How loud is this thing compared to an S9 or GPU set up?

I bought one but hasn't arrived yet Sad, may have to wait until after the weekend as it doesn't seem like it's going to make it past customs by end of today.

Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer B3 Miner

It seems Bitmain has made it a habit to perfectly price discriminate amongst their customers. Something economists dream about at night. It is unfair that the second batch has released so soon with such a major reduction of price; destroying the price premium paid by first batch buyers. I do think it'll ultimately be worth it still to be in batch 1 but the risk is high and reward is at most break even.

I sent them a quick email and they replied the following:

Quote
"Dear xxxxxxxx,

With regards to the decrease in the price of our B3 miner, we are presently working on a compensation package for the affected customers. There will be an email sent out to you in the next few days with the details and relevant terms and conditions.

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Valerie‍
Bitmain"

It seems that they understand their position and are working on a resolution. If more people email them, they will hopefully understand that there are many people dissatisfied. If only a few complaints get through, they may just brush it off or give out a $50-100 coupon that most people won't end up using.

I have just received shipping update from Bitmain. It says it is ready for UPS pick up but not shipped yet. Received a tracking number. My guess is that people will start to receive tracking info within the next 24 hours.

Not shipped for me. I used Fedex.

I shipped UPS, literally just got the notification.

I like to buy Bitmain miners or random stuff online with Bitcoin and then sell these items for cash locally. Buying Bitmain miners will even net you an additional 50-60% on your investment; sometimes even more!

Of course this option would require patience but pretty much whenever miners popup on Bitmain, I'll buy a few to convert to cash or add to my own mining!

Hello. At the beginning, I apologize for my english.
My test result from the new version (tested several days) , 4xGTX1060 6GB +150GPU +400MEM 70% POWER

v5.6 - average monthly payment 0.6-0.65 ZEC
v5.7 - average monthly payment 0.5-0.54 ZEC

v5.6 ~ 1200sol
v5.7 ~ 1220sol

Why is the payment lower?

I will have to return to v5.6 Sad

Difficulty has increased, the miner should be working fine. Difficulty has increased a lot since ZCash price has increased. Plus, last month was a godsend. When NiceHash went down, all coins difficulty dropped quite a bit. Slowly but surely, that difficulty has climbed back up.

However, you should be mining the same USD value if not a bit more than before and your previous mined coins are worth more now!!  Grin

Re: [Discussion] My Bitcoin Mining journey - 400 1080 Ti's To Present Day -

With that many rigs and so much equipment, have you ever considered setting up a warehouse out of state or even out of country? Here in Canada, we get between 8-15 cents/kw depending on province (in CAD). It might be worth it to spend the flight up, find a few partners, and work things out.

Also same question as above; how did you manage to get so many 1080 Ti's in bulk? I'm trying to build something of my own.

Edit: Correct me if my math is wrong, but you're looking at almost $15,000 monthly with that size of farm! For same power consumption would be ~$6,000 in Canada. Definitely worth the research if you are serious about this project.
