New Favorite Crypto-Exchange (BTC/LTC <--> $₤€) (and LTC Giveaways!)

I've recently signed up for Crypto-Trade because of contests and giveaways on Reddit and they've really won me over.  They have a livechat that's with attended by admins, and the users are really nice people who are quite helpful for people getting started in crypto-trading (even at 4am Hong Kong Time).

I used to use bter for trading my newer altcoins but I wasn't entirely convinced that I could trust that site to hold onto my money, since that URL was a porn-torrent site as recently as last year.  (I found that out from my web-filter at work!  Luckily I'm still employed.  NSFW Proof.)  Another downside is that site doesn't have options to withdraw to USD while cryptotrade lets you withdraw using OKPay or Perfectmoney to cash out to a bank account, or directly/anonymously via moneygram or western union.

Even though I am reassured by having those options for cashing out, they all have the common problem of requiring me to leave the house, so what I usually end up doing is buying Amazon gift cards from Gyft in order to avoid fees or having to put on pants.

I just want to state that I don't work for either of those companies, in fact I am just some guy on the opposite side of the globe from them.  I won 2 LTC in a giveaway contests on Reddit, and afterwards spent quite a while afterwards chatting with them on their site.  I had a great time getting to know a total stranger on the other side of the planet, and they were extremely receptive to any suggestions I made about Reddit's most active times throughout the week, time zones, and designing their contest so to give new users a fair chance of winning.  Because I can see that they have a great site run by great people, I know I'll be using it throughout the foreseeable future, and so I have no qualms about spreading the word about my good experiences.

Re: Give your opinion of the Sapphire 6GB HD 7970 Vapor-X GHz Edition for Mining???

6gb of VRam are absolutely worthless.  You will never use it in gaming before the card itself is obsolete, and you will never use it in bitcoin/altcoin mining.

Get this instead:

Re: 7950 BTC vs. LTC hashrate

I just found out that apparently I can't change the voltage on my card (Trixx shows the changes, but GPU-Z and CGMiner both show the stock voltage). Along with this, I can't change the memory clock speed (Trixx again shows what I set it to, but CGMiner and GPU-Z show different).

That sucks, Sad.

Many cards are voltage locked, many aren't.  Try again using MSI afterburner with unofficial overclock mode turned on.  If that fails, see if you can flash your card's bios to another with a lower voltage setting.

Furthermore, cgminer always shows incorrect GPU voltages for my card.  It will show 1.25v even when I'm running at 1.0v

I'm in the first 0.1% of the population to like dogs!  I'm a dog early adopter!

I doubt that the bitcoin demographic and the facebook-like demographic overlaps much.

Core voltages are set as (1mV per 1MHz)+10mV, and my memory voltage is brought down to 1500mV.

I use a ratio of Clock Speed x 1.535 = Memory Speed. Intensity = 20, concurrency = 22,400, 1 GPU thread.

955/1466 -> 565 - 580kh/s
977/1500 -> 585 - 595kh/s
1010/1550 -> 590 - 615kh/s
1043/1600 -> 605 - 635kh/s
1075/1650 -> 640 - 658kh/s
1113/1700 -> 670 - 680kh/s
1140/1750 -> 675 - 695kh/s

The slower of the two is the launch day model, and is probably slower because it's displaying my desktop at a 144hz refresh rate. I can only run the cards at 700+kh/s during the winter when my ambient temps are 60F or lower.

WARNING:

I used a bitcoin faucet, and the "dustcoins" in my wallet caused a 1 week delay in a transaction that I sent (with proper fee).

The 1% of 1 cent that you will earn with these faucets are not worth the problems you will cause yourself with transactions being stuck in limbo.

Right now feather coin is more profitable than litecoin.

Feathercoin is pretty much dead, the profitability is an artifact of the 51% attack it underwent.
