I agree (half a month later), but since Bitcoin (and ETH/XRP) made a lot of people very rich in real money up to this point, the borders have pretty much fallen by now. Crypto was a good idea before people tried to make profit of it.

Ripple basically mimicking the structure of real money (centralism, monopoly) is a good explanation why banks use it - and it is also a good explanation why you, who mostly are not a bank, should be careful.

In opposite to XRP, XEM is not just a vehicle for a blockchain and it has an awesome performance IMO. Get some while they are affordable.

It really should stop stalling.

This will - for a number of reasons - never happen, the most prominent being that it is time for a major fallout. Bitcoin won't have just another multi-million percent rise anymore. The bubble will burst soon(ish).
The other major reason is that Bitcoins - unlike e.g. stocks - are not "valued" outside the internet. You don't own a real thing when you buy a Bitcoin.

Admittedly, today's money is mostly virtual.
But it won't die. Bitcoin will.

Marketing alone is not really a progress for the coin unless the price rises with it.
