leverages cryptography to allow most of the past
transaction data to be removed. This allows the blockchain to stay very
small,  and guarantees Grimble remains accessible for everyone.

Open To Everyone

Grimble is developed openly and transparantly. The coin distribution is
designed to be as fair, with a small 0.2% premine meant to encourage
further development, long term support and innovation. The 0.2% premine
will be used for development bounties, to reward community
participation, to compensate the developers for their effort and to
encourage long-term viability.

Grimble supply curve

Grimble has an initial block reward of 60 coins per block, with a 1
minute blocktime. After each cycle of 25,000 blocks, (slightly less than a month) the
reward is decreased by 1. The block reward is continually reduced by 1, until the block reward reaches 3 coins per block, at which point the reward remains low indefinitely to encourage
long-term viability. After the 57th reward adjustment, the reward
will reach 5% of its initial value and remain at that level indefinitely.

Please see the graph below to see the supply curve we’ve chosen.

Unless you like to watch the value of your coins evaporate everyday, Grimble is very useful.
Grin is a great project, but the with the current monetary supply this coin will we worth nothing in a few months.
I think the devs of Grimble did a pretty decent job of fixing that.

Fixing? ...

OK!

#crysx

Seems like a pretty decent supply curve to me now:

Grin experiment was a lot of fun. I've learned many things from it. But for now, it is time to move on to the next one. Mining Grin isn't really profitable anymore unless you sell right away. Hold for a few weeks/months and inflation will take a big cut of your profits. I'm currently mining Grimble: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5104584.0 the first Grin fork with adjusted monetary policy.. Difficulty is catching up quick now, but not near as high as Grin fortunately  Grin

There is the first clone coin from Grin coin.
[ANN] Grimble [GRB] | PoW Cuckatoo | MimbleWimble |Private | Low Inflation |
I don't see innovative technical ideas from Grimble team, honestly.

Well, with Grin's current monetary policy I can't say I'm suprised. People have been complaining about this since day 1. Pretty legit concern also, since all coins will be close to wortheless over time. (Dogecoin V2.0?)

That amount can be easily mined by the whole network in a day or 2. Does that weigh up against the fact that each second there is 1 Grin created, until eternity? The Grin project is great, but with the current monetary policy there is just no point in buying/mining/holding it, unless you want to sell a day or 2 later.

Grimble fixes that, for a very low price.

Lol, alot of hate as always. How about you noobs go back to bagholding Grin and watch your heavy bags evaporate over time due to the insane inflation?

Meanwhile I found several Grimble blocks, which was not the case with Grin even though I tried LOL.
Curious to see where this goes, you've got my support  Cheesy

If you're looking to mine some Grin but don't want the hassle and expanses of maintaining a rig, might as well rent some hashpower over at MiningRigRentals.com
There are plenty of rigs for rent now, and prices have dropped since most of the hype is gone now.  Wink

1PH/s - very nice start and hard to mine coin)

Hashrate is rather impressive for such a new coin. Seems to be alot of (silent) interest. Let's see if my good old Antminers can still rack in some blocks. High hopes for this coin!

Hope it hits an exchange soon  Wink

Re: GPU Rig crashing and melting plastic smell
by

More concretely:

1) Best case: your power supply is wired in such a way that each GPU riser has it's cable to the power supply.

2) Check to see if whatever software method you are using that sets up TDP, cclock, mem clock, is working.

3) I flog this a lot, I have lost PC's because of poor wiring: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Commercial-Electric-Tools-Outlet-Tester-Green-MS112H/206029154

I meant PSU not GPU sorry  Grin

Anyway its a Corsair HX1200, no more then a few months old.. ridiculous. I dont really feel like buying another 200€ PSU just to find out if thats the problem.. any other options? Does it really need to be 1200W when my rig draws 750-800W?

I haven't modified any settings of the PSU. I bought this rig ready to plug&play. It was running stable for 2/3 weeks, and then I left for vacation. When I came back these problems occured. I'm going to check and maybe replace the risers, however I'm still not sure which one is causing problems. The smell is all around the rig, I can't identify where it comes from yet.
