I have absolutely no info, but I want to believe it will be released eventually... No updates were made for a very long time. It might be a good idea to get some tokens if one can get them cheap... and then come back in some 12 months or so. People behind this project probably have daily jobs and obligations. You have to live from something. This is probably something they work on when they have some free time. I hope it gets finished and released one day, but again - there is no way to know for certain.

Blockchain from scratch is not an easy thing to pull off... especially considering all those features envisioned to be implemented in the future. Thanks for the update.

I'm not (and never was) affiliated in any way with JSChain. I don't know anything more than you guys. I can only assume... As for activity - I definitely wouldn't mind more frequent updates, but I'm patient. Some others are probably not and there we have some fake hype for someone to fill his/her high sell orders.

If you look at the previous posts of Ontological0, Locker5000 and RickJansen - you'll see those are very likely different accounts of the same person as same comments are just copied between accounts. I assume somebody overbought and is now willing to manage the risk by selling... or willing to dump completely. Generating fake hype is a nice way to make someone buy high priced sell orders. I don't know about you guys, but I'm keeping my buy orders low. I feel there might be a solid dump soon.

Existence of a team is mentioned in first post here. One can chose to believe in it or not. I cannot claim with certainty that the team exists, but I choose to believe that is does. As for that live progress of coding as it happens... that is not realistic to expect. I checked the html code behind that "project development process in real time" element and it looks like it is a terminal-like frame for announcing completion of major milestones. It could probably be named/implemented more appropriately to avoid confusion, but I choose not to take it as a sign of bad intentions... also, although used English is good, they are probably non-native English speakers, so that may be a factor as well (maybe Russians as the author of the whitepaper is named "Aнacтacия" using "WPS Office Cooбщecтвo" + website uses hosting intended for Russian speakers only: TimeWeb Ltd., Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation). Again, one can choose to believe in what is written or not. I choose to believe.

Official website of the project (jschain.io) seems to be down due to some limit(s) being hit (if I understood the message from timeweb correctly). Looks like account balance needs some topping up.

Implemented SHA-512 mining algorithm would mean, from what I understand, ASIC resistance (at least for now), quantum resistance... and, of course, CPU mining friendliness = appropriate for monetizing websites. And that is only one potential usage scenario... I'm wondering what hash rate will different CPUs give.

I found this list and it may indicate how JSChain CPU mining should perform across various architectures: https://bench.cr.yp.to/impl-hash/sha512.html. Ancient 32bit CPUs should have awful performance, but nobody should be using that these days anyway...

"Proof of transaction" mining is an interesting concept as well. Only coin I know that uses it is FlutterCoin...
 
All in all, I'm optimistic about this project.

roflmao... just received my DMINT tokens (500k) and decided to try minting feature, but instead of sending 0 ETH to the contract I sent 500k DMINT to the contract for mining... needless to say, they never came back lol... couldn't stop laughing for about a minute when I realized I had donated the airdrop to the contract instead of minting  

Thanks for the news. Is any part of the testing process intended to be open to the public before final blockchain release in Q2... maybe, at some stage, testing of browser mining open to public?

And are you forking (and modifying) Nimiq or is this project starting from zero? I'm asking this as Nimiq is also written in Javascript + implemented browser mining. I see many similarities like, for example, flexible tuning of mining power(CPU load). (...also, Nimiq seems like something that may be successfully forked in the future.)

EDIT: Just realized it will probably be based to some extent on ethereum code.

ForkDelta link seems to work, but looks like new orders need to be placed. I haven't tested it properly yet, but it should work. Their twitter account says they are still working on it...

Etherdelta is unable to post my orders anymore. It doesn't display some trade history entries either. It was good while it lasted.

Seems like posting on Github managed to convince somebody enough to try to buy some EPAL on etherdelta... somebody else willing to buy. Good to know I was able to buy a sizable amount before competition came...

I believe that it can and will unless Bitcoin as well implements (in future) zk-SNARKs or similar technology. Timely and proper implementation of quantum resistance may be a major factor as well.

I will look into it carefully, but first impression... first loading of website and homescreen with, what I would call, unprofessional font selection/combination and blurred images... it doesn't scream confidence. It still doesn't have to mean anything...

These days anything mentioning a smart contract platform pumps to a few hundred million $ marketcap. And, among other things, considering TRON currently has much higher marketcap than EOS and almost 2x more than QTUM and NEO, I believe it is not a better investment than either of them.

I believe it is not undervalued at this current price and taking in consideration current development stage. This high price at this point, in my opinion, is mostly based on speculation on future platform adoption.

With PoS transition and events like EthFinex opening on January 15. - I believe next Ethereum could be... well, Ethereum again I wouldn't be shocked if it goes more than 10x in a year in value and overtaking bitcoin. Other somewhat similar promising projects that may easily match or even outperform it in terms of percentage of market gained? Aelf, EOS, Qtum, Neo, Waves, Ardor, Cardano, Aeternity...
