Re: Science and Religion?
by

I think most of it is already said - that science provides answers to some questions and religion to others. Therefore, one shouldn't really eliminate the other (I myself am not religious). What I mean that believing in God doesn't necessarily mean that you will try to deny science. Same goes for The story of creation vs. evolution - these two can still go hand in hand, even if Bible does not talk about it.

Male Feminist Ends Life After False Accusation During Women's March

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osjDb4bjQQw

Considering that men and boys are falling behind by practically every metric, when will we be "equal" enough? There are very good reasons we have made the standard "innocent until proven guilty", but for some reason that is irrelevant when it comes to men's rights. Is there a point at which women will ever achieve their goal of equality, or does this have to turn into an open supremacy movement before people will stop it?

They should have identified her and prosecute her.  His family should sue her in civil court for damages.

The guy was a weakling.  Who cares that she "accused" him?

I would not care if a thousand women accused me.  I would worry about being convicted.  I would welcome accusations as a way to make money in countersuits.

As far as equality goes.  Well, sex equality cannot be achieved because we are not the same biologically.  Equal rights were achieved a long time ago.  Now the pendulum swings in the other direction.  This not only applies to equality of sexes but race as well.

Affirmative action is both racist and sexist.  But what can you do?  Work harder.  That is what I tell my son.  He needs to be twice as good as any girl or visible minority.  Some medical programs (Queen's University QuARMS is a good example) have been completely shut for white males.  They don't admit white males, period.

White males are discriminated big time these days, but what can you do.  Work harder that is all you can do.

I wish what you said were true. While I agree with you about the part that sex equality in a way cannot be achieved as we are not the same biologically, I cannot agree with the fact that equal rights were achieved long time ago.

First of all, there are so many countries where there definitely are no equal rights. Secondly, there are so many aspects and like it or not, one of them is also the wage topic where still men are getting paid more for the same positions as women. There are some little aspects that people might not really take in in their everyday lives but they are there. And I'm not saying that everything is unequal for only women. Of course, there are many things where men are been taken as not as capable as women.

But yes, there should be a bigger focus on males too. To notice that while we have overcome such problems as equal rights for women like voting etc... now there are many aspects where men have to prove their worth 10x more.

Re: Nevada Issues Blockchain Marriage Certificates

Sounds like this definitely requires a good arbitration and mediation clauses incorporated in the smart contracts. Quite interesting really that people have decided to use blockchain for marriage. I wonder if has been done anywhere else besides Nevada as well and what was the story behind starting doing this in the first place.

Re: Monthly minimum wage: ~$82 is that too much to ask?
by

I agree with you that this is a sad situation. However, I think you cannot compare two totally different countries and their wages as the living costs nowhere near similar in this two and therefore cannot be compared. A lot of countries have been struggling with a low minimum wage. If we go further from Africa (as I do not know about it that much myself) and would say focus on some European countries that used to be part of Soviet Union like the Baltic countries and since joining the eurozone they have had many struggles. Cost of living has gone up, but wages not accordingly. And it takes time for things to even out and to be fair and comparing themselves with other Western European countries won't do them any good.

Back to Nigeria though - what do you mean by "shut down the economy"?

Re: Its impossible to get merit here
by
Serena_M
on 08/01/2019, 13:03:37 UTC
I'm rather new here and I'm definitely not here for gaining merits, because this won't stop me from exploring the forum and educating myself on various topics. And if I feel that I have something to add, I do it. Not because someone should praise me for it, but because the topic seems interesting. Often I do not say anything, I just learn from the discussion.

Why are you so worried about gaining merits? Just enjoy. And when you feel like you have something to say - do it. I'm sure someone will give you a merit sooner or later.

Contacted via Telegram for bounty program

I was just contacted by a project by DM in Telegram asking me to join their bounty program because they have seen me participating in other bounties. Is this even "legal"? I mean, aren't all of ICOs and projects supposed to not message first? A probable scam?

Re: A Question to Atheists ?

Always with those is there god or not debates I would like to ask like some people here before, how do you know that the God that you believe in i the true god? I mean, if we take Christianity for example, then sorry if I'm wrong, but I'm quite sure that following another religion with completely different traditions and beliefs is also considered as not being a true believer and not going to heaven? But what always amazes me that how can people be so ignorant to believe that among 7 billion people and who knows how many religions, they are the ones who are definitely 100% right. Why is it so hard to accept that some people believe in something else and some people believe in science and not a god like entity at all? Maybe whatever they believe in is right for them and as they don't believe in heaven or hell, these things won't ever exist for them. I would really like to think that whatever a person believes in that will be their reality. So there is not only one truth, but there are personal truths.

I mean, I definitely do believe in something, not in god, no. But that there is something much bigger than us. Do I believe in heaven or hell? No. Whether you're religious or not I think people still want to do good and not only because they have this possibility to go to heaven, but because in their nature they are not bad just because they don't have faith in such things.

Also, with all the heaven and hell topic, what actually makes me rather sad is the fact that if god is so god and non-judgemental and what not, how is it possible that he wants to separate families for the whole eternity? I mean, I had this schoolmate who turned religious at some point and he was seriously devastated because his parents were not religious meaning that they would never get to heaven. So, he would go to heaven, yet a lot of people he cares about would burn in hell? Sounds lovely. In my opinion, not a very nice thought to have for the rest of your life.

This is actually quite brilliant information! All the other things listed here seem to be documentaries, but documentaries isn't really a genre that a lot of people enjoy so a fiction version could be quite something.  Wink Keeping my eye on it and hopefully it will be a success.

Oh, sorry, my bad for not noticing! Thank you for your answer though.

Also, a little speculation - you as a smart contract provider, what's your take on the discussion whether contracts on paper will disappear entirely?

From my own experience I know that quite a few universities encourage their students to go and listen to different conferences  and discussions on the subject. There are also several Erasmus + programmes like youth exchanges that are tech related with the emphasises on blockchain. But this is a big surprise that they now also offer a proper educational program now. Of course, would have happened sooner or later as this is such a popular topic and people really want to get their head around this.

Re: [ANN]🔥TOP Network: Enable real-world business with Blockchain 4.0 Technology🔥
by
Serena_M
on 29/11/2018, 14:01:34 UTC
What do you mean by Blockchain 4.0 Smiley what are the first versions
The first version is BTC itself.
What make us blockchain 4.0 is that we are one of the few blockchain projects which can connect real world business and blockchain together.
One of the most challenging problems for mew blockchain projects is the userbase for dApps.
For TOP Network, this problem is already solved because we already have 50 million reliable users on the communication apps we have developed.
Interesting, so many projects seem to claim to be the first one to connect real world business and blockchain. At least in some aspects. Anyways, don't mean to nag and wish you best of luck!

I don't see it becoming a threat to whole humanity (at least not anytime soon), but as it's still programmed by a man himself, then without doubts some errors will happen and we cannot see what the outcome of that will be. Just fingers crossed that it will do more good than harm.

This is definitely not money. For me, happiness is in harmony with myself.
Wise words  Smiley I think it definitely comes down to being content with yourself and accepting all your good and bad traits. And of course trying to improve as a person not only accepting your bad habits.

I agree with the last post. Unless you're so rich and you don't have to work your butt off, then living in stress is not a good condition.
