Hey folks,

I just published the second prototype demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csaHZe_rw_k

Seriously, this showcases the capabilities of Point Network better than the litepaper, in 'a-picture-worth-a-thousand-words' way.

If you have any feedback, please send to serge@pointnetwork.io or share here, thanks!

Will it really be possible to build that kind of exchange within a short period of time, and how long is this live section going to take because a lot of people including me might be bored if it took a long time
Hi neonshium, sorry for the late response, yes, I really believe it's possible to build that kind of exchange in a short period of time and in the last two days (8+8 hours) I've already made huge progress. But the footage is not meant to be an easily consumable product, it's a raw footage to see how much time it would take. Later I will probably chunk it up and make it a course, so feel free to come then.

even if am an upcoming dev and want to learn how to create the exchange, I won't be able to create it just by watching some live video of someone creating it, though it's going to help a lot because I would have an idea.
You really can learn it, that's the entire point of my challenge, to showcase that it's not rocket science. Maybe you won't be able to do it in a several days, but like all skills, this is achievable and is much simpler than many would think. And whenever people think some skill is hard, it pays well, so this is another incentive to eventually learn it.

Hey all,

I'm going to try to build a crypto futures exchange (think Bitmex, but more simple) live on Youtube starting tomorrow. Feel free to come in and watch.

Re: How to Run Your Own Cryptocurrency Exchange!
by
Serge Uvarov

Anyone that wishes to run their own exchanges should make sure that they have more than enough capital that it takes to run an exchange, so that they don't end up like most exchanges that couldn't keep up with the competition.

It is not just about creating and having your own exchange, you should also be able to do what it takes to keep the exchanges up and running, cause if you don't, it is still going to end up the same way as others that couldn't make it. And by the way, I believe we already have more than enough crypto exchanges, anyone trying to create more is really wasting their time.
However, imagine if Binance guys thought that. They launched in 2017 and at the end of 2017 it became the largest crypto-exchange, and still is one of the top.

The rest is on point. >90% of businesses fail, and exchange business is not an exception here. But entrepreneurs who do make it look at the glass 10% full part. Cutting corners when dealing with initial costs is part of the strategy here, as having to develop something from scratch is usually the biggest time- and capital-consuming bottleneck in startups. The "not invented here" syndrome.

Okay, so I skimmed through the report.

In regards to the concerns on attracting clients as well as the nitty-gritty aspect of the exchange, although I completely understand that the guide is probably meant to be very general and mostly inspire future exchange owners/point them in the right direction, I would argue that it's extremely vague and will likely only really inspire those without enough funds to try and start their own exchange - the ones with the intent and the capital to commit to such a project will have done so without this brief summary over the process.

It's a nice article, don't get me wrong, and it really does hit on some nice points (and this entire thing is free. I can't blame Serge for not spilling his trade secrets on a doc that anyone can download). However, I'd say that it mostly points you to the standoff of "hey, look. Building your own exchange and keeping it up will cost you fortunes, but thankfully I have some prebuilt options for you." It's not inaccurate, but if someone really isn't knowledgeable and serious enough to develop their own project, it's probably just going to crash and burn regardless of where you get a premade script from.
Hey bitcoin revo, thanks! I appreciate the feedback.

Yeah, this is more of an experiment to see if I can interest general public in the idea of doing this. It's not meant to be super technical, but more to introduce the readers who don't know much about the space to at least start having general ideas of how it works on the inside, and then maybe to nudge them to research more and eventually get involved in this space, maybe with a full-fledged team.

I do also plan to create a course for programmers where I code a complete MVP of a cryptocurrency exchange from scratch live, along with the github repo of the complete code (cause why not). Will be more fun for us geeks.

Running an exchange It's not a big deal. Many people sell the script for a few couple bucks and everyone can run his own exchange, but what after start? What when they need an update, any new changes, fork, swap or any change? What about security bugs? if someone does not have enough knowledge or team behind them, they don't need to think about buying exchange script, software or whatever. Good exchange is not only web software where is possible to "trade". there is much more.
Absolutely agree. Buying a script without having someone onboard properly understanding what it does is super dangerous, especially in the business of financial platforms, where users trust exchanges with their money to be safe and secure.

Starting an exchange may only be max. 5% of the success. The people to trade on this exchange, these are the most difficult task. Especially today where there are so many competitors with good service
I do agree, although if you don't have anything to get people onto, this is a problem too. I actually share some ideas in "How to Stand Out" chapter, but it's up to the entrepreneur to find creative ways to attract customers.

Normally, however, it's "business as usual": buying leads on Facebook and Google Ads and making sure the cost is less than CLTV (customer lifetime value) or something to that extent.

How to Run Your Own Cryptocurrency Exchange!
by
Serge Uvarov
on 22/04/2019, 15:15:11 UTC
Hey folks,

Since a few potential clients asked me to distill my experience of working on cryptocurrency exchange development into some written document, I've decided to turn it into a whole website + a 19-page report.

Here it is: https://www.runyourownexchange.com/

If you have been curious how exchanges work from the inside, what goes into building and running one, and what the challenges are, I explain all that in there. Who knows, maybe you'll decide to start one yourself.

