The PoS is something I want to market heavily (interest rate) as it secures the network and if promoted correctly can be compared to a traditional savings account (eventually).
Decreasing it should bring in new investors almost immediately though which we can support our growth with.

So I guess the question is, where's the balance that will both bring in new investors and secure the network?
Any real investor wants as small a float as possible. So 6%, 5%, 4%, 3% ?
I'm curious, probably a stupid question but if POS is needed to secure the network, what secures the network when the Minting is finished years later?
From what I understand, instead of minting new coins, you will be rewarded by the transaction fees.
Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.

Hey mintcoin people.. Just to bring the agenda current, I remember that I had pledged 1 Million mint for the Windows Phone wallet (not necessarily minting) and 1 Million for the online Mintcoin bank, whereby people on the web can have a 'hot wallet' for their mintcoins. There was some disparity because some community members wanted an online wallet that stores their interest, analogous to a 'term deposit', this was my preference. Other voices have put forward that the 'Mintcoin Fund' be the beneficiary of the interest. I propose at 50/50 or 25/75 split between the two. For example, I buy twenty thousand mintcoins in the bank, and after 20 days, I have 15% interest whereas the fund gets a 5% slice of the deposit amount. If I want more than that, I can get the android or web wallet (which could work on iphone as well) and mint it while I charge the phone or something. I'll update this on the fb page as well and add that to a record of the Android wallet pledges and such.

It still requires more planning before development can begin. There are a lot of technical things to consider.

Just out of curiosity, is this the first coin with a female lead right now?
We should look into that. That could get MintCoin quite a bit of publicity.

I am not in by any means apologizing for them. I am trying to keep the situation as positive as possible and trying to move the community forward.
I like the rest of the community started investing despite the pre-mine with the understanding that the pre-mine would be used to grow the community. I have been a constant pain in the rumpus to the prior developer asking for contributions from the pre-mine to accomplish the very tasks I am accomplishing right now behind the scenes with my own personal money. I am praying that as I show progress in both development and the value of the coin more people will donate to the bounties.
As noted in my tag cryptomommy - I am a mommy of three amazing little girls - which requires allot of patience, time, understanding, positive reinforcement and a ton of love. I would like to think that I try to bring these attributes to everything I do.
There is no sense in scolding the prior dev. They know they did wrong. They ARE assisting me in this migration and I am thankful for that on behalf of the community.
They could of simply told all of us to piss off and not bothered transferring the community rights over. (which is a primary tool needed to move forward).

I was honestly quite upset when I yesterday learned that devs stole the premine.
I was very close to dumping all my mints @ 3 satoshi.
Nevertheless, cryptomommy you have my support.
I will be keeping my mints, "to whatever end".

more sock puppetry instead of dealing with legitimate concerns about the identity of the "new development team", who promised transparency and now seeks to ignore requests for the same.
No one knows who Satoshi really is, but everyone stills hails him as an innovator and father of cryptocurrency. The transparency discussed was transparency about what is being done with the coin and how development is being handled. Part of cryptocurrency is anonymity. I understand why CryptoMommy doesn't want to put more of their personal information out there than she already has.

Yes, the coin has been taken down, losing 20% of its value, on a $.25 cent trade. This has been happening a lot of late.
Why is this good news?
Because a substantial amount of the trading has been to purposely keep the price low.

Like I said the first days it was released there are a few things it needs to grow.
1) Get rid of the premine. Noone will invest with it. U cant justify it for me. As an investor the owner thinks he knows better by holding billions.
2) If you insist on premine.. be liberal on giving to developers. By being cheap the owner and hence the stakeholders of this coin become cornered into the last step.
3) real development. pos is only the door.

The premine isn't "billions." The amount was announced before. And it has been being used to reward developers and those who help the coin. I can personally confirm this.

Just joined scribbler, when the community grows more places to discuss mint will be useful just like there are two block explorers. When one goes down we still got another. Every new website about mintcoin will only expend the mintcoin universe.

Sure, even though you seem to be confusing "rampant censorship" with basic moderation on MintcoinTalk or the subreddit
Also note that MintcoinTalk was created by a community member that is now missing in action. I had to ask for admin rights or it will be dead now...

I do regret saying that, and I apologize. I was getting depressed and desperate because people basically were saying there was no use for the forum currently after I spent almost two weeks working on it. 
I did note, however, that that was mainly an issue before the premine. There was even discussion involving some of the community's most notable members (not going to say names) about forking.
