mining.bitcoin.cz is down

Some language I don't understand.  Google translate says it's Russian:

Дaнный дoмeн в нacтoящee вpeмя зaблoкиpoвaн пo финaнcoвым пpичинaм
"Client blocked due to financial reasons"

This must be the new ddos prevention system. But now I can't access the site, or stats.
Just saw that to.Hope it gets resolved soon. Sad

I dont know if this is already created, and if so just delete.  I am interested in what people's mining setups are like.  Everyone feel free to post up pics I will have pics of mine as soon as I can get my three 6970's to not touch each other.  I would also take suggestions on how to keep them from touching.

so where should I point my miners?

cant connect with: api3.bitcoin.cz:8332, api.bitcoin.cz:8331, or api.bitcoin.cz:8332

all fail to connect, and cgminer keeps trying them as its the primary pool with no luck.

I may be on another IP than before the attack; Im on 3G wireless internet (USB modem). it changes IPs every 24 hours I believe. could that be the problem?

Ive restarted the miners many times in the last few hours to no avail.

I cant get to your website either.
I'm mining on api2.bitcoin.cz:8332 more than 2 hours now.

Upgrade to 1.64.The one you are using has a bug, that doesn't reconnect the miner when server connection is lost.

Re: Cold Storage

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can hold my bitcoins on a server and have them insured against damgage theft?

Someone referred to bitcoins that are not online as being in "cold storage," and that sounds strange to me.

I have a laptop that is not connected online and I was just think about storing the coins on there.

Thanks.
David

I believe http://simplecoin.us is now the largest pool that is not attacked, supports merged mining with Namecoin, and not a religious extremist.

i prefer eligius, and i am sure they are bigger...
Seems you guys (Eligius) are the main players now, in keeping the NMC network strong.
Thanks guys.

BTW: Gold and silver is money and nothing else!
That is complete BS!
Money is what we the people agree it is.
The problem we have now,is that we allow criminals to control the issuance of currency.
Even if we got rid of paper now, nothing would change. Those two metals, especially gold are in the hands of bankers (IMF).

cgminer is so efficient you will need to turn down your OC.  Try it, then notice that you STILL get better MHash/s.  I actually had to turn mine down on a 1.x.x version because of this, and had to turn it down again in 2.0.6, but I'm still getting higher MHash/s now than I was with the 1.x.x version before I had to turn it down.  Note that it may take a few trials to find your new sweet spot.
Lowered the oc to 945/215.Seems to be ok now.
Thanks man. Smiley

Re: MTGOX - SEPA transfers takes 7 business days
by
Seraphim401
on 11/10/2011, 09:57:02 UTC
Hello,

My last two SEPA transfers sending EURO to MTGOX have been unbearably slow.

The last one I sent  monday of last week and still does not appear in my account. I contacted them on thursday and they told me that they had received the transfer and that it would be available "in a few more days".

The thing is, these really used to take 2-3 business (like they say in the help on the site).

Anyone knows what has gone wrong?

Thanks!
If you want SEPA done right, use TradeHill.

I'm a first time user of this program.Thought I would give it a try today.
It works lovely for all my gpu's except one.I have 2 5770 @960/300 -I 7,9.
2 5870 @ 950-955/215 -I 9,9.I used the same clocks with phoenix 1.6.2,never had a problem.
The miner with the 2 5870's uses an intel e-5300 cpu, which I underclocked  to 1.2 Ghz to save power.
The problem I have is that the 5870 that is clocked at 950/215,always gets pronounced dead by cgminer after about 30-50 min.
I switched this particular card back to Phoenix and it's been doing it's thing for hours now.
I prefer all my cards to be on one efficient miner.Any help would be welcome!

Thanks  Smiley

It is "unofficial" because there were silly problems before and I didn't finish GUI yet. Sorry, but it looks like you never developed something what must be together 24/7 up and on bleeding edge (which MM definitely is).
What is the timeline for getting the gui online?
I think it's good for NMC to have at least one of the big boys on board.

Hey Nodemaster,
Do you think some large pool is secretly merged mining?
According to http://dot-bit.org/tools/nextDifficulty.php,the network is over 500 gH/s strong.