You don't have to hire me specifically after you read it, of course. Free information, no strings attached.

Let me know what you think as well, I appreciate all feedback. Cheers!

did you know who is running the official telegram channel?
The new investor. Apparently, the message originated from him.

Ok, one last time, I'm just telling you how it is: he said that he will not continue with the project, the last two people on the team got informed that they will stop receiving salary (essentially, fired), I've taken measures to inform VK users to withdraw everything. VK will be deleted in two weeks, all projects are discontinued, all websites deleted, we sent emails about that. Today he suddenly posts in Telegram the modified message, adding that RKC will be somehow revived. Well, judge for yourself. I've got enough of this drama, being yelled at for trying to help and share the actual information responsibly.

The withdrawals on VK aren’t working. Please make the withdrawals possible so we can take our funds out.
Even if it’s not worth much anymore, it’s for the feeling. We have a lot of respect for you Serge that you’re willing to help us.
Yes, don't worry, I'm working with the remainder of the team to process all withdrawal requests ASAP.

people are buying. they are collecting cheaply.
in my opinion. You too. You're cheap
You can have any opinion you want. I wouldn't touch RKC with a ten foot pole now.

Why not by Telegram and Mail.
Cause everybody's fired. You wouldn't even know if I didn't tell you, and still kept buying RKC. Until hosting company shuts down the servers with all the money.

Are you happy.

VK is one aspect. What about the path of RKC?
What about it? What do you think happens to the coin after there is nobody to maintain and support it?

Are you allowing your negative emotions to spread FUD since you are no longer a member of the Team(Let go in January during acquisition)?
I'm a professional and would never do such a thing. And by the way, I was still consulting RKE team, so I know what's going on.
This time it's real. The management couldn't agree on the strategy, the coin price has dropped significantly, the investor got discouraged and has left. Unfortunately, this is the end of RKE.
I'm just warning people to get their funds out of VK until it's shut down.

Don't believe me? Log into VK right now. You'll see I'm right.

Are you stating VK is no longer active, why was an update made this week for the addition
Because it's happened just a couple of days ago. Until that time they were still trying to keep the company afloat.

Re: [ANN] Royal Kingdom Enterprise ICO

Hi all,

I’m former CTO of Royal Kingdom Enterprise, now demoted to external consultant after the acquisition took place in January. I think at this point nobody has any illusions about the future of the company. Aside from the coin price, the company itself is in ruins: nobody understands where it is going, or even who’s gonna pay for the hosting and the remaining 2 people on the team, out of 15+ that we used to have when I was working there.

I got contacted by the remaining team members and told that since nobody is paying to keep the lights on, the infrastructure is going to be shut down. It would be a big problem for everybody if people’s money disappeared with it, so I’ve stepped in to work with the team to organize two weeks of maintenance for people to get their money out. If you’re a VK user, please take immediate action to withdraw any funds you have there before it shuts down. We will notify every user by email as well.

As to what happened with RKC, if you invested after the last huge spike, sorry for your loss. I personally didn't sell nor buy any RKC after we got bought out, so my conscience is clean here. I have no idea who did, everybody I asked denies it.

As a person responsible for the technical part, I believe it went okay. Although we registered several cyberattack attempts, the platform didn’t get hacked. The smart contract didn’t fail and didn't lock people’s money. And I believe that we (the former team) had put in our best efforts to develop and improve our projects while we were in charge. On the commercial side, unfortunately, the company slowly slid down the path of 90% failed crypto startups.

So that’s the end of it, I guess. And if you need a cryptocurrency exchange/smart contract/decentralized p2p app done, I’m your guy, send me a message to hi@uvarovconsulting.com.

By the way, Palmex should be fine, I'm currently working with ArabianChain to transfer it onto their infrastructure.

Hi all,

Thanks for the interest in this ICO. Sorry for the late response, replying to all of you at once:

Q: Are you going to run any bounty campaigns?
Q: Hello, are you intending to run a bounty program ?
Q: PS: are you intending to run a bounty program ?
A: We weren't going to, but because of all the requests we came up with something, please take a look: https://royalkingdomcoin.com/bounty

Q: how will it work that the supply will decrease every month? Then there will be a total supply less than 15 million?
A: Sorry, that's old information. We were going to simply burn the coins to decrease the supply (transfer() them to the address, bruteforcing the private key of which would take a ginormous amount of time, so it's basically becoming non-transferrable anymore, thus decreasing the supply and signaling the scarcity => higher price to the market). But many people were confused about the economics of this, so we want with premiums that are going to be paid monthly to the token holders.

Q: Do you have an interest in more exchanges or will it just be the venture kingdom platform and tomorrow exchange?
A: We have the plans, yes, the more the merrier, but we can't know anything for sure right now about whether the tokens will be listed on the specific exchange.

Q: How does it work with the exchange? Because I saw that the bank verification was disabled, so I can't get my money of the exchange?
Q: Excited about this project! Will the token be listed on other exchanges beside tomorrow exchange?
A: You don't need to be verified to participate in the ICO. Sorry for the confusion. We've deleted the bank account info section from the website.

And thanks for everyone else commenting here about us.

I'm also gonna close this thread, as we have an official one now: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2012486.

Cheers.
