Re: Can Maidsafe be used to solve the "storage problem" of Bitcoin's blockchain?
Can hyped up non-existent vaporware cure cancer? Anyone's guess. I saw and early whitepaper for that and it was full of technobabble and set of my personal sleaze alarms.
What/which "storage problem" are you talking about?
The storage problem of the blockchain becoming terabytes in size and your average person does not have the incentive or means to be a full node. Not sure if this is really a 'problem' problem, though, if some minimum amount of full nodes are plenty for the network to thrive.
I have read that these newly release CPU only coins, like quark and whatnot. Why release these coins? Isn't that taking a step backwards in the speed of mining?
What you have in every computer is a CPU. Only those high ends/gaming computer have GPU. It is to allow more people to mine it, might increase the network security.
4) Only one device per IP address per receiver address (Is there a fool-proof way to control this?)
Sure, I could borrow my neighbour's wifi. Why do you want to limit it to one per household? Dont have any use.

You might want to consider to even mine. Solo mining/CPU mining are completely inprofitable, GPU mining/ASIC mining is half profitable. You should mine altcoins and exchange them for bitcoin.

Straight to the point: Begging is not allowed. 1st post and begging does not make people give you good impression.
Guys, I am new here, and considering investing a nice chunk of my portfolio (10-20%) in bitcoin. I have several questions:
#1 How does the government treat BTC gains tax wise? Are there rules in effect? Are capital gains the same as a stock sale? #2 Whats the best method to go about buying bitcoin in the US? Coinbase, or is there a cheaper marketmaker? #3 Has anyone tried doing technical analysis on BTC prices, and if so has it worked?
1) Different government treat BTC differently. You should check with your lawyer to make sure that it is legal to use it there. 2) Personally, I feel that Coinbase is pretty good. They have good customer service, got my issues solved fast. 3) not sure

Feel bad for him. P2pool miners must be so happy now.
As far as I can tell none of the commands are incorrect, and I've seen different syntaxes so I'm assuming the flag order doesn't particularly matter. I'm getting a steady 75 khash/s but I don't seem to be getting any hashrate or share updates on WeMineLTC, even after waiting for half an hour.
Also, cudaMiner is the only thing I'm using because as far as I understand it, it has Stratum built it and the '-o stratum+tcp://world.wemineltc.com:80' flag launches it.
Any help is appreciated.
Was mining it for a few months now. I didnt use the latest version but the older version which only supports getwork and run a stratum proxy. Try to downgrade to a lower version. Also, did you see any shares submitted? Try running it without the flag and use a mining proxy.
