How can I (force)update my balance?
repairwallet
The option repairwallet doesn't seem to exist. I typed help and got a long list of commands, but not that one.
Can I start with a blank wallet and recreate it with my private key? Or maybe create a new wallet and transfer the balance there? I assume I can get to my dope using the private key, even without the wallet?

Thanks for the help.

ScubaFuz

Unfortunately, it looks like the repairwallet option was removed in 4.1.  You could sync up 4.0.0.5 again and run it from that client's console.  It will absolutely straighten out your wallet and find your coins.  Find a link to my bootstrap up a few posts if you need it.

If you want to do it tritonium's way and get your private keys:

If you've only ever used one address then go to console and type
dumpprivekey

If you used a bunch of addresses then
Go to console and type dumpwallet walletkey.txt
This will create a txt file called walletkey.txt in the directory you launched the client from with all your private keys.
It's going to dump a file with 100 public addresses / keys you can view in notepad.
The one(s) you used that should have coins in them will have "label" next to the timestamp instead of "reserve=1".
Now, the question here is, since your wallet is a scrambled mess is this dump file going to be accurate in discerning addresses from reserves?

Now that you've got your key(s)
Exit the client and remove the old wallet.dat from the data directory.  A new one will be created when you relaunch the client.
Go back to console and type importprivkey .
Wallet will lock up for a up to a few minutes while it imports the key.
Any balances held in that private key will appear.
Problem with this method is if you have coins spread over several addresses this can get frustrating.

Thanks guys. It worked and I got my balance back.
I used the importprivkey option in a new wallet AFTER i checked which address held my balance and dumped the corresponding privkey. I dumped my privkey a long time ago, but the staking and new balance turned out to be on a new address with a different key.

Thanks for the support and excellent suggestions.

Hi,

I have been staking like crazy since january and just found out that that is a bad thing  Cry Apparently I was the last one on this particular chain, when it stopped
I have upgraded my client to 4.1 and re-synced. The client says I'm up to date, but my balance is zero. If I use my address on dopecoin explorer I see a balance there, that looks about right with 4 stakes coming in in january.
How can I (force)update my balance?

Thanks in advance,
ScubaFuz

You backed up your wallet.dat, yes?
You made sure you have a copy of wallet.dat in the data directory 4.1 is using, yes?
If so, then make another backup copy and put it aside, just in case.
Launch the client, go to the console window under  Help -> Debug
repairwallet
close the client and relaunch it.

What version were you using before upgrading to 4.1?

I have several backups. The oldest surviving one is from February, apparently after the chain got wild. That one gives an error and starts a rescan but ends with an zero balance and no transactions.
My other backup from early June does a rescan without error and shows my transactions, including the minted dope, which are the last transactions. The balance is still zero though. Bit odd that the last 4 transaction are dope comming in and the balance is zero.
I don't remember what version I was using before, but it may have been 4.0.0.5 from the dopecoin.com site.

The option repairwallet doesn't seem to exist. I typed help and got a long list of commands, but not that one.

I've got two clam clients running now, both with a few hundred clam in them. One for me and one for my son.
Would it be better to stake them seperately or to put the coins together and share the spoils? Would it make any difference in the long run?

Thanks.

I want to set up a second clam client on a different machine but syncing takes forever. I'd like to create a bootstrap file from the first client and import into the second one but I need some assistence.
After fixing the error messages about folder does not exist (datadir was set) and rpcpassword (told to me by clamd when clam-qt is not running) I'm left with the message "cannot connect to server".
Can someone tell me what the correct setup and command is for a bootstrap dump on the windows clam(-qt) client?

Stop your currently-running client. Archive the entire CLAMS datadir. Restart the client. Copy the archived complete datadir to the 2nd m/c, unarchive so that the datadir is where you want it, delete wallet.dat (2nd client will automatically create a new empty wallet.dat) then start your 2nd client. It should sync up straight away.

Cheers

Graham

That's odd, that was the first thing I tried and it didn't work. Tried it again now and it works like a charm.

Thanks, Graham. It probably just needed a magic kickstart from a legendary...

dump round 2 soon hit 50k again, bye2 clam holder
Hahah i told you guys, welcome your btc locked inside clam at bottom the sea  Cheesy

Whoever this dude is, he's making the most whack trading moves I've seen in a long time. He's either retarded, hacked or something deeper is going on. Dropping over 3% of the supply on one exchange in one minute is loopy. There's a whole bunch of CLAM at Bittrex that he could have sold into at a higher price.

The price has been dropping ever since. Maybe he wants to buy back at the bottem? It would be a daring move, and you're right, a retarded one. You can never predict this.

I have to correct myself. The move was buying the buy-wall, leaving the trader with a huge amounts of Clam that halved in price while he bought it. You can't buy back what you've already bought.
Anyway, I will be able to buy back what I sold on the way up, leaving me with more clam than I had before without investing any (extra) money. Me happy. Cheesy

Doge position right now is very good. The lowest ever. So, after this fork. All coins will surely shoot up. All traders will return back to the most profitable coins. Of course it includes the Doge. Because of its current position which is only 18 sats.

So expect the rise in the next 10-15 days.
hopefully.
I was tired enough to hold doge now, I bought a dogecoin for 25 sat.
makes me panic if you look at doge prices now.

