Re: Pci Extender/riser Problem

Same problem here...

Old motherboard...latest bios update 2007, lenovo board.
Has one PCIE-X16 and one PCIE-X1
Card in pcie-x16 directly, works fine.
Card in pcie-x1 works fine
WHEN THEY ARE PUT IN APART ( second slot is blocked by first slot. )
When I put them both in risers... the card, connected to riser onto the pcie-x16 isn't simply found.
VGA is connected onboard.
Also tried with several miners...same problem.

Does a work around exist for it ?   Going to try with a pcie X1  splitter too, and see whap happens.
It's no psu problem...psu is now seeing a load of 20% of rated output.

Att : Schleicher : Sorry, I missed your publication, I was fumbling around with my compu, installing cuda 7.5 , then 8.0, and ran into a driver problem, and card ID prob.
I downloaded your latest versions as well, will build me another computer, and start from the beginning.
Then I have a miner, Cuda, etc and give it a try.
Just got 3 slightly used GTX 1080, or 1070, will see, when I can go for them, which would be a good start, for trials
What can I expect from your miner ? in what to mine web page, and a lot of other, they notice , a GTX1070 would be good for 500Hs in xmr / cryptonight ?
Thx for your work !

other question

In Cuda, do I install the nvidia driver, or do I let Cuda install it's driver ? Last time, I had a driver installed, and let cuda install, ending up with 4 drivers, notably, two the same, while the original was same version, as one from cuda, but the cuda version was noted to be cuda enabled ?

Other problem

I don't know how to compile

Any compilers that would be willing to help me out ? contact me ?

Gun control sucks !
It works only for the legal people !

It's easier to get illegal guns

Plus, it makes good people more vulnerable !

Please allow workernames as username, not only wallet addresses

bumping this once more Smiley

Ok I will release new version in 2-4 days, I will update many things.

Claymore, don't you see a possibility to make a cuda 8 version for Linux for pascal cards, and maybe apart version, for older cards ?

Could we get a updated Linux version? XMR has gone up, and some of us would like to switch our farms to XMR at the moment. Ideally a 15.12 version?

(I think you said to use max 14.7 but here's my report anyways for 15.x);
The 9.1 version has issues with some GPUs, i have my 290/390, my 380 and some random 280x get lowdifficultyshare errors for 100% of their hash. I tried the -a 3 option, it doesnt fix it.

Cheers.

Same here, at least for  some rigs of three people, willing to start mining XMR, with Linux and...cuda, so Nvidea, thinking GTX1080..

Hi guys,

any news from hasrates on GTX 1080 ti , and latest Titans ?

How goes  R9 290 vs 390 ? and what about RX480 ?

I have to say, I'm more thinking to go Nvidia / Linux / XMR, so which miner would be optimised ?

@claymore :
Sure, there is no reason to start talking about hashrate, as that depends completely from your configuration.

Tried to start your miner, to test on eth, I got this result ;

20:16:01:274   abf62840   cudaGetDeviceCount failed (35, CUDA driver version is insufficient for CUDA runtime version), probably no CUDA devices

My version is cuda 7.5 , the highest I get offered for Linux. Prolly that's the error ?
On which of your versions I can fall back ?

thanks !

With this GPU you should wait at least a minute until DAG is generated.

@claymore
first, let me thank you for your nice work.
Do you have a miner, that fully support nvidia and AMD, for Linux, that works with Monero / xmr ?
thanks for info in advance !
Steve

I don't have Nvidia Monero miner, only AMD and recent versions work in Windows only.
@Claymore
I've read, you have an older version working for monero, linux and nvidia ?
Would it be much work, to renew a linux version for monero support as well, that support both/or Nvidia/Amd stuff ?
One remark : It seems not possible to find newer then cuda 7.5 for linux ?
There are a bunch of linux guys that don't know how to compile, so, using the free versions is problematic.
And a big group nvidia users with linux as well.

Re: [XMR] What Hardware and Software do you use to mine the MONERO XMR
by
Server2850Guy

Hi again,

is there a page that publishes results for different cards, and monero ( cryptonight ?)
alternatively, is there a way to calculate hashrate you get from another coin ( eth, litecoin, etc ), what you'll get for monero ?

I want to be informed well, before buying 'new' stuff, which will be difficult enough, as I have to import all.

What is needed to run a node, concerning mem/proccessor(s)/diskspace/ net bandwith ?

what is needed, just to hash, let's, let's say per card installed.

And what do I need to have installed, to get a Linux machine working, and not really into soft from pages that launch you at their pool at once.

First steps will be some experimenting, and like said, I can get a nice board to start, with nice processor, and an offer for 3 Titans ( not the X)
As I see, the Nvidia gtx690 has some 3000+ cuda cores, that should be a nice option as well ?

thanks for further advice guys

And sorry,
One more question.
How's the hashrate from monero, if you look to other coins, like etherium, etc.

I found this list, that publishes hashrate, but for a lot different scripts
http://www.mininghwcomparison.com/list/    only a few for scryptonight, what should be  monero ?

Hello Gingerale,

two questions

1) what works better ? Radeons, or Nvidea's  ? R390 seems really cheaper then Titan (x).

2) How works Titan (6GB) vs. Titan x (12GB)? surely, the Titan has less cores then the Titan X .

I'm looking for a std board with min. 4 Pci-e slots. Found one with a Xeon 12 core.

laters ?

New here !

Hmm, was looking around, and you guys say, you get a measli 2kh/s from those video cards.
Yet, as I'm seeing to join, I checked for one of the light machines, to join, and they rate a 'stupid' GT520 @ 14/20Kh/s ?
As where I live, it's hard to get decent processors, it's or Celeron, or I3, or Sempron, so, I actually have two machines running Linux 64Bit, with GT520 cards. rated at 14/20Kh/s, they should do not that bad ?

Can you guys point me around a bit, where you can exchange, if it's needed to join a pool , and so on.

thanks
