I bought bitcoins when they were ~$10 back in mid 2012, the good old days..

Looking back now it's one of those moments when you take a drink, look up and go "welp...missed that cash boat". Nonetheless even buying/selling in today's market is profitable if you pay enough attention to it. Which from the looks of things you all definitely got that covered.

I'm glad I'm not the only one haha. And in regards to bitcoin anonymous, that would be so BA (pun was most definitely intended here). It's ridiculous how much time I spend surfing articles and stories on bitcoin, Asicminer and bitcoin startups. It knows exactly how to grab me, and it never let go.

One person mentioned earlier that the drops also happen on the weekend (especially on Sundays) due to no bank's being open. And I heard a rumor that a few big players like to move the market on the weekends by selling a ton of bitcoins and buying them back up. I can't confirm this. Simply things I've heard around the block.

I've always been paranoid to keep my coins on a place like gox. I'm sure there are wallet services out there that are safe enough but for me I'll stick with my cold storage technique for the time being.

I use 13.4 on Windows 8 x64 and it works well with cgminer for me. Though I did try to mine LTC once with the same setup and that crashed. Still never figured it out entirely but I got closer when using Catalyst 12.8 (though it still ended up crashing with different errors).

Re: Mining Questions

I've been mining for a few months now. I have 6 AMD 7950's that average between 500-550 Mh/s. From the bitcoin hardware mining comparison you can get a glimpse of the graphics card that would best suit your need for a rig. I don't believe servers would be a good mining choice since they usually don't have graphics cards in them. So my 2 cents would be look over the chart here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison and make a decision off that. With my 6 cards I currently mine at 3.1 Gh/s and with the pool I'm in get between .09 and .12 bitcoins per day. Best of luck to you!

Well I'm definitely new to the community here but have been following bitcoin for 3-4 months now. It's turned into an obsession. If its a part of bitcoin I've dipped my hand in to test the water at least once. Looking forward to being part of the community.