It's never a good time to panic. That causes you to buy high and sell low. Have faith and keep buying on the way down. The price will go up again and my first guess would be that 40 sat is not too far away. You'll still make a good deal.

people selling alt's as btc climbs , and btc gold fork coming up.

Yes, this is typically how it goes.

That would mean the price will go up again after the fork. That would be nice. This might even coincide with the release of the Smoke exchange. That would speed things up.

I sold more than half of my clams on the way up. Now it's time to buy them back. I was waiting for this to happen and now I am glad.
Time to buy buy back everything I sold and wait for the price to rise again.

Cool, I hope you like the rewards and welcome to dope coin, we have the Smoke Exchange ICO going on at the moment which is brought to you by the dope coin creator.

This plans on giving Dope Coin a real-world tangible use so we expect the price to soar once the platform is Beta version is launched in Jan.

smokeexchange.com

Just a rough guess but I think 60,000 coins would see you get 30 dope reward every day approx

I have a wallet with 3000 coins that says staking will take approx 11 days. So roughly you need 11x3000=33000 coins for a daily stake, on avarage. 60,000 may give you a stake twice a day according to this calculation but maybe it doesn't quite work this way.

doge will 10$ in december, trust me , buy

I think the odds of Bitcoin reaching $10000 in December are greater then Doge reaching $10.  Grin

Yes. Even if we were to ignore the current state of affairs, 2x and some increase is more likely than a 10,000x increase.  Cheesy

Considered trading them out, but in the end I just invested most of my remaining coins in one of those casino sites.

Playing games is the best way to lose your coins.
Other than that there seem to be 3 camps out there. One that says the coin is dead and one that says it will soar to incredible heights. Both these sides seem to want this to happen, but I cannot understand why you would want a coin to die.
The third camp seems to be the realistic camp that simply looks at the history and tries to make accurate predictions. This is my preferred camp because those people can actually give some advice that's worth something.

I have bought some extra Doge at 20 sat and hope for the best.

dooglus,

I used to own and stake clams and was looking to get back in.
Are the average staking rates on presstab's website accurate or can you share with me what the current rates are roughly please?

Same here and curious about the same question

I don't know how to read the presstab site but the current weight accoring to my Clam client is around 900,000. That means you would need 625 CLAM (=900,000 / 1440) to succesfully stake once a day (on avarage).

I don't see any number on Presstab that nears 900,000 but that's maybe because they don't take into account the number of Clams that are actually being staked. Lots of Clam is just laying on a (virtual) shelf and doing nothing. maybe someone can explain this better?

From 0.00210 to 0.00250 in one day is more than a little pump. Back to 0.00230 now. Since I am done selling and want to buy back the price may fall back down again. The buyers chart on Poloniex makes a fall below 0.00220 quite unlikely though. We'll see what happens. So far the pumpers are doing an excellent job.

I was recently reminded of possessing Dogecoins. My wallet is now almost up to date after having been inactive for over 3 years. Currently have 46400 DOGE. What do you guys think, keep, sell, buy more? Bought some LTC today as well.

isn't there billions of doge coin?.. 46k doesn't seem much for a long hold. Buy some more on the dips or sell. Grin

111,392,579,976 as of today.

FFFF dude, this is too much. The price won't move anywhere with this big of supply.

The price didint move not because of supply but lack of innovation lately
Since people expect more use of DOGE to drive the demand that finally drive the price

Side note, doge price in USD already up since few years ago and at least its cover usd inflation.

Dont hope so much in term against btc, DOGE wills tay below 50 satoshi for very long time if dev not come with something interesting

Didn't the price drop because the chinese started dumping their Doge? If that's the case the price will go up again when they re-enter the market. Doge is becoming a mainstream coin to be used everywhere, so there is a good use case. Bitcoin is also just a coin with no other functionality but that doesn't seem to be a problem. The statement that all cryptocoins need to fullfill some other purpose as well may be true for new coins but not for the old ones that have existed since the beginning.

Clamcoin one of the best altcoin!  Smiley

You are right tonbit1239, many of us feel that way.

A lot of the CLAMMunity has to sell coins to survive in real life.

I know a number of people that sell the coins they stake and save the "CLAM mining rig" as their investment.

I see Clamcoins like little digital mining rigs that can be broken down into very very very small units.

CLAM investors are either: Very rich and don't mind OR People hustling hard to finally have a "stable" income in their life.  Not much in between Tongue!

I do not fully agree with this analisys. I don't need CLAM (or any altcoin) to survive and I am certaninly not rich. I have a small amount, which I love, and would like to get more. I hope to achieve this by selling Clam high and buying more back low. To do this the price needs to fluctuate and shouldn't get too high.
If there are many investors like myself the price will not go up quickly because we try to sell at every peak and hope the price will drop again. This may be one of the reasons the price is so stable.

Personally I don't care much if Clam is worth $10 or $100 at this time, I just want as much clam as I can get my (virtual) hands on. When I have reached my goal, the price may soar but until then I'd rather it stays low.

damn... according to my .xls file at less 10k, I was not regular in my book... Yesterday I notice that I loose 40,3 dash (that was darkcoin at this time) I got them in my book but I'can't find the backup wallet... this is to much for me I'm really sad. Thank you for the information have a nice day

No matter which coin you have, you should always make a backup of the private key and store that in a safe place. That way you can never really lose your coins.
